Secrets of Haunted House had some great covers!

More from the collection as im pulling for my biggest purge yet!

I love the DC mystery books. House of Mystery, Ghosts, Weird War, Unexpected...but this title grabbed me right off the bat.

I bought #1 off the stands and never saw another issue until #15, and then I didn't miss an issue until it's unfortunate cancelation.

I've seen a lot of love for Luis Dominguez's Jonah Hex/Weird Western cover here on reddit and I wanted to share three of his "mystery" covers I really like.

#15:and #23 feel very "Charlton" to me (not a bad thing...I love Charlton horror comics too) and #21 is just a great messed up cover .

Interiors are average for the most part, but the covers were pure visual bliss!

KOBRA!!!

Created by Javk Kirby, I didn't discover this title until #2 and was confused at first. I missed #3 but that Joe Kubert cover on #4 swiped my money so fast my head spun.

The series is another one of those series that DC had to abandoned because of bad sales.

Between losing Stalker, Ragman Shade the Changing Man and Kobra to cancelation, it made it tough to get in on the ground floor with cool new heroes.

The 1970-1984 was a great time to be reading and collecting comics.

GHOSTS 97-99 Dr 13 vs The Spectre!

Great three ossue romp that should have continued for a while.

While I don't know a lot about Dr 13 Ghostbreaker, I was (and still am) a huge fan of the Spectre.

The story is pretty pretty cool and I did like the art thru all 3 stories.

DC's "Mystery" titles were so much fun for me.

Jerry Lewis at DC!

Jerry Lewis had a long run of comics at DC that are not only surprisingly entertaining but seem to be gaining in popularity.

While it was Adventures of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis from #1-40, the series seemed to hit it's stride after Dean left the book.

I only have a handful of issues but I've enjoyed them all.

Superman #227

This was the first Superman comic I bought with my own money off a spinner rack.

I was six years old.

This comic has been in my collection for 56 years and even now when I break it out I get a rush of nostalgia about that trip to the drug store with my grandmother.

The story is still fun in that goofy superman silver age way.

A great gateway drug for my comic habit which ramped up out of control about two years later in 1972.

Brave and Bold #34 first Silver Age Hawkman

Please forgive an old man who's enjoying sharing pictures from his collection. I have seen so many great comics shared here i feel like I need to share too!

Another one of my prize pieces i can't part with.

I should have written "several more" instead of "another"

In one year I got lucky with online auctions and got these two books and Daredevil #1.

2015 was a pretty good year for my collection but my bank account was begging for mercy lol

Hawkins is one of my favorite DC characters and the art by Hoe Kubert is a can't miss!

Star Spangled War #151

Recent acquisition after what seems like forever!

First appearance of the iconic character. Story and art by the legendary Joe Kubert.

While Sgt Rock was kind of hit or miss with me (I have no idea why) both Enemy Ace and Unknown Soldier scratched my DC war itch better than The Losers or The Haunted Tank, although I did try really hard to get into them.

Looking forward to finally reading this tonight.

Weird War Tales #1-10

The first 10 issues of my 90 issues I own.
Joe Kubert did the art covers for #1-7
Neal Adams only contribution to Weird War Tales is cover art on #8.
Nick Cardy cover art #9.
Nick Cardy did the cover art on #10. This is a key issue in that it’s Walt Simonsons first published artwork in the industry.

Our Army at War #151 1st Enemy Ace

Sometimes when going thru a box you find the damndest things.

This is a copy I've had about 30 years. I thought I had sold it a long time ago and was really butthurt thinking about it.

Imagine my surprise when I found it in a box of Iron Man comics im cataloging and lo and behold, there it was with about 25 issues of Warlord I'd forgotten about.

I excitedly told my wife, who's supportive of my addiction, but she only gets so much.

I figured I'd share with folks who get the elation.

Now I have to get #153 and #155 and the collection of Enemy Ace appearances will almost be complete.

MAIL CALL OAAW #156. SSWS #153 & OFF’s #5

These came in the mail for me yesterday. I’ve been looking for OAAW #156 for some time now at comic book stores with no luck and finally found one online. The Star spangled war stories is one issue in the origin of The Unknown Soldier, why this is not a key issue baffles me. Finally Our Fighting Forces #5 this is definitely not in the best of shape but it’s mine now.
