Best "blank slate" crusade?

Hi,

Relatively new to this crursade stuff, but i want to create something for me and my brother that we can play when we meet, which is not really often. As i have understood it, generally agendas replace secondaries and each faction has an addistional "side quest". But the different crusades do on top of this have their specific missions rather than the usual primary missions, and an overarching story with its own goals.

My question is, which crusade had the most "Blank slate/create your own story" missions? Is it possible to just use standard missions and flesh them out with some lore and special rules? That is kind of my current plan, with the Tyrannic war common agendas.

Hope this was understandable, and i appreciate any help!

"Battle honour of your choice"

My group is having a discussion on this and we're not sure on the consensus. Do you guys rule "Battle honour of your choice" related rewards/requisitions (World eater lesser reward, space wolves requisition, sisters requisition etc) as allowing you to choose any trait/relic etc they have access to, or that you still need to roll (If you're using rolls) on the tables for generating traits if you choose a trait.

Fresh 40K Crusade Discord starting for 11th Edition — new players welcome

Looking for players for a fresh Warhammer 40K Crusade Discord — starting fresh for 11th Edition

Hey everyone!

With 11th Edition on the horizon, we’re starting fresh with our Warhammer 40K Crusade Discord and looking for more players who want to jump into a long-term narrative campaign from the ground floor.

The goal is simple: build a fun, active Crusade community where armies actually grow, stories matter, rivalries form, and every battle feels like it affects something bigger than just the final score.

We’re planning to start fresh for 11th, so this is a great time to join whether you’re completely new to Crusade or you’ve been playing narrative 40K for years.

What we’re aiming for:

  • A beginner-friendly Crusade environment
  • Narrative-driven campaigns with persistent army progression
  • Discord-based organization and scheduling
  • Flexible games so people with real lives can still participate
  • A mix of casual, cinematic storytelling and tactical games
  • Players who care about having fun, not just crushing people
  • A fresh start when 11th Edition launches

You don’t need to be an expert. You don’t need to have every rule memorized. If you like the idea of your army earning scars, titles, grudges, relics, and a place in an ongoing story, you’ll probably fit right in.

We’re especially looking for people who enjoy the narrative side of 40K: writing little lore blurbs, building rivalries, making your warlord feel important, and watching your force evolve over time.

The campaign itself will be built to grow with the server. We’re starting fresh, keeping things approachable, and then expanding as 11th Edition settles in.

If you’ve ever wanted to join a Crusade from day one instead of feeling like you’re late to someone else’s campaign, this is the perfect time.

Comment or message me if you’re interested

Cross Crusade Force Questions

So I posted earlier asking about having Brood Brothers Auxiliary units and Final Day units in my overall Genestealer Cults Crusade Force, but the question I have now is whether or not I can use the same Tyranid units with all their upgrades from the Genestealer Cults Crusade or if they are supposed to be separate units and loose the upgrades and experience if I field them in a Tyranid Crusade? Or since both the Tyranids and Genestealers are part of the Tyranid/Great Devourer faction that I can add Tyranids to my Genestealer Cults Crusade Force when I get enough points to increase my limit to have two separate armies in my Crusade Force?

Crusade in 11th from the Q&A

They’ve just said in the Q&A crusade won’t be in codex but “crusade like things will come in packages like the maelstrom release that gave crucible of champions”. Thoughts?

So there may still be hope for the more granular army/unit xp, tracking, traits ect

And yes once again we can just use this editions stuff ported over…

New player campaign

Hello everyone!

My son and I want to start playing Warhammer at home. I decided to create a short campaign to learn how to play and make it more fun to play games with a storyline, rather than just for fun. I'm playing Space Marines, and my son is playing Tyranids. We'll also be starting our own Crusades. My son really likes the idea of the Tyranids' versatility and adaptability, which fits perfectly with the Crusade. I'll handle all the paperwork. I've come up with a short storyline about a small Hive Fleet remnant arriving in a remote subsector consisting of several planets, and how the Space Marines try to defend the planets. The first couple of missions will be a tutorial, with a small number of units, like in the quick start guide. Even scores aren't a big concern, and wins and losses can be somehow compensated for later.

And I wanted to ask more experienced players what I should pay attention to? What will be important at the beginning of the game, in the campaign and crusades?

Model Customization

Do you guys ever personalize the models that you consistently use in crusade or have had in a crusade like "oh i have this model he has been in a few crusades now let me customize him" if so I'm curious to know and/or see what other people have done with their models sorry if this is vague but like for example adding skulls to a model to show how many kills they've gotten though out crusades

Ork crusade rule questions - First time player

Hello!

We're about to have our first crusade battle but my friend, whose playing orks, and I had some confusion about the ork crusade rules. I was hoping to get some clarifications here :)

Our group is starting with a 1500 point roster

* He has Ghazghkull Thraka in his list, which is an epic hero and must be the warlord when he goes into battle... does that also mean Ghazghkull has to be the Waaagh!Boss of the crusade roster? Or can he pick a different, normal Warboss to be his crusade leader to gain experience & upgrades?

* Stages of the waaagh! This is where we had the most confusion. Does each stage unlock the requisition ability listed, such as stage 2's Kustom Jobs? OR does entering stage 2 give a free Kustom job?

- He wanted to try and use the Kustom Job requsition in Stage 1. Basically is he allowed to do that or not?

- Can he only ever apply one Kustom Job in Stage 2? Or as much as he wants if it's an unlocked ability now?

That's all we had going into our first battle! Let us know if there's any other Ork quirk we might've forgotten :)

Anyone else feeling pessimistic about crusade in 11th?

Maybe it’s just that we haven’t seen all of it yet but the Dominatus cards that look to be replacing crusade just seem not it. The whole “every game is competitive and narrative” feels like it’s gonna be a big flop. And if crusade rules are gonna be gone from codexes like people are thinking, there’ll be no point getting them since within 3 months they’ll be updated and errata’d so much.

Hopefully the crusade rules from 10th will at least carry over with minimal fixes, but overall I’m just very skeptic of how 11th is looking.

Homebrew duel rules

Did anyone ever tried to make a duel mini game of sorts? Let's say that I wanted to have a post game event where the infantry warlords from 4 players were locked in an arena of sorts and needed to duke it out. Are there any homebrew rules or a game system that I could try to reuse for 40k?

I'm starting a Crusade for Armageddon, but I am sorely outdated on Crusade Roster options.

Does anyone have an updated 10th edition fillable PDF or Google Doc-style roster? Specifically, I'll be playing Knights and Marines (with maybe some Agents thrown in), but the Imperial Knights crusade mechanic has me a little overwhelmed and I'm hoping to find a roster specifically compatible to them.
