What do you guys think about piracy?

I see people defending piracy by saying 'we don't have enough money but we'll support writers when we would have money' and 'books are books no matter what, it's supposed to be read in whatever way'. And numerous other excuses.

Do people realize how it hurts and disheartens authors so much? Like imagine pouring your heart and soul into a book and it just gets copied. Money you rightfully deserve? Gone. And let's not act like expecting money for your work is bad or shameful. If authors really just needed their work to be read, they'd provide it for free online. Writing professionally is not a side project, it takes time, energy, research and even money.

Imagine working tirelessly on a project in a company for months, or even years, while people consume it without you getting paid. How unfair is that?

But readers defend buying pirated books. I saw a reel of a best selling author crying cuz her books got pirated and the same readers, people who enjoy HER OWN work telling her to stop crying and doing drama? Hello? Such heartless creatures.

Anyways, what do you guys think?

This might not even get that many readers but...

So I wrote this on a whim yesterday. I've been writing a few chapters here and there in different drafts but didn't plan on publishing any yet. I'm a competitive exam aspirant so I don't really get much time to write, build audiance, post reels and stuff.

This one though, I'm thinking of publishing.

This is a glimpse of the first chapter.

No billionaire/rich leads or anything, so I get it might not be everyone's cup of tea. The ML is also not a rich businessman/mafia or anything, nor will be in future. Age gap is 4 years.

He's an intelligent engineer who has been excellent in his studies all his life and studied from one of the best universities in the country, got a job that would make relatives envious, then...quit it. Now he has been directionless in his life after his bestfriend committed suicide, and preparing for civil services just for his parents' peace of mind.

She's a final year MMBS student, and the little piece of writing of provided is pretty self explanatory about her character.

Imo, they would have a nice character development while they both figure out what to do with their lives. Her overcoming suicidal thoughts after her attempt and everything.

Lmk how it is. Also, if anyone's interested in reading something like this?

(I haven't proofread so ignore the grammatical mistakes. 😭)

How controversial will this be?

If a FMC is going to chose abortion (in a clearly unwanted or unplanned pregnancy), how much are people going to hate on her?

(I'll still write it though and abortion is very much legal in India.✌️)

Lmk ladies.

Does this look AI written?

So as we already know the controversy surrounding AI written books, not only on Wattpad but in paperbacks as well.

Recently, a non reader very helpfully passed a comment about how 'ALL writers using AI to write' while I was talking with my friend about my book.

But I'd genuinely like to know if this feels AI written or not?😭 It made me a bit insecure. 🤧

Is anyone interested in strong and ambitious MCs?

So, I started writing my first book when I was 13, and no it wasn't the usual romance. I used to be an avid reader on Wattpad during the COVID phase and that got me into writing and stuff. My first book is a family thriller with conspiracy, manipulation, kidnapping, all that stuff. I'm getting it printed as a paperback for myself on my birthday this year (I'm kinda proud 🥹) and I KNOW it's not anywhere near the perfection I aspire to have one day but I've edited it for months before I got my final draft and it's something I'm proud of and I've definitely exceeded my expectations with this one.

Now, I'm interested in writing romance and I really want to become an author. Like, a professional one, but currently, I'm looking for polishing my writing skills because I know even though the ideas are quite satisfactory, I still have a lot of work and research to do. I have a tight schedule — coaching, tests, all that stuff. I've been on this sub for months now, (this is my new ID since I had to delete my previous one) and I noticed that Wattpad is becoming all about AI slop, AI covers, plagiarising content, and obviously romanticizing SA and sensitive stuff as well.

I do read on Wattpad but I don't read Indian romances now. Just wanted to ask, as an aspiring writer, should I start with writing on Wattpad and building an audience for myself from there? I'm not even sure if people would read my books there and I simply cannot handle the 'innocent' FMCs and blatant misogyny in those stories. 😭 But this is what seems to be going popular so I have no idea if anyone would even be interested in reading my FMCs...

Like, they're fighting social issues which affect women, children, students, etc, or leading groups, campaigns and stuff for betterment. The MMCs would most probably also not be businessmen for no reason other than to fit in a rich guy and would also have ambitions and stuff.

Please let me know guys if you would like to read something like that because I really want to build a genuine audiance for my future writing projects as well.

Help a fellow dreamer out bbg. 🫶
