How/where do you land an internship for a PHI after graduating?
Hello all!
I’m trying to move towards a CIPHI certification (Canada), after graduating last summer from an accredited university. I’m just missing one mandatory course to be fully eligible for a CIPHI certification, which i’ll be taking this coming summer at the same university, and an internship.
For those who got into CIPHI a bit after graduating or that did a career transition, how did you get an internship in environmental public health that’s recognized by the institute?
I have a valid driver’s license and on my way to getting my ASP card for construction site access. I have 0 experience in field work or environmental work. I’m open to relocating for a job opportunity, temporary or permanent.
It seems that most EPH internships only want future university graduates, or someone that has 1-3 years experience in the field, so i’m ineligible for most of the postings I see. I’ve done some spontaneous applications, but to no avail.
If anybody has any leads for agencies, or networking events, advice or other useful resources that might help, i’d greatly appreciate it!
I’m currently located in Montréal, QC, would prefer to stay here but again, open to relocate!
