Coming in hot when I'm in a bind

Super great lender!

I have had this for while, found it the other day in the old tech drawer at home.

Pressed the power button and it showed low battery. Got it charged enough for it to start to the Garlic OS screen, Had some anime girl on it. But it wouldn't go farther than that.

I tried to follow all the guides I have found on the internet so far, new branded SD card, unplug the battery, charge it with a slow charger, nothing seems to work.

I have tried stock os, muOS, modded stock. it just won't boot.

also when I press the reset button and then the power button the orange LED blinks for a quick second.

is thing just dead? would a new battery fix it? or just go buy a new one?
