Hey everyone!

I'm a student and a microstock contributor.A while ago, I wrote a simple script for myself just to auto-generate tags using Al. It saved me so much time that I ended up turning it into a full Chrome extension and web app called ExifGarden.

My app writes the tags directly into the EXIF data of your image. You do it ONCE, and when you upload to multiple agencies, they all read the tags automatically.

It's free to try. I'd love to get some feedback.

Upgrading my old Nikon D5100: Did I make the right call by buying a prime instead of a new body?

Hi everyone! I recently made a gear decision and would love your thoughts on whether I made the right call, and how I should plan my future upgrades. Here is the required info:

(1) Budget, country, and currency: Had around $100-$150 equivalent for the current upgrade(Or add this amount on top after I sell my current set). Country: Ukraine.

(2) What equipment, if any, you have now and why is it no longer meeting your needs? I currently shoot on a Nikon D5100 with an 18-105mm kit lens. Friends kept telling me "DSLRs are dead" and that I needed to upgrade to a 24MP mirrorless body. I was tempted to sell everything for a D5300, Sony a6000, or a Fuji to get better low-light performance and sharpness. However, I realized a new body with a cheap kit lens wouldn't magically improve my image quality. So, I kept the D5100 and just bought a used Nikon AF-S DX 35mm f/1.8G for about $100.

(3) What kinds of subjects do you intend to shoot? Landscapes, street, and nature details. I don't shoot portraits. (I actually just won a student landscape contest with my old kit!).

(4) Is it primarily for photography, videography, or both? 100% Photography. It's a hobby, but I also sell some photos on stock sites.

My questions for you:

1)Did I make the right call investing in glass (the 35mm f/1.8G) rather than a newer body with a dark kit lens?

2)Is the jump from a 16MP sensor to a 24MP sensor actually that noticeable if I decide to upgrade the body later?
