Did you know Genki was making a rail shooter for the M2?

In late 1995, Genki showed off pre-rendered footage of what could be possible on M2. These were all shown off in the 1996 issues of Japan's 3DO Magazine. Edge and Next Generation would report in early 1997 that there were rumours of Genki making a game akin to Panzer Dragoon.

When the M2 was being shown off at various tech expos in late 1997, one of the games on display was a scrolling shooter called "Memory Breaker", along with a port of Sega's Digital Dance Mix and the dolphin demo. This was around when they were marketing it as a professional machine and Panasonic were clear at the event these wouldn't officially release, rather they were just there to show off the tech.

I hope someday the Memory Breaker demo gets found, or at least footage of it in action.

hi 3DO community. I finally have a good news.!

Finally, we’re in the final testing stage of our Raspberry Pi case, designed to support the Raspberry Pi 3B, 4 and 5 — all in a single enclosure!

We’re absolutely thrilled to share with the community the very first prototype of the M2 FZ-21S Nano Raspberry Housing/ Shell/Case.

It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re very happy to finally reach this milestone and share it with you all.

More exciting news is coming soon, so stay tuned — there’s a lot of good stuff on the way!

We can’t wait to show you what’s next!

The 3DO Decomp Project

I've kicked of a project to decomp and release any and all 3DO retail releases. All code generated will be buildable for and run on the original hardware. It will all be released under the GPL license allowing for people to port to other platforms. You can read more about the project from the Patreon post.

You can watch the work (a bulk of the initial work is automated using custom tooling I've built + clankers) at https://twitch.com/3dodev I'll also stream the manual work necessary to complete each title once it gets to that point.

Those who support the project financially will get a say in the direction via voting on what should be worked on. To start however I chose Need For Speed.

I used Road Rash, PDWT, and Return Fire as test beds for my tooling which you can see over on YouTube: https://youtu.be/U4gIbjwjQW8 I'll be releasing those once I'm finished polishing them off.

Crown arcade ode booting problems

I recapped my entire 3do, no trace rot or anything. When I boot up my 3do it doesn't always turn on and the green light flashes on and off. I have to cycle the power multiple times in order for it to show video and boot up the menu. I've tried multiple usb sticks/sd cards and it has the same exact problem. What's weird is that with the cd rom drive connected the unit works flawlessly. I'm at a loss. Reflashed the firmware and everything.
