If I can talk this down to 11,500 OTD is this a good deal. (desc)

It’s 2wd and I just received photos from dealership the frame looks great, and the timing belt was just replaced by the shop. I plan on just driving it back and forth to work which is around 52 miles a day.

6 inch coil over

Has anyone put on some 6 inch coil overs in their front tires? If so, which ones did you install, what brand? Rugged ridge and rough country don’t have any.

Part # question

Picked up a 2,000 Tundra for $200. Did the timing belt and water pump. Had to replace a few other things. Power steering pump, MAF, wheel cylinder etc... Got it running good with zero leaks. Picked up some replacement front fenders because the originals were rusted beyond repair. These front bumper/fender mounting brackets are trash, but I can't seem to find exact replacements. Each one I find looks really similar, but is stated to belong to early 4Runners and T100s. Any help would be appreciated.

Is this a good deal?

I have the option to buy a 1st gen single cab long bed for 7k . 70k miles, No rust, long bed single cab. Only thing is it has the 3.4 in it. Is this a good price for something like that?

Frame condition

hello again, looking at another frame on an 04 tundra im looking at. only 121k miles and frame was replaced in 2023 and lower ball joints were also done recently. seller is asking 9600 (i want to talk him down to 8something ideally). this video was sent by the seller and it looks good other than a spot at 1:42 that im not sure if i should be concerned about. thanks!!

edit: located in northeast us/upstate ny

edit 2: was chatting with the seller and he said 4x4 doesn’t engage/check engine light is on/sunroof doesn’t work and there’s an exhaust manifold leak so i am probably passing on it :/

PSA. Replace your original leaf packs.

Replaced my oem leafs, u bolts, lower plates and shackles on my 2000 AC. Used oem spec 3/1 packs from ATS in PA. Everything I replaced came from them. Grand total $730 before shipping. Truck got a 1” lift in the rear (most likely just back to stock and my old ones were sagging). Ride got a little bit stiffer. Less body roll, a bit more feedback with the empty bed, haven’t hauled anything yet but I’m excited to throw my camper shell back on and load up my gear. New Bilstein 4600’s all around about a year ago. Feels like a new truck. If your truck feels soft or rear dances a little on bumps, this would probably bring back that sturdy feeling you want.

TLDR, old leaf packs shot, new ones feel great. Truck rides so much better, worth a day of wrenching.

Whose got a crew cab with a flat bed?

Pic attached is made by ai. I’m looking for build ideas. And most flat bed tundras are only the extended cab when looking online for images. So I’m figured somebody in this group owns a flat bed 1st gen crew cab.

Is my Transmission Cooler ok?

2004 Toyota Tundra full cab with tow package. About to do a road trip towing my 3800lb travel trailer. Took it to our mechanic to do a bumper to bumper inspection and verify we were good to go. They said "send it!". So the fins on this are ok?

1st Gen Tundra Bumpers!

Hey guys, just wanted to share some bumpers I have been making for these awesome trucks. They are 100 percent designed in SOLIDWORKS around 3D scan Data that I scanned myself! I know there isn't a huge amount of aftermarket bumpers for these trucks and for the last year or so I have been selling them as a weld it yourself kit. They start at $675 shipped if you live in the lower 48!

What do you guys think about them?

Weird body style Tundra

Hello! A friend of mine at work offered to sell me a 2006 toyota tundra in the access cab configuration. It’s 4x4 and has 52,000 original miles and the frame is mint and has been undercoated. Here’s where things get interesting though. The truck has been imported from Japan and has been modified into a hearse. I’ll show pictures of what it looks like for reference but this thing looks awesome. My question is my friend is asking 12,000 dollars for the truck. I know these carry a premium but the bed being modified worries me about the value. What are your guys thoughts and opinions on it?

2006 V8 Tundra

My dad’s neighbor is selling his 2006 Tundra with 240,000 mil. Apparently someone drilled a hole in his gas tank and stole the gas. He wants to sell it instead of worrying about replacing the tank. He said the ball joints and struts should be looked at. It’s in really good condition. I am unfamiliar with Tundras but the little research I’ve done says it’s one of the better older models. I would appreciate any advice on going further with price negotiations or whether this gonna cost more to get running again than it’s worth in its current state. He has not given me any asking price. Quick Google search says innits current state $1500-$3000 and $2000 to replace the tank, ball joints and struts…

Adapter? (OEM Radio)

This is an oem radio for a 2001 tundra and I’m trying to get it to work in my 2002 tundra. Are their adapter to make this work or do I have to go out and find a specific 2002 radio?

Thanks!

Weird skipping/clunking sound

Weird skipping/clunking sound from the front end when I let off the brakes from a stop. It happens both in forward and reverse. The brakes look fine, and the lower ball joints seem to be in good shape. I already picked up replacement ball joints just in case, but I’m starting to think it could be something else.

Has anyone experienced something similar or have any ideas what I should check?
