Jesse Pollak Reveals Base’s “Barbell Strategy” Building Both Ends of the Onchain Economy

Jesse Pollak’s vision for Base is getting clearer.💙

The idea behind the barbell strategy is simple:

On one side → BUILDERS

Base wants to give founders the infrastructure, mentorship, funding access and ecosystem support needed to turn ideas into real products.

On the other side → THE ONCHAIN ECONOMY

Trading, stablecoin payments, financing, tokenization and AI agents are becoming increasingly important parts of Base’s direction.

The interesting part is what connects both ends.

Builders create the apps.

Apps create utility.

Utility brings users.

Users create economic activity.

And that activity creates more opportunities for builders.

Base Batches and the Base Ecosystem Fund are part of the builder side, while the 2026 strategy puts stronger emphasis on trading, payments and agents.

Jesse Pollak has described the bigger ambition as building Base into infrastructure for global finance.

That makes the question much bigger than “which chain has the most users?”

It becomes:

👇 Can Base connect builders, applications, capital and real-world financial activity into one growing onchain economy?

What do you think of Jesse’s barbell strategy?

The Base App Experience: Why More People Are Choosing It

Base App Is Becoming More Than a Wallet It’s a Gateway to the Onchain World 💙

The Base App brings more of the onchain experience into one place —from managing your assets and trading to payments, social, apps, and discovering what’s being built on Base.

What I like most is the direction: instead of jumping between different apps for every onchain activity, the experience is becoming increasingly connected and accessible.

Why Base App feels like more than just a wallet.

Manage your assets

.Trade & discover

.Send & pay

.Explore apps

.Connect socially

.Chat

.Create & earn

.Explore AI-powered experiences

All from one app

Base App has many more features beyond that list. 💙

.

That’s what makes the Base App interesting to me it feels less like “just another crypto wallet” and more like a gateway to the onchain internet.

So Iam curious 🤔

What feature would you use the most? 🫵

The Onchain World Is Getting Bigger. Base App Is Bringing It Together.

The onchain world is becoming increasingly multi-chain and having to jump between different apps, wallets and networks can quickly get messy.

Base App is bringing multiple ecosystems into one simple experience.💙

From Base, Ethereum and Arbitrum to Solana, Bitcoin, Polygon, Optimism, Zora, Avalanche, BNB Chain, Monad and Robinhood the current network selector shows a growing range of ecosystems in one place.

The bigger picture isn't just more networks.

It’s about making the onchain experience easier to explore.

One app.Multiple ecosystems.More ways to discover what’s being built.

And as the onchain economy keeps expanding, having a simpler gateway into that world becomes increasingly important.

More networks. More possibilities. One Base App.

What network would you like to see added next? 👀

Cobalt Is Coming Base Is Upgrading the Onchain Experience

Base is preparing its third network upgrade Cobalt, planned for September 2026.

And this one is more than just another upgrade. It is about making Base accounts more powerful, transactions more flexible, and token infrastructure more capable.

Here’s what makes it interesting:

Native Account Abstraction — EIP-8130

• Batch multiple actions into one transaction

• Sponsored transactions & ERC-20 gas payments

• Session keys & sub-accounts

• Key rotation and multiple authentication methods

• Higher transaction concurrency

B20 Improvements

• Pay transaction fees in B20 tokens

• Scheduled token multiplier updates

• Improved transfer-blocking

• New Union & Intersect policies

Dynamic Upgrades

Base nodes will be able to follow scheduled upgrade timestamps without requiring a restart at activation.

Cobalt is more than another feature release it pushes important account and asset capabilities closer to the Base protocol itself.

What interests me most is that these capabilities are moving closer to the Base protocol itself giving builders stronger primitives to create better onchain experiences.

But here's the bigger question:

What do you think Cobalt will unlock first better consumer apps, smarter wallets, or completely new onchain experiences?

Base Community: Don’t Trust Unverified NFT Claims

SCAM ALERT: Be Careful With “Base 3rd Anniversary” NFT Claims

The Base community is celebrating another milestone, and scammers can use moments like this to make fake NFT announcements, mint pages, and wallet-draining links look legitimate.

Before connecting your wallet or signing any transaction, STOP and verify.

Don’t trust:

• Random NFT mint links

• Unverified anniversary collections

• “Limited” or “exclusive” claims from unknown accounts

• DMs asking you to mint

• Websites asking for your seed phrase or private key

Most importantly: never share your seed phrase or private key. No legitimate Base announcement should require you to hand over your wallet credentials.

If you see an NFT or giveaway claiming to be from Base, verify it through Base’s official communication channels before doing anything.

The safest rule is simple:

🛡️ TRUST OFFICIAL SOURCES ONLY.

Let’s keep the Base community safe, informed, and based.

Agents Don’t Need Bank Accounts. They Need Base MCP

The next generation of AI won’t just understand the internet it will interact with the onchain economy.

Base MCP is helping build the bridge between intelligent agents and real onchain actions. 💙

AI agents can move beyond simply answering questions and start interacting with onchain tools while users can remain in control of the actions being executed.

AI → Base MCP → Base → Onchain . Simple easy or affordable accessible.

Payments, swaps, DeFi, automation and machine-to-machine commerce could eventually become agent-driven.

The agent economy is still early.

But the infrastructure being built today will shape how autonomous software interacts with money tomorrow.

How to Use the Same Base Account on Mobile & Desktop with Base App ?

How to Use the Same Base Account on Mobile and Desktop

If you started your onchain journey with Base App on mobile and now want to access the same Base Account from your desktop, you don't need to create a second wallet.

Here's the simple way to think about it:

📱 MOBILE

Start with your existing Base Account in Base App.

💻 DESKTOP

Open the official Base Account web experience and choose same Sign In.

🔐 USE THE SAME ACCOUNT

Use the same sign-in method associated with your Base Account, such as your email/OTP or supported passkey.

If you're using a passkey, having it synced through your device's password manager can make accessing the same account across devices much easier.

⚠️ One important thing:

Don't accidentally choose “Create a new wallet” on desktop if your goal is to access your existing Base Account.

Always verify that the wallet address shown on desktop is the same address you expect from your mobile account.

Also, never share your recovery phrase or private keys with anyone—even if someone claims to be from Base.

The key idea is simple:

📱 Base App on mobile

🔐 Same Base Account

💻 Desktop access

One account. A smoother experience across devices.

Have you been using Base mainly on mobile, desktop, or both?

Why Base Is Becoming the Home of the Agent Economy?

AI is evolving beyond simply answering questions. Intelligent agents are beginning to take actions, complete tasks, and interact with digital services on their own.

But capable agents need more than powerful models they need an economy where they can transact, coordinate, and operate efficiently.

The next generation of autonomous software will need a blockchain that can support real-world activity at internet scale not just speculation.

That's one of the reasons Base stands out.💙

With a growing builder ecosystem, expanding payment infrastructure, developer tools, and real-world experimentation, Base is helping create an environment where autonomous software can move beyond demos and into practical, onchain use cases.

The Agent Economy isn't a distant vision anymore it's beginning to take shape today. The builders experimenting now are laying the foundation for what comes next.

Although it's still early, the momentum is becoming increasingly clear.

important security reminder for the Base community.

The biggest threat in Web3 isn't always a smart contract bug or a market crasht can be a single moment of trust.

Recently, Prakash.base.eth shared an important reminder after reports of users losing funds by entering their seed phrases into fake browser extensions .Once a recovery phrase or private key is exposed, there is usually no way to recover the assets.

As the onchain ecosystem continues to grow, scammers are evolving too. They build convincing phishing websites, fake wallet extensions, impersonate support teams, and send urgent DMs designed to make you act without thinking.

🔒 Remember these golden rules:

• Never share your Recovery Phrase Seed Phrase or Private Key

• Base will never ask for your recovery phrase or private key in DMs.

• Only use official Base links and trusted applications.

• Always verify the URL before connecting your wallet.

• Review every transaction and permission request before signing.

• If anything feels unusual, stop immediately and ask the community first.

Why this matters

Your wallet is your identity, your assets, and your access to the onchain economy.

Unlike traditional banking, blockchain transactions are irreversible. Once a scammer gains access to your wallet through your recovery phrase, your funds can be transferred instantly and there is rarely any way to reverse the transaction.

Security isn't just a personal responsibility; it's something that protects the entire community. Every cautious user helps make the ecosystem safer for everyone.

Huge thanks to Prakash.base.eth for sharing this timely reminder and helping spread awareness across the Base community. 💙

Stay Safe. Stay Smart. Stay Onchain.💙

Why Sybil Resistance Matters ?

One of the biggest challenges in Web3 isn't just scaling transactions—it's making sure onchain opportunities reach real participants instead of wallet farms.

Imagine launching an airdrop for your community.Within minutes, thousands of wallets appear.

At first glance, they all look like different users. But many could actually belong to the same person.

That's the Sybil problem.

What I find interesting about Base Verify Onchain is that it approaches this differently.

Instead of identifying who you are, it focuses on proving you're a **unique person** while preserving your privacy.

That enables applications to enforce rules such as:

One person → One claim . One person → One allocation One person → One vote

This isn't only about airdrops. It has the potential to improve:

Fair community rewards .Governance participation. Token launches .Sybil-resistant incentive programs .Onchain reputation systems

As more applications move onchain, I think fair distribution will become just as important as ow fees, scalability, and great UX.

Base Verify shows an interesting direction: protecting privacy while helping developers build systems designed for people instead of wallets

What do you think?🤔

Should future onchain applications prioritize one unique person rather than one wallet or do you think another approach works better?

Curious to hear different perspectives from the Base community.

Multiple Trading Categories. One Base App.

One of the biggest barriers to crypto adoption has never been the technology.

It's been the experience.

Too often, users have to jump between different apps just to discover markets, follow trends, or explore new opportunities.

What I like about Base App is that it brings multiple market categories into a single experience. Whether you're browsing Trending, discovering New listings, following Majors, checking tokenized Stocks , exploring Commodities, keeping an eye on Prestocks, or diving into Meme Coinseverything is organized in one place.

It's not just about having more categories.

It's about making the onchain experience simpler, faster, and easier to explore.

The future of onchain isn't dozens of disconnected apps.

It's one seamless experience that helps people discover what's next.

What's the first category you usually open when you launch Base App?

What's the Next Chain You Want to See Added to Base App?

Base App keeps proving that the future of onchain is simple, fast, and accessible. 💙

As Base App continues expanding beyond a single chain, it's becoming more than just a wallet it's evolving into an onchain hub where users can access multiple ecosystems from one place.

With support now extending to chains like BNB, Solana, Bitcoin, and Robinhood Chain, the experience is getting more unified while keeping everything simple and accessible.

The big question is: what should come next?

If you could choose the next chain to be integrated into Base App, which one would it be and why?

I could personally love to see even more ecosystems added over time to make Base App the go-to destination for seamless onchain trading and asset management.

Curious to hear everyone's thoughts. 👇

Confused About the Base App Campaign? This Guide Makes It Simple

I noticed a lot of people are still confused about how the Base App First Trade Campaign works, so I made this simple guide.

The key thing to remember is that it's not just about making a swap.

• New users only

•Your first qualifying swap must be at least $100 (Tier 1) or $250 (Tier 2)

•The swap must be done using Base App's built-in swap on supported assets/networks

•You must maintain the required balance for 30 days to receive the bonus

Some actions do NOT qualify, including bridging, cross-chain swaps, mini-apps, dapp browsers, or other external integrations.

If you're planning to participate, take a minute to read the requirements first—it can save you from missing the reward.

Hope this guide makes the campaign a little easier to understand. If you have any questions, feel free to ask below. 💙

From Prompt to Onchain: The Future User Journey on Base

One of the biggest challenges with using blockchain today isn't the technology itself.

It's the experience.

Most users don't want to think about bridges, RPCs, gas settings, token approvals, or switching between multiple apps. They simply want to tell the system what they want to do and have it happen securely.

That's what makes Base MCP so interesting.

Instead of navigating through multiple interfaces, you can describe your intent in natural language. AI helps understand the request, prepares the workflow using supported onchain tools, lets you review every step, and only executes after your approval.

In other words, you stay in control while the complexity stays in the background.

To me, this is where onchain UX is heading.

Not by removing user control, but by removing unnecessary friction.

Instead of manually jumping between different apps, the workflow becomes more natural, while every transaction still requires your approval.

That's a much more approachable experience especially for people who are new to crypto.

If we want millions of everyday users to come onchain, making blockchain feel simpler may be just as important as making it faster.

Base MCP feels like a step in that direction.

Curious to hear what everyone thinks

Do you think AI-powered, intent-based interactions are the future of crypto?

Why Are So Many AI Projects Choosing Base Right Now?

I have been noticing something interesting lately.

More and more AI projects seem to be building on Base, and I don't think that's happening by accident.

When people talk about AI, the conversation usually focuses on the models.

But once AI starts doing things instead of just answering questions, the infrastructure underneath becomes just as important.

An AI agent might need to send a payment, interact with a smart contract, manage a wallet, verify identity, or coordinate with another agentall in real time.

That only works if the network is fast, affordable, secure, and developer-friendly.

This is where Base stands out to me.💙

With Ethereum security, low transaction costs, Smart Wallets, an open builder ecosystem, growing payment infrastructure, and tools like Base MCP, Base seems to be creating an environment where AI applications can move beyond simple demos and into real-world use.

I also like that the focus isn't just on crypto-native users.

The long-term vision feels much bigger making onchain experiences simple enough that everyday users don't need to think about the blockchain at all.

If AI is becoming the interface for the next generation of the internet, then blockchains become the execution layer behind it.

And Base seems to be positioning itself for exactly that future.

Of course, we're still early, and there's a lot left to build.

But it's exciting to watch the ecosystem evolve and see more developers experimenting with what's possible.

I'm curiouswhat kind of AI application would you personally love to see built on Base?

What Does the Future of AI on Base Really Look Like?

The more I learn about Base, the more I believe it's not just building another blockchain it's building the foundation for the next generation of the onchain internet. 💙

The future of AI isn't just about smarter models.

It's about making the onchain experience so simple that people don't even realize they're using blockchain.

That's why I'm excited about what Base is building.

With fast transactions, low fees, Ethereum security, and a builder-first ecosystem, Base has the kind of foundation that AI-powered applications will need to reach everyday users.

I don't think the next breakthrough will be another chatbot.

It will be AI that can securely manage payments, interact with apps, automate everyday tasks, and make the onchain economy feel effortless.

To me, that's where Base has a real opportunity—not just to support AI, but to help shape how millions of people experience it.

Base MCP A New Era for AI Powered Onchain Experiences

One thing I really like about Base is its focus on improving the onchain experience, not just the infrastructure.

Base MCP feels like another step toward making Web3 easier for everyone.💙

I have always believed the biggest challenge in Web3 isn't speed it's simplicity.

Most onchain tasks still require switching between wallets, bridges, DEXs, and multiple apps. That's a lot to ask from someone who's just getting started.

Base MCP introduces a different approach.

Instead of learning complex workflows, users can simply describe what they want to do. AI helps prepare supported onchain actions, while the final approval always stays with the user.

What stands out to me about Base MCP:

1.Natural language becomes the interface interact with supported onchain experiences through conversation.

2.AI helps prepare onchain workflows reducing unnecessary steps and making interactions more intuitive.

3.User approval always comes first AI never replaces your ownership or signs transactions on your behalf.

4.A shared protocol for builders making it easier for AI assistants to connect with supported Base experiences.

5.A smoother experience for everyone from first-time users to experienced onchain participants.

6.Lower onboarding friction helping make the onchain economy more accessible to the next generation of users.

The best part?

It doesn't replace self-custody it makes self-custody easier to use.

To me, that's a meaningful step toward making the onchain economy more accessible for everyone.

What do you think is Base MCP one of the most important building blocks for AI-powered onchain experiences?
