11plus Bolton school

Hi everyone,
My child is preparing for the Bolton School Year 7 entrance exam, and I’d love to hear from parents or pupils who have taken it recently.
How difficult did you find the Maths, English and Non-Verbal Reasoning papers?
Were the GL Assessment practice books good preparation?
Is there anything you wish you’d practised more?
Any tips for the interview or the overall admissions process?
If your child got in, roughly how much preparation did they do?
I’d really appreciate any recent experiences or advice. Thanks!

Is the 11+ harder nowadays? Free studying material?

Hi all I'm looking for a little bit of an insight into what the 11+ is like currently as I'm hoping my youngest (9yrs old) will take it.

My eldest daughter passed in 2015, I didn't know much about the 11+ at the time. She didn't do any tutoring or really any practice at all, but luckily still passed well enough to get into her preferred school.

I'd love for my youngest to go to the same school as it was a really great one. However she struggles a lot more in school, especially maths. She's great at English, loves reading and writing, so I'm wondering if she gets a good score in English whether she can get away with doing a little worse in Maths?

I can't afford too much tutoring, if anyone has any suggestions of good online/free ways to help her that would be great! Is there anywhere I can find a list of the current maths topics that are in the test?

Any advice at all would be appreciated!
