Bell housing fairly aggressively leaking transmission fluid

2001 Toyota tundra automatic 4.7 V8
Truck has been sitting for a year, just did the timing belt, water pump and LBJ. Wrapped up came back the next day to a fairly significant leak coming from the bell housing. I’m 90% sure it’s tranny fluid because I just changed the oil and it’s super dark. Oil level looks the same as yesterday

1A Auto Parts

Just wondering if any of you have bought from 1A Auto. They have their own brand of “TRQ” parts. I try to buy oem as much as possible but some things just aren’t available anymore

What would you pay?

Hey yall, i have a 2003 Tundra AC. Basic specs are 100% bone stock (Lund Sun Visor was Dealer Accessory), 143k miles, 4x4, TRD Offroad, timing belt done at 135k, new front rotors and calipers, new rear drums, meticulously maintained, Krown rust prevention, and relatively low rust/dents/dings for a 23 year old vehicle. Frame is good, not perfect but totally fine, all good metal with surface rust. Interior is immaculate. Cerakote Headlight Restoration, paint sealant, and Trim Restoration. ALL new fluids at 140k.

Cons are stock radio doesn't work (i blew amp fuse, haven't replaced it yet) and stock muffler/tailpipe is gone so I replaced with a cheap muffler that sits near the middle of the undercarriage and is kind of loud. Tailgate handle broke (notorious issue) but has been replaced, and rear wing windows latch hinges are broken but still work and usable, leak free and rattle free (another notorious issue)

The truck is dang near perfect, truly. I never had any intentions of selling but trying to put 2 car seats in the back is really tough and not the safest driving position. Trying to wait it out until the kids get out of carseat but it'll be a few years. Not sure if I can do that.

I paid 10k for it before the timing belt, and I'm seeing the same vehicles sell for 13-18k with higher mileage. I don't necessarily want 100% top dollar, but its nice enough that I want something really close. Let me know what yall think its worth and if someone wants it, speak up. Could probably work something out. Also open to CrewMax trades under 150k miles and preferably higher trim than SR5, but not very picky. Thanks!

I can send any pics if someone wants something specific.

4.7L timing mark re-alignment

Okay, quick question. Timing belt job on a 2003 4.7l and during the process of changing cam and crank seals, both moved a bit. I have the cams lined up to the "T" marks, and the crank balancer pointed towards the small dimple on the front of the block. Having done some research, I used the T Mark originally and noticed the crank was effectively pointed the way I have it now.

I know I can move them around a bit to get them aligned again, just want to be sure before I pull the pin on the tensioner. Figured someone with some insight could tell me if my marks are correct since I had to do a bit of realignment.

Spark Plug change on a 2003 SR5

Doing a timing belt job on this 2003 Tundra SR5 with the 4.7l. My buddy got a new Tacoma, and I ended up inheriting his Tundra since it needed a decent amount of work.

It was his dad's from about 03-07, and was given to him in high school. It got the occasional battery, air filter and oil change, a radiator a few years ago, general repairs like that. But basically no factory scheduled maintenance since new.

Doing the timing belt for what I can almost guarantee is the first time as well as the water pump and everything else including ball joints and I pulled the plugs to go ahead and replace. I've read that iridium plugs were OE but also saw these mentioned somewhere, so I am genuinely wondering if these are the original plugs from 2003.

Even if they aren't original though, I am blown away that this ran as well as it did. Pretty wild.

Single cab extended bed 6-speed manual still going mostly strong at almost 250k miles baby!

2006 4x4 DC

I just recently did upper ball joints and new shocks. After the job I was getting this weird muffled mooing sound. I found it has something to do with the ABS, so I replaced both driver and passenger side wheel speed sensors with some Aisin ones. Long story short the truck is still mooing and I don’t know what to do about it. The noise only happens when coming to a slow rolling stop and starts around 5mph-8mph. If you know anything about this please let me know🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Does this mean bearing balls got into my timing belt housing?? (Fan pulley bracket bearing)

Anyone have any idea where this leak could be coming from? (2005 Access Cab)

No drips anywhere around but it seems to be concentrated on this spot. There’s no hole in the bottom of the body.

Brake line broke…

Otw home from work today my front passenger brake line broke where you thread it onto the caliper. What would you guys recommend I replace it with? Can I Napa/rock auto or does this absolutely need to be OEM?

Lil back story the truck has been in my family since 2004 my parents owned it then gave it to me its been good to me and my needs but just needed more space for my growing family. As far as the salvage title we had a drunk guy side swipe my wife supposedly 4 other ppl hit him that night but any who insurance refused to pay the shop to do the work so they wrote it off and I bought it back from them.

2WD MY2000 Ball Joints?

I am the original owner and have ~100k miles.: All "on-road". I have done the timing belt twice and have the ball joints periodically inspected and am told they look OK. Should I just get them done for peace of mind, or is it not as important for this highway queen?

Sounds louder than usual

Toyota tundra 2005 V6 1grfe

Howdy I posted here recently about concerning oil color and consistency (to which people said it looks fine) however I’ve noticed a louder sound from my truck recently. It’s a loud engine in general so it’s hard to tell, if anyone knows if it sounds off thank you!

To buy or not to buy

Clean ish. Would be my first. I’ve done a lot of reading on what to look for. But, i’m scared of rust. It’s already been checked by mechanic and the seller has been very transparent about where it’s in need of love. Mechanic said if the crossmember and strut mount are replaced all it should need is a scaling and treatment.

Just curious on what you experienced guys think when you see all the pics!

Does this seem like a fan clutch bracket bearing failure? (2004 Sequoia 4.7)

u/ace0702 — 4 days ago

Sunroof issues?

Anyone had sunroof issues? Was told the sunroof didn’t work, found it totally unplugged. Plugs it in and even with the motor hanging (no resistance from track or gears) it just clicks. Curious if others have had this and fixed it, or if I should source a new motor.

2001 tundra making weird noise after hard start.

Basically the title, sounds like a bearing or something, but I’m wondering what you guys think. It had a rough time starting which is unusual and the check engine light came on after the rough start. Noise started when I was on the road for 10 minutes already. Haven’t checked the light yet cos I’m at work now. I would appreciate any help or thoughts

Am I stupid!

Trying to put a spacer up front with my new 4600’s. Neither side will clear the upper ball joint and I am not able to figure out why. Everything I read said I can install up to 2.5” spacers on stock uppers (these are only 2”). Why am I having such a hard time with this? I have installed spacer lifts on 8 different Toyotas never had this issue.
