Turns out Stratos data center isn’t even the big one

Caroline Gleich discovered two other hyperscale data centers in progress in Utah, Joule and Creekstone:

“Last night I learned Utah doesn’t have just one hyperscale data center in development.

We have three: Stratos. Joule. Creekstone. Together: more than 30 gigawatts of proposed power load.

Utah’s entire electricity demand is roughly 4 gigawatts. While we’ve been focused on Stratos, construction on Joule has begun.

The Joule data center is in Millard County, and it’s a 12 GW campus on 4,000 acres near Delta. Developers broke ground in November.”
