Well, I know its not approved, but Im pretty proud.

Been working on this suit for months at this point, its been a long, patient process but I am finally almost at a point where Im happy to let it be. I know its not the most screen accurate out there, and its nowhere near 501st level, but Im happy with it and it really has become something a lot more than just a budget Vader suit. Since the last time I posted pictures of this costume here, Ive gotten a new helmet which is a lot more comfortable and looks cooler. Now, the only thing Im waiting on to arrive is a microphone with a pre amp for the voice changer, and its all good to go for a Comic Con! Im so excited to finally have this thing done! One day I aspire to be in my local garrison, because there really is something powerful about displaying how even the bad guys can do good.

First costume advice

I’ve been looking at joining my local garrison with a phase 2 rots Commander Cody but most in the garrison are stormtroopers, mandos, or phase 1 clones. Don’t want to stand out and get little trooping time by being the only phase 2 clone. Any advice? Should I stick to my plan or maybe adjust for the garrison?

Submission Ready?

Just want to know if this suit seems ready. I'm aware that for a full opinion I'd need to submit shots of all angles! But any advice is great! Thank you!

Daft Punk cosplayer here with a question about voice boxes

First pic is me at Halloween two years ago! I’d like to remake my helmet this year but in the white and gold variant from the Grammys as shown in the other two photos. I’ve always thought it would be cool to put some kind of voice changer box or something inside of the helmet and make me a real robot, but I haven’t found anything with great reviews and wasn’t sure if it would be worth a gamble.

Have any of you tried something like this before? A voice modifier in a mask/helmet? If so, what do you recommend?

Thanks in advance! Robots 4 evurr

Help with first costume

So I’ve wanted a set of Mandalorian armor to wear to conventions for some time but I have absolutely no idea where to start. I don’t own a 3d printer and I’m weary about making it myself out of foam or PVC because I want it to look good. Does anyone have any advice, any would be greatly appreciated. I apologize in advance if this isn’t the right place to ask

Located in EU, looking for boots!

For my first build, I'm searching for a pair of boots that would be suitable for approval. I'm working on a Bridge Crew build with the hopes to upgrade to either TIE Pilot and/or Imperial Gunner in the future.

I found the Brandit Knobelbecher Boots (see images) so far as a budget friendlier option, but would these be good enough, or should I be looking for someone who makes them specifically for 501st Legion costumes (which may cost me more)?

I'm all ears if anyone knows of any resources for boots located within the EU. Recently my country has been hit with a new type of tax that increases the import fees on anything coming from outside the EU, so I'm hoping to build my costume primarily with parts/help from within the EU.

Damage or blaster damage

Finishing up my chest piece (had a small 3d printer so its 4 separate pieces currently) and after spray painting and touch ups i started to add a bit worn look but I wanted to add battle damage or blaster fire. Does anyone know how to do that?

It’s fun to be part of a Senate Security matched set

Nobody knows who the hell we are, but we look official and the blue is gorgeous! It’s been making 3-person troops way more fun. Now if we could just get that armor CRL up…

ID-15745 (shorter) in WampaWear, and ID-73340 (me, taller) in my own work. PilotBay hats on both. I also made both our Andor-style rank bars.

First Helmet Finished

3D printed. Not looking to get it approved, but just wanted to share since it took way longer than expected. I finished this helmet a while ago, but I wanted to post an update since I had posted unfinished versions of it before.

Originally, I wanted it to be a shock trooper design, but I ended up doing a 501st design since the paint job would've been too hard for me.

The hardest part was probably painting the mouth and stripe on the back of the helmet. Basically just the gray parts, since they were hand-painted. That's also a reason why the two gray colors are inconsistent.

Overall, I think it turned out pretty well.

You might notice a little bit of blue on the mouth as well. I only noticed it was there after the photos were taken, and I just ended up scraping it off.

The first pic is without a visor.

Hi all, I'm the widow of TK656, aka Phil Yellott, and I need some advice.

I'm hoping some of y'all who were in the 501st before 2021 remember Phil fondly. He was really the sweetest, friendliest, kindest, person who ever lived. He was part of Star Garrison, and later, Great Lakes Garrison.

I think it's time for his costuming to go back out into the world and be enjoyed. I realize sales are not allowed here (hence, the photo of him out of costume).

Can someone tell me the appropriate place where they are allowed? I don't even know where to start... and this is a really emotional decision. A little bit of handholding through the process would be very much appreciated.
