Marilyn Monroe "The Springtime of Life", near Mailbu, CA, 1946 photographed by Andre de Dienes

"One day when we were relaxing on the beach between photo sessions, I decided to capture some new expressions I had glimpsed on Marilyn's face. Getting her in close-up, I asked her to react instinctively, without giving herself time to think, to the words happiness, surprise, reflection, doubt, peace of mind, sadness, self-torment...and death."
-- Andre de Dienes quoted from Marilyn Mon Amour

1953 Eakin Comet Jet Car. This crazy vehicle was built by Stanley Eakin in Grove City Ohio. The engine was a 60 horsepower V8 had a single front wheel suspended on a motorcycle fork. It had a top speed of 90 mph which wouldn't break any land records but the coolness was there.

The car attended Many car shows back in the '50s. And definitely had that atomic age flare for the period.
