Setup the backplane for 8 bit computer

Finally built up a backplane with a power distribution. I tested each board with a multimeter and each gets 5.05v. I hope this means I will avoid some of the common power problems i read about. Im looking forward now to be able to start off with the clock module!

8-bit builds larger than 14 breadboards

Hello friends,

I am about to start building the 8 bit computer. I have looked carefully at photographs of builds posted on this forum and have noticed that the 14 boards that come with the kit are commonly used with vertical power rails down the centre.

I have some extra boards and was interested in builds which have successfully used more than the standard 14 boards that come with the kit. I would like to use more than 14 boards to space everything out more which I hope will help with wiring and Debugging.

If you have used more than 14 boards, how did you route the main bus across the extra space without creating problematic signal noise or messy jumpers? Did you find that using extra boards caused noticeable voltage drops and how did you ultimately tie the power rails together?

Finally, im planning on getting a base board cut to stick the breadboards down on. If you used a base board, i would be interested to know what dimensions you used for your baseboard.

Many thanks for your time.
