P.T. PC Port 1.0.0 - Native PC Port of the Original 2014 P.T.
After a lot of work, P.T. PC Port 1.0.0 is now available.
This is a native PC port of P.T., the 2014 PlayStation 4 teaser by Kojima Productions.
It is not an emulator and it is not one of the existing Unity/Unreal remakes. The game logic has been rebuilt in C++, with a custom Vulkan renderer, while the actual levels, models, textures, sounds and cutscenes are loaded directly from your own copy of the original PS4 game.
The port itself contains no P.T. game data.

What you need
- Your own copy of P.T. (CUSA01127), either as a usable PKG or a dumped game folder from your console.
- A store PKG cannot be used, as it is encrypted for the console that owns it.
- Windows 10 or 11, or Linux:
- Ubuntu 24.04+
- Debian 13+
- Fedora 39+
- Arch-based distributions
- SteamOS
- A GPU and driver supporting Vulkan 1.3.
- Steam Deck works. Install it in Desktop Mode and add the game to Steam afterward.
P.T. also requires a microphone for one part of the game, just like the original PS4 version. If you do not have one, a key can substitute for the required spoken word.
Installation
On Windows, run:
P.T.PC.Port.Setup.exe
On Linux, run:
P.T.PC.Port.Setup-linux
Make the Linux installer executable first if necessary.
Point the installer to your P.T. PKG or dumped game folder and choose where to install it. The installer copies the three game archives required by the port and creates a shortcut.
Running a newer installer over an existing installation will update it in place while keeping your save data.
The game
The entire teaser is playable, from the first wake-up to the final street sequence.
This includes the voice section, Lisa, traps, scripted events, camera behavior and timing recreated from the original PS4 version.
Input support includes:
- Mouse and keyboard
- PlayStation controllers
- Xbox controllers
- Nintendo/Switch-style controllers
- Automatic button prompt switching
- Controller vibration based on the original
Menus and subtitles are available in:
English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Turkish, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian.
Display and graphics
The port supports:
- Any resolution
- Windowed mode
- Borderless
- Fullscreen
- Ultrawide
- Optional letterboxing
Ultrawide rendering keeps effects such as the curved lens and film grain correctly proportioned instead of stretching them.
Upscaling
- NVIDIA DLSS, including model selection
- AMD FSR 3
- AMD FSR 4
- Intel XeSS
- Native anti-aliasing
Frame generation
- DLSS Frame Generation on RTX 40-series and newer
- FSR 3 Frame Generation on Radeon RX 5000-series and newer
Graphics presets
Low / Medium / Original (PS4) / High / Ultra
The Original preset aims to match the PS4 presentation.
Ultra traces soft shadows, contact shadows, ambient occlusion and reflections.
Original effects can also be disabled individually, including:
- Depth of field
- Motion blur
- Bloom
- Film grain
- Curved lens distortion
- Lens flare ghosts
There is also an optional Enhanced Textures mode, which upscales the textures from your own game data to 2x resolution with Real-ESRGAN once and caches the results locally.
No enhanced textures are distributed with the project.
Extras
Photo Mode
Pause the game and freely move the camera, with controls for:
- Field of view
- Camera roll
- Aperture
- Flashlight
Screenshots are saved directly to your Pictures folder.
Free Camera / Third Person
Experimental free-camera and third-person modes are included.
Loop Browser
After finishing the game, you can jump directly to any loop instead of replaying the entire teaser.
You can also walk around the street from the final sequence.
Museum
The Museum gradually unlocks content as you encounter it during normal gameplay.
It includes:
- Subliminal images
- Radio broadcasts
- Every spoken line with transcripts
- Photo pieces
- Cutscenes in a theater viewer

- Real time or game time
- Personal bests
- LiveSplit integration
VR
Experimental OpenXR VR support is included.
It has not yet been tested on a real VR headset.
Mods
A mods folder next to the game can replace:
- Textures
- Sounds
- Other supported game files
Mods can also run Lua scripts on game events.
The repository includes:
- A modding guide
- Lua reference documentation
- Three example mods
Updates and privacy
The game and installer check the GitHub Releases page once at startup.
If a newer version exists, a small non-intrusive message is shown.
You can disable update checks completely by setting:
check_updates = 0
under the [network] section of pt.ini.
Nothing else goes online.
About the project
This project exists to preserve and reproduce the original P.T. experience natively on modern PCs without redistributing the game itself.
You must provide your own copy of P.T., and all copyrighted game assets used by the port are read from that copy.
P.T. is the work of Kojima Productions and belongs to Konami. This project is unofficial and is not affiliated with either company.
shadPS4 was used as a reference for how the original behaves.
If you find bugs, hardware-specific problems or differences from the original game, please report them on GitHub.
