Quite often I do something while playing a 6 programme, and suddenly I'm on 5extra!

I can never replicate this - what did I do??

(Yes I know 5extra is the "next station along" :⁠-⁠) )

1. She plays occasionally Japanese music - I don’t know much about Japanese music, but I enjoy learning about it.

2. She plays ambient music, which sometimes I’m very much in the mood for.

3. She plays a lot of female artists - for example, Nina Simone, Patti Smith, The Slits, PJ Harvey, etc.

Ok, so maybe hate is a bit harsh, but i'm certainly no where near as keen as Stuart is. I think a lot of prog rock is boring and overrated. Certainly not freaky.

But I love the Freak Zone. It's the only radio program that I follow and have fully listened to most episodes for years now, sometimes multiple times.

I would like to petition Stuart to be limited to one prog rock album per quarter as Album of Week.

It was a shit joke in the 70's, as a professional broadcaster in 2026 is it too much to expect him to just pronounce words properly? He has 5 minutes off air to ask his producer if he is actually that shit at saying words.

I haven't listened to 6 much recently, really went off when NG joined.

Anyway, listening to Lauren, the show is great, music choice incredible. I might have picked a day that suits my tastes, it's really helping me on a day off being ill.

I've had to rewind as I missed the start. I expected just old skool/obscure disco but her selections are all over the place, in a good way. Not that I don't love old disco, I do but her set is really fresh sounding. She's great!
