Can't find proper DC cable

Hello again Reddit.

I have a work laptop of an Acer 5-15. It stopped taking a charge after being from job site to job site over a couple years. I've tested the AC adapter and get the typical 19.5V. However, I can't read that 19.5V anywhere coming into the laptop. I've tried the negative lead on the pins and the copper grounds, with red on any of the pins and get no voltage readings. I tried the negative lead on the barrel of the plug with red on any pins and still get no voltage.

Now, because I can't seem to find the exact IH5JT DC-In cable anywhere, I'm wondering what the white wire/pin might be used for here? It seems any other chargers I find are only 2/4 pin with black and reds. I wouldn't mind splicing a new jack or custom drilling plastic to fit new plugs, but I can't find 5 pin DC cables that might work.

Y'all got any input before I just have to wait for my company to bother ordering a new laptop and setting it up for me? On the clock with no other work right now LOL

Lenovo Legion 5 (Code 43)

My Lenovo Legion 5 (2+ years old), NVIDIA Driver (GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU) was forced stopped by windows due to reported error (Code 43) since the 18th August, 2026 (yesterday as of writing). Laptop's average temperature when idle is 54° Celsius, cannot check when running a game as Laptop crashes. Resulting in external monitors failing to connect to laptop, app crashing, freezing, and PC crashes.

In an attempt to fix the issue:

- Went into device manager and disabled then re-enable the graphics card.

- Checked the bios was up-to-date, it is.

- Tried to use an external ISO bootable EFIUSB to repair windows.

- Opened internals and cleaned dust from laptop.

- Attempted to revert to older NVIDIA Driver, version: 610.74

- Both Hard and Factory Reset laptop.

No successful result. I believe the issue is either the GPU is dying or a faulty GPU. Wanted to get a second opinion before going into a shop.

Image 1: Depicts Code 43 located through Device Manager

Image 2: Depicts failure to repair device and finding of Log file

Image 3: Depicts Weird squares to appear in taskbar right before crash

Image 4: Depicts internals, yes the amount of dust is BAD, please do not comment on it after the fact, I have never cleaned out internals until yesterday despite intending to over a year ago because my Father said we'd do it together or we'd use the warranty to give the laptop a check over, (we didn't) and because the laptop was bought with parents money and the fact I was a minor at the time my parents did not allow me to do any internal cleaning or any self repairs. Yes, in hindsight I should have just done the cleaning anyway.

Lastly, if the is any non-anonymized images or details please let me know, I'm still new to anything PC related.

Thanks, Spot.

Downgrading to windows 10

Hello, I just bought a pc not too long ago and it came with windows 11. A few games I want to play require secure boot but my pc crashes when I enable it. I’ve been trying to find a solution for it and I have just given up. I was wondering if downgrading to windows 10 would fix my issue while simultaneously not causing anymore issues because I wont need to enable secure boot anymore. Thanks

LG OLED65C1AUB Won’t open/download apps except Netflix

Within the last 48 hours all of a sudden my LG OLED65C1AUB tv stopped worked normally. It started with HBO not loading or opening its content, and now I can’t open any app except Netflix. Things I’ve tried included:

-restarted my router
-restarted tv (via remote on/off)
-Factory reset my tv.
-changed tv location in settings from US to Canada: however, when I change it back to US I cannot accept the user agreement as it says it’s “unable to load user agreements” because a server error has occurred. When I try again it then says “Sorry but the user agreements can’t be downloaded at this time. Please check your Internet connection and try again.”
-changed a setting in my router (via my eero app) to disable ipv6
-ensured IPV6 was disabled on my tv
-Checked for TV updates (there were none available)
-I try to connect to my wifi, I seemingly do, but then when I click on something that requires wifi (like trying to click my LG profile from within the top right corner of the tv Home Screen, it tells me I’m not connected to the Internet?!)

My tv is basically unusable at this point with the exception of Netflix and I have no idea what else I can do. Please for the love of god I hope someone can help me.

EDIT: have also since tried connecting to my phone’s hotspot to no avail.

my pc won't connect to home wifi, but connects to hotspot fine (albeit a little iffy on the connection with hotspot)

(hopefully no karma limit i made account today just to get help)

so my pc that i've used for about 10 months has decided that my home wifi isn't good enough, and stopped connecting to it. (well it's "connected" but it shows no internet and i can't do anything.)

it only stopped connecting after i turned on BT and connected some headphones. so i tried turning off bluetooth, nothing. now i'm stuck with no wifi :/

here is everything i tried:

- restarting my PC

- removing and re-adding my wifi

- all the ipconfig stuff like ipconfig /release

- waiting a day

- changing wifi adapter properties and then changing them back

and so far...nothing. i'm stumped, what can i do? (if i need to reset, will that most likely fix the issue?)

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

The issue initially arose while playing Valorant and has since occurred frequently. Despite attempts to reset, an error message indicates that no reset has taken place. Is there a method to resolve this without visiting a service center?

Should I be worried about this noise my fan is making?

My fan/pc has always made noises in general but I dismissed them because my PC is cheap and a prebuilt, but today I decided to clean it with an electronic duster and got scared when I heard this noise, it was unlike any I’d heard before. Is it something I should be worried about?

HP monitor randomly stopped working

It’s a HP M24fe FHD monitor my operating system is windows 11

Instead of starting up when plugged in, it displays this black screen. Theres no damage to the screen itself and I’ve only had it for a few months so idk what the problem could be. It was brand new

keyboard problems making it impossible for me to use laptop

multiple keys are not responding (B, F, G, R, T, V) and some stop responding briefly until pressed enough (O, L, down arrow key, 9, period). pressing F, G, and D at the same time also causes PrintScreen to respond, even though two of those letters themselves don't. i don't remember changing any keyboard settings since i got this laptop (late 2024), and all of the keys themselves are clean and are not stuck. i've tried various fixes between restarting my laptop, enabling and disabling toggle/filter keys, reinstalling my keyboard drives, and etc. i'm at my wits end, i use this laptop for work and school and i really can't afford to buy a new one right now nor will my parents pay for repairs

computer probs

im not understanding what i am doing wrong 😭 i got my flash drive, plugged it into a different laptop to download my wifi drivers from the asus website (my motherboard is an ASUS Prime B550M-A WiFi II AMD Micro ATX Motherboard with PCIe 4.0, WiFi 6, ECC Memory, HDMI 2.1, RGB Header ). then i unzipped the file while still on that laptop because the first time i tried i forgot to unzip it and it wouldnt let me unzip them on my pc so i had to go back and retry. after i unzipped those files i brought the flash drive back to my pc and tried to run the exe/application, it gave me the option for it to make changed to my device and i chose yes. nothing followed so i restarted and im still in the same spot. i don’t want to pay another $100 for a simple problem i can fix myself if i learn how to. i struggle with this tho😭
