I read somewhere that you can talk with the hodded guy after you beat absoluk to close the portals so that you don't have these infested areas anymore. But when I talk to him he offers just his challenges.
I purchased two copies of this game on steam to play co-op with a friend and it doesn't seem to work at all. Invite codes and invites through steam both result in "Connection lost" sending you back to the main menu.
We even tried the remote play function which simply locks the joining player in the "Controls disabled while host is busy" screen indefinitely.
We took it a step further by verifying integrity, toggling the steam overlay function and also restarting both games in unison, same result. Matchmaking with random players works just fine but that's not what I purchased it for. Co-op in any form seems completely broken. Does ANYONE have a solution for this?
Dunno why I assumed when they released the update it would be automatically activated but it's not the case.

I did test it out with a buddy who was on Switch yesterday, I'm on ps5 and it worked flawlessly.
By far the most broken build I’ve managed to create on him… Works in any mode basically. If anyone wants a pic of the run history to see the rituals and items let me know!
Me and my girlfriend have been having so much fun with this game. The art is gorgeous and the combat feels fluid and responsive. We really struggled to beat the Underking (probably 7 tries) but we got to azra the third time we beat the underking.
The main point of this post was I don't really see much media about it and was just wondering what peoples favorite characters and builds are?
I got the furthest with a brome static build with 2 of the clash extenders on while my girlfriend was running Galandra with a pretty mixed kit. Over all my favorite has been Cider with basically infinite upgraded thorn daggers and she likes a lot of water bubbles or fire.
This game is amazing, going to work on the rest of the bosses I haven't got to as well as completing runs with the other characters. The ordeals and the medals look crazy, going to be able to sink some hours into this for sure.
This was the first time I managed to break the game, I barely took damage from Azra nor Absolum. The tornado jumps along with chrono critical just had me spam jumping. Spinning blade was also nice.
Im new to this game (but not beat em ups in general). Im finding it hard to time my Dodges to get Deflects when I'm comboing an enemy. It feels like bosses like the forest champion will wind up a hit and hold it for an unusual amount of time before attacking. It reminds me of facing Margit in Elden Ring.
Any tips? Im playing with the sword lady. Often what happens is ill see the wind up and if I stop attacking to try and time the dodge I end up dashing too early, but if I wait til the last second I dodge too late.
Question: Do you experience any difficulties pairing with other players via matchmaking?
I ask because I believe I may have instantly located players maybe a handful of times. But typically it seems I'm waiting endlessly to find someone to play with, to the point where I just have to give up.
Furthermore, the few times I am able to hop into a game I'm paired with a newer player. I generally don't mind this. I like to help those players collect achievements and I let them have first dibs on all trinkets. Only problem with this, though, is we can't play any of the ordeals as they're just starting out.
So how's matchmaking been for you?
Dotemu worked on both games. I really hope we get a DLC for Absolum. There's a ton of potential and stuff that it basically begs for DLC, haha.
Maybe we'll get something when Absolum completes 1 year of release? I somehow doubt they aren't working on something.

I have been doing no items runs online but I think I found true love. I am so gonna use this from now on but it's so silly how I can grab him whenever he misses anything. It's also really strong when you just walk and grab things haha.
So on launch I didn’t play the game because it didn’t have mouse support, now I hear that mouse support has been implemented, is this true? If yes then my other question is that can you only use the left and right click on the mouse or bind actions to the side mouse buttons as well?

So recent circumstances came up and now I can buy this game if I wanted to (money) I've been really interested in this game for a while and watched a couple reviews and they all said the same things. It's a fantasy rougelite with amazing visuals and a generic but interesting story. I just have a couple of questions.
Can you change difficulty in any way (I'm pretty bad at video games)
Can you play solo? all the clips i've seen are co op
How long is the game?
Is it worth it?
Cannot play with friend keep getting connection lost error from the one trying to join. They are on ps5 I am on the steam version for PC so I cannot just invite them and vice versa since the invite screens pull up the platform specific friend list (i.e. PSN friends or steam friends from an overlay.) Joining by code worked perfectly fine yesterday we played for 3 hours uninteruppted. Any solutions or things I haven't thought to try. both of us have completely resarted our game, system, and even networks.
Sup guys. Does anyone know if the Golden tooth stacks? IE if I have two of them I'll get 50% damage for every crit instead of 25%?
Dask is a deserter tank of the Crimson order after realizing what they are doing is wrong and believes his own code of justice for the mages rather than sharing the blind sentiment that the rest do, he may not be a direct child of Uchawi but he certainly is an ally. he works as a kind of support and wields a shield that can block using his special attack and uses a defensive form of Karate to deal with enemies, He may sometimes idolize Azra and hope to be able to redeem him but knows what must be done.
Took me some time to make up this character but i always believed that playing a crimson guard would be sick af, im currently working on some Arcanas and Inspirations for him but i need ideas, mostly related to defense, support and shields.
(Arcana idea 1: Life crystals, you and 1 ally gain 30 temp hit points for 10 seconds, can stack)
