Is it generally accepted that rose/throwable builds are the most busted?

Or at least, the most beginner friendly busted build?

First time I beat the game before I had any idea what synergies might work (I'm still a newb, but I have some idea now), I accidentally put together a throwable build. I had no idea what was happening but in a single run I went from barely being able to scrape a win against the Underking to obliterating Azra with a spare life still left.

My second win was the same, but this time I was able to see what was happening. I kept getting health-melting spammable weapons that I could chuck from the other side of the screen. No skill or risk required, literally no downsides.

I've been trying to find other ways to get that same boss-melting thrill but with more legitimate beat-em up tactics, and nothing seems to come close so far.

Looking around this sub it seems like throw-to-win as baby's first win is a common theme.

Tips for Azra in coop without Ordeal ?

My friend and I are doing Ordeals « no tree powers » and « only punishes ».

It was really easy until we go against Azra

Usually we are broken enough to stomp him completely but those Ordeals are the two lasts we struggle with and gives a lot of handicaps

Every time we clash or deflect him and try to attack, no punish happens at all so no extra damage.

Sometimes using Arcana interrupts his ability, sometimes it doesn’t

Sometimes he will just clash us 25 times in a row for no reason

Right now all of this make the fight really not rewarding at all, specially when we kill Absolum hitless with absolutely no issue

If you have any tip for this, that would be help a lot

Also I think Ordeal « no tree » is bugged because I have 20 chance and didn’t have a single crit for the whole game

Brome’s Babies Bug?

I’m trying to find all of Brome’s children and there’s one behind Namtar the Turncoat in the hidden chest room in the bazar in Asterion. However the path to get there is blocked. I’ve tried hitting it, I’ve tried jumping, and I’ve tried dashing to no avail. Did I miss something? Does the path only open if you do something correctly?

Ordeals & Busted Builds...

Hi everyone, it's my first time writing a reddit post about a video game, sorry if I sound a bit like a noob.

Anyway, I recently beat Absolum and now have access to the ordeals, or at least three of them. The thing is, they seem to be much, much harder than the base game and I keep getting crushed in Grandery; if I make it out alive, I don't last long in either of the next islands.
So, is it just a 'git gud' issue?

Is there a way to create Custom Ordeals right away, or am I supposed to clear the first three?

Another question now. I've seen some video or read about insane builds that I would like to try, but I don't know how people manage to get them. How does one get enough money to start with 5+ shields every run, or even more expensive items?
Is there a trick I'm not aware of?

How do the ritual pool mechanics work?

For example, in Hades 1/2 you could somewhat game the system because you knew it was going to give you a "boon" (basically a ritual) for each attack and movement option. You also knew it would only give you maybe 4 "gods" (ritual types) per run. With all of that knowledge, you knew if you saw a Zeus' dash boon but you wanted his main attack boon, you could just wait a couple of rounds until it showed up. You also knew if you kept avoiding taking an attack boon for other gods it would keep serving you attack boons until you got it.

Is it similar here? Wondering if anyone has done a write up on the pool mechanics.

Ranking the OST!

I'll start by saying, I absolutely adore this fantastic game. I got it around November last year and have enjoyed literally hundreds of hours playing it, it's one of the most charming games I've ever played. The OST is of a similarly high quality, so here's my ranking of this underrated soundtrack, colour coded per area (🟥Grandery, 🟩Jaroba, 🟪Yeldrim, 🟨Asterios, 🟦Boss Theme, ⬜ Miscellaneous). It's worth saying that even the tracks in C & D tier are brilliant, I think they suit their purpose very well but in a soundtrack this impressive there has to be something at the bottom :/

Would love to hear your guys thoughts about the OST/ whether you disagree or agree with the ranking

Struggling to love this game, any advice?

I am totally taken with the core gameplay and aesthetics of this game, and I want so badly to keep improving and progressing, but I feel like I'm at a wall and practice isn't doing any good. The big issues I'm struggling with are visibility, interacting with shielded/orange enemies, and Cider's damage output.

I play coop with my wife, who typically uses Galandra. We've beaten Azra a couple times, but never with lives for fighting Absolum.

I love playing Cider for the technical combo options and have spent a lot of time practicing various strings, but no matter how well I feel like I play, I'm always stuck doing an unimpressive fraction of other characters' damage in coop. Radiance falls behind by the first or second fight every time. It feels trolley inherent to Cider's moveset, and I'm not sure why or how to overcome it, but it doesn't feel good to put a ton of effort into working on combos only to just be distracting a few enemies while the other player has to do all the heavy lifting.

The biggest issue is without a doubt visibility. The screen is so incredibly cluttered. Avoiding damage feels like it has to come down to either luck or overpowered builds that can wipe out crowds without any risk (which tends to come Galandra or Brome arcanas, never Cider). I practice and practice dodges, deflects and clashes, but it just does not feel possible to read the telegraphs of every enemy on the screen at once, many of them concealed by stacked enemies and visual effects, so that I can use these tools with any real intent later in a coop run.

That is exacerbated by orange and shielded enemies, who are impossible to interact with aside from these techniques or a throw. So every time they spawn, some HP is witled away, until ultimately the run comes to an unsatisfying end due to gradual damage attrition that feels random and impossible to anticipate or even really understand. Or we've beaten Azra but without any satisfaction knowing we aren't allowed to try Absolum due to no extra lives, which I know has been talked to death elsewhere.

I know this is more of a rant, but I'm curious if anyone has unexpected mental tricks or insight into how to handle coop screen clutter or Cider's apparent weak damage

Mmmh… Everything is possible in this game.

Each time we made an ordeal, and we overcome a 200 000 score with each character, this happens.

Is there anyone in the same case ?

How to fix it ?

We litterally had to play from 5-6 times the game to repair our score.

Hey absolum, can you just rebalance the game ?

My dad was playing it and he litterally forced me to wake up to show me how he was cooked with the 2 gazorgs wich litteraly spawned from nothing.

(after these bosses there was 2 other gazogrs an elite sharp horror wich shoot infinitly lasers from the cosmos and so much more things at the same time)

To be serious the game became impossible,

after the patch we can’t have too much rituals because the corrupted regions disapeared.

I want back the corrupted regions please !

A story in 3 parts

Caught em cheating twice, and now on the 3rd time we match up…he runs away.

Pretty safe to assume they load up stupid amount of trinkets before every co-op run, so just avoid on sight if you want to enjoy the game (they were also horrible at co-op in general, hording everything and rushing through screens)

What a Storm!

I don't think I'll ever get this sorta luck again, that was awesome. First time going up against The Sun King and I beat him first try, but I mean... Is anyone really surprised with this setup? 😂 Great game btw, definitely gonna play more and with different characters.

I keep getting stuck with challenges..

Whenever I play the 25% hp ennemies with augmented spawn, there's few zones the game won't let us continue because an ennemy is stucked somewhere.

Ever happened to somebody ? Is there a solution ?

Skins Collection?

Ate there pictures of the 1.1 update skins anywhere? I can't find them anywhere including the wiki. Considering what it takes to get them all I wanted to at least get a preview.

Flame Door

I’m trying to open the flame door on the left in the sanctuary, people seem to be divided on what you need to open it.

The only one I’m missing is the large flame in the middle. Not sure what to do feel like I’ve already explored everything

Solution: Seems to be a bug if you beat the game for the first time in coop, can be fixed by completing the game again with someone who’s never done it before

is it possible to revert to a prior patch?

the last patch has taken this from a game that I loved playing to a game I don't want to play anymore... before the patch, i knew the first island would be hard, but have a lot of corrupted zones, and as long as i made it out, i had a chance at either island that had 2 corrupted zones, and then the end was just fun. Now i just breeze through it, and I don't really like the ordeals... any help, or do i just move on to another game?
