have you tried submitting a final requirement beyond the final deadline?

Question above. So basically I submitted a final requirement earlier this morning. I had a grave mental block that delayed my progress (lost a loved one two weeks ago so I was in a messy state). Have you done the same? Do you think I would still be graded?

letter grade not reflecting the numerical grade equivalent T_T

our prof just posted our grades on AISIS and it didn't match the letter grade I was looking forward to. i attended his grade consultation thing (so i know my numerical grade and checked the syllabus what letter grade i would get). but it didn't match, it's lower :(( i messaged him on canvas and thru email, hoping he'll respond. are profs open when it comes to these issues? i sacrificed so much for this class :((

im an incoming 3rd year student. any suggestions on how I'll maximize my remaining time on campus?

title. its been a few days since 2nd year has finally concluded and it just dawned on me that I only have 2 years left on campus. I just wanted to ask anyone, from alumni to current seniors, what they would have done if they were in my position right now? I heard from a batch mate that the biggest fee we pay from our misc fees was for the libraries (I've yet to fact check this but it seems likely) and I realized how little I actually use their facilities besides staying at one of the floors to study.

is there anything else that im missing out on? volunteering, competitions, organizing events, making bonds with peers, studying and getting good grades---What else is there so that I can fully maximize the Ateneo experience, or just being a college student in general? What can I do to make the most out of it?

sad abt graduating w/o honors

while my cumulative qpi is still 3.xx, i still did not reach the cutoff for a laude, or even honorable mention ☹️ do companies focus on honors/grades when hiring? feeling the graduation high these days but this feeling of being an absolute failure/someone who was an achiever in hs & now can’t barely pass some classes, just pulls me down Down

haha i hope it gets better eventually !

My Prof’s Words and their Imapcy on my Mental Health

tw //

I can finally post this now that I’m graduating but this semester I had a really tough professor who said some words that I’ll never forget. I won’t go into details about what department they’re from but I’m from a ‘pre-med’ course. I was really struggling with the class and as someone with a mental health condition, I was advised to inform my professors of it (something I never considered doing at all because I was scared).

I consulted with this professor about my LTs and asked them about my standing and what I needed to get in the final to pass. Somewhere during the consultation, the professor goes, “you’re going to do this again in med school. What makes you think you can go to med school if you can’t even make it through undergrad?”. Mind you, this consultation was after the professor knew about my condition. It was in that moment when I felt myself fall into s****da* ideations again and found myself planning and making my goodbyes. Because a professor had literally told me to my face that they didn’t think I could make it as a doctor. To say I was destroyed would be an understatement. Other consults with this professor continued to be passive aggressive (and yes I stuck it out because I needed to pass the class and graduate). There was even a consult where the professor flat out said they didn’t think I was studying at all (despite me showing my notes and consulting with them) because my scores were subpar. Luckily, my OGC counselor was very helpful when it came to processing the whole incident but those words will forever stick with me.

Why am I posting this? Not for people to feel sorry for me but rather to hopefully remind professors that their words matter. It was definitely a bad way to end the semester but at least it’s over. I hope we all continue to choose kindness.

Who reads Course Evaluations?

This isn't really a dig on the current course evaluation system because the school departments need this feedback in one way or another, but I've been curious about who reads these course evaluations. Does it affect something if enough students rate the professor poorly or is it just a feel-good measure that's often disregarded?

Enlistment Issues

I enlisted for my major this intersession and it says invalid and " You a temporary enlisted until you have passed the prerequisite". Does this mean I failed the prerequisite? Should I still try to enlist for it again or will it not go through anyway?

Can i still get my graduation photos done?

Hello! I’m a graduating MS student. I totally missed the photoshoot season last year mainly because I didn’t think I could graduate in time this year. Will i still be able to have my toga photos taken? I already contacted Ateneo Aegis but no reply.

Thanks!

Fresh grad scared of the current job market 😅

Hi reddit. I’m graduating soon, and honestly, I’ve been getting a bit anxious about job hunting. I’ve been checking LinkedIn and JobStreet but why do entry level roles already require years of experience :'( This is my main concern since most of my experience so far has mainly been through org work only throughout college.

Do you guys know any companies or agencies that are genuinely open to fresh grads while still offering decent pay, benefits, and growth opportunities with good culture? (I’m interested in marketing, PR, events, or related fields)

I’d also really appreciate any advice on companies to avoid, skills or certifications that helped you land your first job, things you wish you knew before applying/getting your first job.

Tyia!!

What orgs are supersenior-friendly? I’ll be doing a 5th year but would like join a new org before I graduate. Joining one full of freshies is kind of unappealing because I already feel old lol. Sorry!

First time overcutting

So I am about to finish my 1st year, but something has been bothering me, and it's making me really paranoid. As the title suggests, I overcut (I counted it myself) in my Natsci class. However, those absences happened at the start of the 2nd sem when I was going through something. I was wondering if my professor is being lenient since they still called my name for attendance (even after I overcut) and still graded my quizzes. I’m afraid that when grades are released, I’ll be given a W. Do professors usually email you if you are overcutting?

Questions on Probation

I was wondering if there is anyone who could help me answer my query. I'm currently on probation and I am slated to retain the minimum QPI (2.00) but I am almost certain I will fail one subject. If you were on probation before or had a similar circumstance, may I know what happens next if i were to attain a grade F during probation? Thanks in advance!

If I fail a major subject that isn't a prerequisite to future subjects, do I still need to retake it next semester?

For context, I'm from 2 BS MAC, and I'm not really sure if I'll pass LLAW 116 this semester (hopefully I will). But if the inevitable comes, do I still need to retake in the next semester for my junior year?
