Attempt at static landscape cinematography, need technical feedback on composition and exposure

I am student currently learning and would love some technical feedback on this 2:14 video I put together. I wanted to focus on fixed frame (static shots) to capture the movement of the environment. The video features original soundtrack, I am trying to improve my composition and understanding of natural lighting, specifically focus on how sunlight interacts with water and leaves. I edited the movement shots to show the movement from left to right to indicate outward journey. Are the shots interesting enough to hold attention without camera movement? Any tips on color grading for natural skin tones/water reflections?

On May 1st, a public holiday, I embarked on a journey from Bad Harzburg to Hannover. The plan was simple: spend the day off attending a dance workshop and enjoying an open-air DJ set. It was a bright, sunny day, the kind that promises excitement and connection. Yet, despite the dancing, the music, and the crowds, I traveled alone.

Currently, there is no direct train connection between Bad Harzburg and Hannover, so the trip required navigating an indirect route. I filmed the journey in short clips on my iPhone in landscape mode-HD at 60FPS - capturing the mundane details of transit: trains arriving at unexpected platforms, the view from inside the carriage, and the rhythmic passing of the landscape.

The video captures the high points of the day: glimpses of people dancing around the DJ set, the energy of the open air, and a moment on the return trip where a packed train carriage erupted into loud singing. But the video also captures the low points. On the way back, the first train was cancelled, leaving me waiting at Hannover Hauptbahnhof. When the next train to Hildesheim finally arrived, it was overflowing with people. By the time I reached the final leg of the journey back to Bad Harzburg, the train was empty, and I was exhausted.

Visually, this film is a document of a fun day out. It shows a functioning public transport network, people celebrating, and the vibrancy of city life. However, the visuals do not tell the whole story.

To convey my true experience, I composed an original soundtrack. It is a piece for viola played in C-major, ambient, atmospheric, and undeniably sad. I stitched the footage together, allowing the original sounds of the trains, the DJ, and the singing group to bleed through.

The contrast is intentional. While the screen shows people dancing and groups singing in unison, the music reflects the solitude I felt standing amongst them. It reflects the fatigue of the long journey, the frustration of the cancelled train, and the quiet realization that despite being surrounded by life and noise, I was alone from start to finish.

The film is a mirror of my inner emotional state on that day. It is an attempt to express that specific type of loneliness where you are physically present at the party, technically part of the movement, yet emotionally observing it all from a distance.
