This is my desktop setup I've been trying to make it look as modern and sleek as possible and this is where I landed

and before anyone complains about macOS icons I’m using them because they are honestly among the most clean modern and visually consistent icons out there along with a few others If you don't like macOS aesthetics go ahead and design a fully consistent better looking icon pack yourself bring it over and I'll gladly use it

anyway I’m looking for tips and ideas on how to improve the overall look even further

I'm currently running gnome 50 on wayland

This is my current progress on a Deep Blue aesthetic designed to match the "Cyber-Dark" vibe I’m going for. I’m moving away from standard defaults by heavily modifying themes and I'm currently in the process of designing my own UI assets.

Note: This is a work-in-progress. I am still manually refining the GTK elements and layout. More custom assets are on the way to replace current placeholders.

The Specs:

• OS: Ubuntu 25.10 (x86_64)
• DE: GNOME 49 (Wayland)
• Terminal: Ptyxis / Shell: Fish 4.7.1
• Theme: Space-light (Customized)
• Icons: MacTahoe-blue (Placeholder while I design my own)
• Main Extensions: Open Bar, Just Perfection, Blur my Shell.

The Plan:

I'm currently scripting this entire environment for easy replication. Once the final UI polishing and custom assets are ready, I'll be releasing a one-command installer.
