iPhone 17 Pro Max silver tiny scratch

iPhone 17 Pro Max silver tiny scratch

Damn I am so fixated on something that I was so careful about. Been using cover since day 1 but that camera area was exposed. My advise , get cheap temu or amazon based transparent film to protect these area in particular for silver. Surprisingly this isn’t the case with orange but silver got an instant scratch out of no where.

Let’s say if I ever take apple care in future. Do they swap to the new phone ? I am thinking when my battery would degraded to below 80%. Just wanted to get some ideas.

Best charging routine for keeping iPhone 17 Pro Max battery healthy for 3–5 years?

Hi everyone,
I recently got an iPhone 17 Pro Max, and I’m trying to keep the original battery as healthy as possible.
Right now, I usually follow the 20%–80% charging rule, because I’ve heard it helps reduce battery wear. However, I’ve also seen a lot of people say they charge from 20% all the way to 100% every day and still have excellent battery health after a long time.
Interestingly, my 11-inch iPad Pro (4th generation, M2) has been charged from 0% to 100% for almost 3 years, with almost daily use, and it still has 91% battery health. That makes me wonder how much of a difference the 20–80 rule actually makes in real-world use.
My goal is to keep the original battery in my iPhone for at least 3 years, ideally with 80% battery health or higher by then. If it drops to 79%, I’ll replace the battery. Assuming it’s still at 80% or above after those 3 years, I’d probably keep the phone for another 2 years before upgrading to a new iPhone.
So I’m wondering:
Is charging from 20% to 80% really worth it in the long run?
Or is charging to 100% regularly not as harmful as many people claim?
What charging routine has given you the best battery health after several years?
I’d especially like to hear from people who have kept an iPhone for 3+ years and can share their battery health and charging habits.
Thanks!

Whats a good slim case for day to day use for 17PM?

After using various cases from brands i the device kept feeling bulky and somewhat uncomfortable to use in longer sessions. And can’t figure out for the life of me whats a slim case that’ll preserve almost the proper build of iPhone 17PM ? Without the case the phone is quite awesome and great to hold although a bit slippery sometimes and the general fear of denting or scratching is there. I mostly used TPU cases, didn’t thought much about silicone coz they don’t age well, I don’t like clear ones to coz it shows fingerprints. Although im open to suggestions. Thanks.

Joined the 17PM party

Took the plunge and got the Silver 17 Pro Max yesterday. Sold my secondary 15 for this upgrade and the difference is noticeable. Looking forward to explore the phone in coming days as my work schedule allows.

Got charger, Tampered glass and case free.

17 ProMax vs 15 ProMax

I am thinking of upgrading for an upcoming big trip for the better camera. I am really a point and shoot person so all of the extra features may be lost on me, but I did play around with the zoom in the store and there is a noticible difference. It's kind of a spur of the moment decision as I hadn't been thinking of a new phone yet. Those that have one, what are your thoughts? Am I doing the right thing or will I kick myself not waiting for the 18.

For clarity: It's a big trip overseas and also a chance to see the eclipse, so lots of photo opportunities

Did iPhone intentionally made all actions difficult?

I am just curious if it is just me. I think iPhone 17 PM has it that all actions that I did just seamlessly on Android is now a headache on iPhone.
Simple copy and paste is a task every time and sometimes a matter of fortune. Correcting text is too
Etc
I do not remember difficulties using my child iPhone 13 a few years ago. Not so many anyway
But now it is sad I can not use phone to do what I am doing with attention to the task itself without extra thoughts and efforts on basic typing and such

Replaced my 13 pro max with a 17PM

So, a few weeks back, I accidentally broke my front display. Even though the phone was still working, it kept stuttering and the charging port was super worn out, so I was really depending on MagSafe to charge it.

The battery was severely depleted, lasting only five hours on a single charge, leaving only 74% of its original capacity. Replacing the battery, screen, and charging port would’ve cost me more than getting a second hand 13pm.Besides, I’m not getting aftermarket replacement parts because I bricked my iPhone XR doing that 7 years ago.

So, I decided to bite the bullet and get a 17 PM. I still love my old phone and will definitely keep using it, but I reckon five years is a good time to think about getting a new one.

Should I install iOS 27 Beta 2 on my iPhone 17 Pro Max?

Hi everyone,
I’m currently running iOS 26.5.2 on my iPhone 17 Pro Max and I’m thinking about installing iOS 27 Beta 2.
For those of you using it on the same device:
Does Beta 2 feel stable enough for daily use?
Have you experienced any major bugs or issues?
Most importantly, how is the battery life after indexing is finished? Is it better than on iOS 26.5.2?
I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences before I decide to update. Thanks!

More storage

I bought my blue 17 pro at launch and absolutely love it. My only regret was getting 256 gig. My husband’s 14 pro is dying, so we ordered a blue 17 pro with 512 gig of storage. He will take mine and I get the 512. Couldn’t beat the trade in deal. 🩵💙

Edit: sorry, I left off the question. Anyone else sorry they did not get more storage?

I bought a dummy model of the iPhone 18 Pro Max.

The seller said there aren’t really any major design changes on the 18, and my 17 Pro Max case actually fits this dummy model perfectly. The aluminum frame and all the hardware buttons are unchanged, and the only differences are the colors and the internal chip.

This magenta looks a bit more purple in person. My wife was really excited when she heard there might be a burgundy red this year, but she’s not a big fan of this magenta. After seeing the dummy unit, she said she’ll probably go with silver instead. She also said this color is kinda hard to match with phone cases. Didn’t expect her to think about a phone purchase from that angle lol.

*case: ESR hybrid

Where can I buy a cheap second hand iPhone 17 proMax?

Trying to upgrade without paying the full new iPhone price. I m not in a rush, so second-hand or refurbished is fine if it comes from somewhere reliable.

Mostly worried about battery health, hidden damage and getting stuck with no return option. Where would you look first?

Price Estimation

How much would you pay for an IPhone 17 Pro Max 512Gb with a replaced screen from an iCloud locked device and also a replaced frame? Battery health is at 100% with less than 100 cycles. I found it on marketplace and I was thinking about asking for a very low price or maybe I shouldn’t even deal with this kind of device with such crazy repair history

AIRPOD ISSUE

Has anyone else noticed this?
I recently upgraded from the iPhone 13 Pro Max to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and I love it so far. The only thing I’ve noticed is that the volume seems much lower when I’m using my AirPods Pro.
I usually listen to music at a very low volume. On my iPhone 13 Pro Max, I only needed about two volume bars, but on my iPhone 17 Pro Max, I have to turn it up to almost halfway to get the same listening level. It’s not a major issue but I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this or if it’s just me.
