I was at the Birmingham show on Sunday, and when Start Over got picked there were SO many grumbles around me and I genuinely don’t understand why 😭

I feel like some people forget that not everyone is following the tour around or going to multiple shows. A lot of people can only afford to go to one show or the only one close enough to them, and maybe they just genuinely wanted to hear Start Over live?? Not everyone is choosing based on what was played at the last five shows lol.

What makes it even more annoying is that I saw people on 5sos twt (cough a certain group cough) who weren’t even at the Raleigh show purposely voting for Start Over because they were mad Raleigh had the chance to get Chest or WD and they didn’t want them to get it. Then the next night some of those same people were saying Bham “fumbled” by picking Start Over??

The whole thing is just giving entitled/ungrateful. I also really wish the voting site was location based somehow, because why are people who aren’t even at the show getting a say in what that crowd hears?? I swear some people in this fandom have gotten way too comfortable acting like every show is supposed to cater to them just because they have "on tour" in their handles.

Ok, we all here agree that 5sos fans on twt are fucking wild, but theres something different about these luke stans man. I saw a post some time ago that was talking about lukes broken finger and a normal person would be like 'damn, that suck' and thats it, but these luke stans were talking like 'oh my god my poor baby finger 😭😭 he needs to get all the rest possible to get better, im so sad for him :((( ' which. Why are we reacting like that man broke his entire hand or is actively dying? Its a broken finger, it shouldnt cause this type of reaction, im more surprised that this mf didnt broke anything else. And when u point it that this type of overreaction is weird they act like u jusy told them to die or smt, they say tgat theyre just worried about him and want to make sure he takes care of himself but like. Thats no being worried like a normal person would be worried, thats like what my mom would react if i broke a bone, and like, they arent his moms. Ive seen people babying those man a lot on twt but i dont think ive seen them being babied THIS BAD before...

She's one of the girls Calum's been seeing on this tour, but apparently they briefly dated last year? Shica and Mali-Koa were following her on Instagram last year and she was tweeting about dating a bassist around the OCO era. She deleted her Twitter and they all unfollowed each other on Insta only for him to follow her again during this tour again. It's also worth mentioning that he's been potentially seeing her best friend too after that "breakup". AMH was allegedly talking about her when she had mentioned in her old TikTok from last year how it feels weird to see your ex move on with a "normal" girl. Some people also saw them on dates early last year and that's why she went private on Instagram. Someone who claims to know them shared this online, but I'm not seeing many people talk about it. Does anyone know more about this?

i find it so baffling the way that 5sos cant seem to crack the code on how to do thr surprise/secret songs. they were doing good for a while, rigging it so nostalgia votes didnt count anymore and the newer songs would win, but with start over winning tonight i am really starting to not get what theyre doing. i went to the hershey show, the baltimore show, and th buffalo show and i was really confused by the results for the first two. i don't understand why the guys wont play newer songs, make the options all new songs, or at least post sgfg songs, or at least look happy with the songs that win. i really want to be happy with the songs i got, but disconnected? try hard? come on. my favorite albums are the most recent 3, so i really was upset to find out they are neglected in this tour. if anyone else has some thoughts about this, i would love to hear because i feel as though im either the only one thinking this, or everyone else thinks the same way

edit: also i want to talk a bit about the solosos reaction. i do not blame them one bit for taking that shit off. when i looked around during hufwulf, i was the only one singing every time. you tell me how you would feel if you looked around at YOUR own show and no one knows your song. i am the biggest solosos fan but i cannot blame them whatsoever.

5SOS are nice and are always loving toward their fans. Their private lives don’t concern you, and bullying 5SOS or anyone else is not okay. They’re were allowed to also make decisions and if u don’t like how they run their concerts maybe keep it to urself they are the artists. Maybe find a hobby instead of making snark pages.
Don’t call yourself a fan if you think this is okay. They’re not predators; they’re sweethearts. Maybe go seek therapy if you think having a snark page and then calling yourself a fan is okay.

The username kinda makes it a little bit obvious but i was DEEP in the dsmp trenches back in the day (and i'll say that i did lurk around leaktwt) and the 5sos fandom is my first fandom that ive fully immersed after the dsmp, so i made fan account, interact more with the fanbase itself and not just lurk around etc.

But like, idk if its bc the times changed but this fandom is Really Bad at holding people accountable, not only the band itself but the fandom as a whole. Ive remember that one Ella account that wished that S lost their baby and she was pretty fatphobic and there was some accounts that were in the gc with Ella and they apparently "didnt know" about the things she was saying and they are still getting interaction with MUKTIPLE fans like they also dont agree with what was said in that chat considering that they LITERALLY REACTED WITH LAUGHING EMOJI AND LMAOS??? And most people that interact with those accounts are L lanes which?? U dont have to like S and her relationship with L, but the fact that they spoke about a unborn child like that is kinda wild to me?? And idk if this is a mega woke take but i dobt think i would like to interact with an account that wished harm upon a random baby. I dont even NEED to begin to say about the racism situation bc. Oof. That was horrible. Like, they didnt post ANYTHING besides that one stupid "we dont like discrimination" post that didnt even adress the fact that the band was interacting with a racist account??? Like, not even a single "were sorry to interact with that account and we have changed since then" like, its not that fucking hard???? And even more recently, with this whole solosos thing, like, they OBVIOUSLY SAW the post, cant they just come and stop being cowards and just say WHY they did that?? ...anyways. this fandom is horrible, and i can say it bc i was a dsmp fan. And again, maybe its bc i havent been in a fandom for such a long time that im not really used to a lot a thing but dear christ. A lot of people need to think more. Concert? Phenomenal. Staff? Amazing. Fans? Almost all lovely. Except for one, and I have not been this annoyed in a while… so here I am.

She spent the ENTIRE TIME complaining, from the Q&A all the way to the end. Kept repeating over and over “I’ve been to five shows and they keep choosing Start Over”. Talking about how she shoves past people to get where she wants, just all kinds of crap. I wanted to turn to her and just tell her to shut up because we’ve been listening to her complain again and again for HOURS. If you have the privilege to go to FIVE shows and get the full pit for each, I don’t want to hear a single complaint from you.

Obviously I don’t know her, so this isn’t me saying “I hope she sees this and feels awful”, this is me saying PLEASE, anyone who sees, don’t do this. It entirely breaks everyone out of the fun, and it’s a bit out of touch. This was definitely my only show.

I know there’s been a LOT of frustration lately, especially with the tour changes, and I completely understand why people are upset. Fans spend money, make plans, take time off, book flights/hotels, and get excited for these shows, so it’s totally valid to feel disappointed when things change.
But at the same time, I feel like some of the hate and negativity has gotten really intense. 😭 We have no idea what’s happening behind the scenes or what they’re dealing with, and I genuinely believe they’re trying their best to make things work. Why would they purposely F things up? That’s not them.
You can be disappointed without tearing them apart. You can want answers without assuming the worst of them. These are still four people who have given us SO much music, memories, and experiences over the years.
After everything they’ve done for us, I just think it’s worth remembering why we became fans in the first place.
Obviously, hold them accountable when it’s deserved, but let’s also give them some grace and be thankful that we still get to experience 5SOS at all. We don’t have to agree with every decision to appreciate the people behind it.

I’ve been thinking and even commented on some posts about the whole “Solosos situation” and honestly, I think some of the reactions are a little concerning.

Being disappointed that the solos have been removed? Completely fair. I’d be disappointed too. And I absolutely think the communication around the change could have been better.

But the level of entitlement I’m seeing from some fans is wild, someone even saying they “demand” them to be put back on, guys this is wrong.

Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t the majority of tickets before the setlist was even released? The solos were not the reason people were promised entry to the show, and from what I’ve heard there’s a genuine reason for shortening the set because of extreme heat, hurricane seasons and so on.

You can dislike the decision without acting like the band has personally wronged you.
I also really don’t understand the “why are you defending/enabling the band?” mentality. You don’t have to defend everything they do, but you also don’t have to condemn everything they do. There is a middle ground and people are allowed to see it that way.

Fans are allowed to be disappointed. The band are allowed to make changes to a live show. The team could communicate better. All of those things can be true at once.
Not every show is going to be identical, and not every decision is going to please everyone. That’s part of seeing a live band.
Some of y’all are holding pitchforks over four songs when there is an entire concert happening around them.
Criticism is fair. Disappointment is fair.

But this level of outrage and entitlement over a setlist change really needs some perspective. You’re allowed to be upset, no one is telling you not to be but there’s a level of acceptance for it, this time next year? Hell there might even be another tour and this shit will be old news.

P.S. one time I was waiting for them to come to stage and they were late af, standing tickets whilst waiting for a long ass time? Guys I was tired and slightly annoyed. But when once they entered stage, I had a great fkn time.

For years, people have claimed that the account was connected to the boys, and apparently, back in the day, they would even interact with their groupies through it. What I find really interesting though is how quickly GIP seemed to panic and disappear after the whole A group chat situation happened.

So, for anyone who was around at the time and actually interacted with the account: what made you guys so convinced that some of the members were behind it? And if you were one of the groupies who met them through GIP, what was the whole experience actually like?

idkkk guys im kind of on latam's side here like i know setlists can change or whatnot.. but my thing is you present a show with a story that has certain song placements as an integral part and then just kind of remove it with no explanation and keep moving forward?? i understand why they did it for camden cause of like time constraints or whatever but it should've been a one time thing?? why does it look like they gon be moving like this for the rest of the tour and then people are gonna be paying the exact amount for like a "here bitch damn" ass show.. I expected more songs from everyone’s a star to make the setlist, and expected more than 1 5sos5 song to survive the setlist. They keep putting ancient songs on it, which i get that they feel like they have to because that’s what people expect, but when else are we going to get a chance to hear EAS songs live other than the EAS tour? NEVER. And that’s very clear from the 5sos5 treatment on the tour.

Their new albums are so much better than their old ones, but for the sake of nostalgia and the general public, those are sacrificed on the setlist.

They got rid of waste the night but replaced it with don’t stop. It should have been replaced with an EAS song on the EAS tour.

I think real hardcore fans would have LOVED to hear more new songs, let’s be honest so so so many of the old songs could be cut and people would get over it pretty fast, and they’d actually be able to play the new music that they worked on and that fans love rather than the old stuff they’ve been playing for a decade.

If they continue to cater to the nostalgia then they will be stuck in an endless cycle of playing mainly old songs, some from the album they’re touring, and 1 or 2 from the albums before, which won’t be good in the long run.

This could be controversial as i know lots of fans love the nostalgia of old 5sos but come on.

I heard so much about clubsos but nothing really at the same time. Did anyone meet them after or anything? Also do you guys think clubsos was just a one time thing? or will they do it again. i think it’d be cool to do multiple shows like that but i feel like if they did then it would just be for festivals.

Hey, so, what the fuck is going on? It's the third or fourth show that they removed the solo songs from the setlist, and not only that, now we have to choose between listening to an old, mostly unplayed song and a solo MEDLEY, not even the full segment.

That takes away 15 minutes from the concert and a significant part of the whole lore of the tour. The setlist went from 27 to 23 songs. I don't think this makes sense at all, considering that we paid for something and we'll be receiving less and a whole other experience?? Now the whole breakup act won't make sense. If thay had a rotating setlist all throughout a tour, then it would be fine to be switching stuff up, but removing four songs that have an important role in the storytelling is crazy.

Besides that, our shows would already be different considering they're not bringing the whole structure to Latin America. We won't get the limo or the EAS walk, the stage structure is completely different.

And it's not the first time either, in 2023 we didn't have the sauces on stage, and to rub salt on the wound, after the LATAM shows they released a video saying that the tour was finally starting during the North American leg. It was almost like a paid rehearsal.

I'm honestly tired of their differential treatment, and I know I'm not the only one. I've been to all their shows in Brazil, none of them were even in my state, and stuff like this keeps happening. On top of all that, we have to read and hear people saying we can't complain because this or that, when clearly they treat us differently. And as always, I doubt they'll say something.

Disappointed, but not exactly surprised, unfortunately.

The guys are going to lose fans with the way they’re going.

I’ve seen posts about people leaving the fandom and not getting tickets to future tours because of how this tour is going and the fact it’s not being addressed.

At the start of tour it was uk Irish fans not getting solo songs, and the outrage that came after the guys said they just didn’t practice enough as if they know the lyrics anyways.

And now I am seeing so many people upset about the solo segment being taken away, if they did this because they didn’t think enough people were singing along, then this is them trying to cater the show to casual fans who probably don’t even know they have solo albums rather than using it to give the hardcore fans a chance to hear solo songs live that they will probably never get a chance to hear elsewhere as solo tours don’t seem likely. It’s also taking away the possibility for casual fans to hear a solo song and get hooked.

There’s a whole video segment leading up to what was solosos, and they’ve kept those clips in the show but taken out the solo songs, which means the videos about breaking up don’t really make sense anymore. It was a huge part in the storytelling of the concert. And cutting it midway through the tour with no explanation makes no sense.

I get that live shows are never guaranteed and tend to be a bit unpredictable, but having a planned secret song segment and just not rehearsing (literally their job) and casually admitting that they didn’t bother rehearsing because they know a lot of their fans glaze them and think they can do no wrong, cutting a vital section of the show and not knowing lyrics in soundcheck/the concert is insane. Yes everyone jokes about them not knowing their own lyrics, but be serious how are you a decade and a half into your career and still not rehearsing for your tours that fans have paid a fortune to go to.

I love the guys the band and the music and have for a long time, but it gets to a point. It feels almost disrespectful that they don’t bother to even try and give a consistent show to all fans who have all paid a lot of money to go to a concert on this tour and expect to get the full experience and not a rehearsal or a cut down version.

I also find that a lot of the people saying that fans are being dramatic about these experiences are fans that went to shows that got the full thing, so maybe allow space for others to be upset that they didn’t get the same experience as you.

Solosos medley is now a secret song option. I’m really hoping this medley is additional solo songs rather than the 4 that were on the setlist and that they bring back the solo segment.

Solo segment was one of my favourite parts of the show i can’t believe they’d cut it! (Or even demote it to a secret song option)
