I've been fostering with a kitten rescue for a few months. My most recent two kittens went back to them about a week ago because they were ready for spay/neuter and adoption. I had a few days' break, and suddenly the rescue reached out and asked if I could foster a healthy adult ASAP because they were "trying to get all healthy cats out." I thought it sounded scary and felt bad for the adult and said I probably could and asked for details. Then they asked if I could take 2-3 kittens and/or a nursing mom with babies. I said I could only take the adult cat (I felt I needed a break from kitten craziness). When I pressed for details about what was going on, they said they had one new kitten who had some diarrhea and they were starting him on antibiotics. That didn't sound too serious to me, and I went to pick up the adult cat. When I arrived, they met me outside and wouldn't let me in and brought everything out to me, which felt super weird. They said things were very stressful and thanked me and said they would order some litter for me to pick up since I didn't have enough on hand. I brought the new foster home, she is shy and nervous but seems ok, just hiding like adult cats usually do but coming out for pets occasionally. She didn't eat at first but is now eating and drinking when I'm not in the room.

That was about 48 hours ago. Just now, I see that the rescue posted yesterday on social media that they have an active outbreak of panleuk and that at least four kittens have it. They have basically locked down the building and are asking for donations. Which, ok, I get that. But they did not tell me this and the post indicated that they already knew it was panleuk when they asked me to take on this foster--which could certainly explain the weird situation when I picked her up.

I have two resident cats and I am terrified that this cat has brought something. She is 2.5 years old and should be fully vaccinated, and my cats are fully vaccinated (both also about 2 years old). I've kept the carrier she came with in the foster room and she has been mostly quarantined from my resident cats except when my very curious, friendly tuxie got in and wanted to sniff her (she was not happy about this and they did not have contact). There is a gap under the bottom of the door to the foster room that I have, and my cats love sitting there and reaching under because they love playing with foster kittens.

What is the risk to my cats? What do I even do in this situation? I am panicking and feel so deceived by the rescue. I have not spoken to them about this and they still have not told me directly about the true situation. I was under the impression this would be a short, few-days' foster, but now I am feeling like they may have dumped this girl on me. Has anyone gone through something like this? I could really use some advice!
