Animal shelter

Animal shelter

It’s full. I don’t know much about the dogs there but cats aren’t moving much. I dropped off some cats 3 weeks ago and they are all still there. They cannot take anymore cats in.

If you’re looking for a pet or even thinking about it, drop by the animal shelter 11-6 Tuesday-Friday or Saturday noon-4.

They could use volunteers. Bring your kids who are out on summer break by the shelter and they can hang with the cats in their new Catio (cat patio). It helps socialize the cats for their future homes and the kids always have a good time. Post some photos on your social media to help bring more people in. Anything helps!

The best way to get a hold of them is to stop by. Everyone is very kind and the animals are all so sweet.

Opinion: Texas Fast Food on the National level

I was in Las Vegas last week and I met a local who said they loved their time in Texas because of the food. I asked him what place was most memorable and he said “Church’s Chicken”.

I personally do not associate Church’s with Texas but I don’t eat there.

Okay I did a google search and it was started in San Antonio.

Schlotzskys was started in Austin but I have a hard time associating that with Austin/Texas since it’s a chain.

Are there other fast food chains like these that outsiders consider Texas food?

Once something becomes national, does that mean it’s no longer “Texan”?

What places have you heard being associated with the state
