Need some reassurance

I feel like as of recent there have been so many posts of their sphynx passing, specifically because of hcm. I've just been spiraling and love my two little guys so much I need some help here. My dad is the one who takes care of them, feeds them, and takes them on their yearly vet check ups. But I still am just worried and anxious. Should I ask him about getting them checked for hcm? Is hcm something that can be managed if caught early?
