Punt or ran into it?

1/2 game, straddle is on to 5

Hero is UTG+1 with 600 in stack

Hero JdJc raises to 20

Called by 2 players in MP and LP

Straddle (UTG) 3! to 105 with stack of 2000

Hero thinks a while before calling

MP and LP fold.

Flop 4d 9d 4h

Villain bets 150 approx

Thought process of hero:

This is an all in or fold situation. I don’t think I can call here because calling causes me to lose control of the SPR, which will be less than 1:1 after calling.

I considered fold pre flop but given previous history with villain (ive tagged him as capable reg who likes to 3 bet bluff, and has shown he is capable of it), I decided to make the call.

Reason for jam is to give maximum fold equity to AQ and AK, and of course I’ll be snapped off by AA KK and QQ. But I was wondering if this is just a bad shove given the relatively narrow 3 bet ranges here of straddle vs UTG.

I figured this might have been borderline acceptable given that there are 12 combos of AQ and AKo respectively, most likely flipping with AQ, AK of diamonds, and possibly KQ diamonds.

Was this just a pure punt?

Easy fold?

Hi guys, was involved in a hand last night where the villain’s line didn’t make much sense, but I really couldn’t find his bluffs as well which I ended up folding to. Let me know what you guys think!

1/2 game
Hero has about 420-440 in stack, straddle is on to 5

Pre flop
UTG raise to 15
Hero calls 15 with Q10 spades in CO
Straddle calls 15

Flop 10 9 x (one club)

Straddle check
UTG bet 15
Hero calls
Straddle calls

Turn Q club

Checks to hero

Hero bets 80, targeting the flush draw as well as non-believing A10/K10
Straddle calls 80
UTG fold

River J spade
Straddler donks out for 200 approximately

Hero tanks before folding

Thought process here: flop bet by EP was very small, which may have allowed villain to continue with bottom pair/ even the backdoor flush draw. When villain turns the flush draw with bottom/2nd pair it may have given him enough equity to continue to the river.

Obviously villain’s king gets there, which I gave him quite a few combos of, along with almost all the suited Kx clubs. Villain is also a capable reg, which I knew was capable of continuing with just a King club which he may have been planning to use to bluff the river should a 3rd club have come.

Therefore, I felt that I couldn’t find any bluffs by villain apart from Ax of clubs which had bottom/middle pair on the flop. Which led me to the fold.

Was there anything else that I missed here? Really appreciate it!

Any way to fold this?

Hi guys, I was thinking about this hand and was wondering if there’s any world to fold this:

This was a time limited cash game, where chips are converted to cash via ICM at the end of the session.

Blinds are at 200/300, my stack is about 40k approximately.
One limper, pre flop HJ raises to 1.8k
Cutoff call 1.8k

Hero with AQo raises to 7.5k

MP, CO call

Pot 23k approx

Flop 8 7 10 rainbow

Checks to me I bet very small to 6k. Just trying to take it down here and representing overpairs.

MP call
CO call

Turn Q

MP check
CO donks for 8k

I think for a while then decide to flat 8k
MP calls

River Q no other draw completes

MP checks
CO bets 22k, Hero has 23k behind
I tank before calling
MP snap calls

>!CO was bluffing, MP shows 10s!<

Honestly, given history so far at the table I was aware that MP and CO both had the possibility of getting out of line. But I knew my image was tight, which was why I did not expect them to call in with pocket 7s and 8s. Perhaps my logic was flawed here but I gave them 10-8s and 87s as a possibility.

Thanks everyone in advance for the feedback!
