how have we just let this quote slide? we are literally on the back of a bus driving of a cliff led by these money hungry maniacs while they convince the mass public to look at the billboards not our inevitable destruction. What do you guys think of the entire situation??

As long as we don’t develop technology and AI so much so that it can be self sustainable it won’t annihilate us. We must keep humans integral to AI’s survival.

There's a narrative being pushed on social media that people who are opposed to datacentres are hysterics, ignorant, luddites and so on. But this article clearly shows that at least in some cases datacentres are harmful to the residents of nearby areas.

Also concerning is the mismatch between what datacentre promoters say and what actually happens. Weasel words and bland reassurances are given at the start, but the reality is very different once the datacentre is in operation.

The datacentre in this article is in New Jersey and is linked to Microsoft. The facility runs on 62 gas-fired generators.
