In 1986, Halle Berry represented Ohio in the Miss USA pageant and finished as the first runner-up. She then competed in Miss World, becoming the first African-American contestant for the U.S. and placing sixth.

40 years ago today, a Dallas oil executive and rancher took a shower. FIO if you know why this was such a big deal
For context, this was the infamous "Shower Scene" that re-introduced the character of Bobby Ewing on the TV show "Dallas". This was noteworthy because it brought the character back to life after the actor (the great Patrick Duffy) decided to return to the series.
