How to stop Airealm from losing the plot?

im huge into storytelling, and when i start a new campaign it always goes perfect until a few summaries later, i even try to tell the summaries to remember crucial moments but the AI's just forget everything and i feel like im spending half my session reminding the AI of the actual story so far. it forgets important details and totally makes things up, and for some reason, ive tried multiple AIs and they all seem to HATE making *anything* interestin happen, we finish an epic quest? lets head to the nearest town the restock... sike, you live here now.

my biggest problem is the DM stops being a DM, it starts giving extremely short answers and having the companions just stand around idly like dumbasses and proceed to as ME "what does [companion or NPC name here] do next?" and even starts speaking FOR my character, the only charatcer they arent supposed to be controlling , lol

is this just how it is or is there somthing i can do to have an AI that stays on track without constantly having to stop the campaign to talk to the AI itself to get its head back in the game.

the super expensive gemini is AMAZING but runs out so fast, i want a choice i can keep using for the entire campaign

thanks in advance for any lifesaving prompts or anythng to say to the AI before campaigns begin!

AI Realm AI ratings poll

We're looking to improve the descriptions of all of the available AI on the platform and we're looking for your feedback to help shape the new descriptions.

Link to form: https://forms.gle/uaHZgWpJSgd2WmsC9

If interested, you will be asked to rate every AI based on the following criteria:

  • Scene Description
  • Narrative Pacing
  • Variety of plots/subplots
  • Adherence to GM guides
  • Adherence to combat rules or other mechanics
  • Ability to update Character Sheet or create NPC cards

Please only fill out the sections for the AI models that you use. Otherwise it will skew our data and make the final description inaccurate.

Thanks!

Story rush with premade scenarios

For those of you who used a premade scenario, how do you prevent the AI from overwhelming the character?

Like I used this scenario in which the creator had set up stuff for each week, but the AI just decided to concentrate every activity into one single day. Do you have any suggestions on how to avoid this to happen?

Deleted my campaign summary. Am I Screwed

So basically, I wasn’t thinking and decided to delete my whole campaign summary to make some room for context usuage. Luckily, i have every message saved onto a doc. Will i be able to just continue playing normally, or will I have to summarize the game messages and paste all of them back?

Background

Decided to try out AI Realm today for the first time. Made a sorcerer. Right off the bat, even before I started any kind of adventure:

  1. Why isn't there an option to point buy and to use averaged hit dice? These aren't that bad, I can just do that manually. Still, though.

  2. More importantly, why is there no background selection? I rely on my background for a feat and a couple more stat points, it's an essential part of creating a character. I couldn't find a way to hard insert it in, either.

  3. Why does it decide to start me out at level 5? It's not that I mind starting at level 5, it's just that it never asked. Also, why did it ask me to prepare 6 spells then? This is not the number of spells prepared by sorcerer on level 5 OR level 1 lol.

  4. Why does it ask me to choose from a random set of weapons instead of just giving me the option of gold or standard sorcerer starting gear?

Finally, the question I have is: is my character info hardwired into the engine? Meaning AI Realm will reference it to resolve battle situations? Cause if not, I figure I could just ignore it and use a proper character sheet I create myself to look at lol.

Using a lot of characters...

Due to multiple plot threads and an extensive and active NPC cast, I have to toggle NPCs and Character Data on and off regularly. I'm on the $15 plan, and can't afford paying more right now (I actually canceled other subscriptions to afford it).

One of my biggest character drains is setting information. I DO toggle it on and off, but there are a lot of setting details. Countries, continents, gods, political powers and factions. Different plot threads have necessitated adding more and more information for the AI to use.

If I make a World bundle, will that help me with my character limits? It seems like it just saves GM Guides and stat formatting, not necessarily setting information. Or if it does save setting information, it saves it under Character Data, which still goes to my character context limit.

What in the world is this?

Was just sitting here playing my game, I wrote out what I wanted to do and this was the response. Has anyone seen this before?

Created a WWE World. As a old school fan, this might be my favorite yet. You start by getting the call up from NXT and then it can go pretty much anywhere from there.

New DS 4 pro dropped - 0813

Their latest flagship. I'm testing it now on another platform, no real feedback yet. The new DS flash is crazy good though, impressively so especially at background calculations and updates and process flows.

Custom game

I want to do a decent custom campaign based around the walking dead. However I don't seem to be putting something in right when making it and it sucks. How would y'all recommend putting it so the AI will grasp it better?

How to have a slower start?

So. I’ve been playing around with AI realm for a while. But one thing that bothers me is that after starting a game by the second or third message I’m already given some mission involving some world threat level plot.

I’d really like one where the story starts slower. More just dialogue/exploration before being given any sort of combat so I can really get a foothold in the lore of the word first.

Is there a good way to do this? I’ve tried when creating my character to give this instruction but it doesn’t seem to work.

So eh, is the Ai really bad at calculating time or is it trying to speed up my campaign lol

Ley line plots…

Does the plot always devolve into saving the world from some mystical lay lines disaster? I always play as a bard in the fantasy setting so maybe it’s only bard/fantasy specific but no matter where I start or what personality I have, I end up in the middle of this rush to stop a cultist or wizard from using an artifact to gain power from Ley lines.

I have a problem...

I've created some pretty awesome worlds and characters with the help of the AI but I seem to lose interest in my stories after... Well after I developed a relationship and had one explicit encounter with that relationship partner. Can anybody relate or explain to me why I'm like this. Thanks for reading.

Jusr subscribed but confused on TTS settings

I have looked everywhere for TTS options, but I can't find them. I've looked everywhere and performed online searches. I've looked at instructions on the gear in chat to the left, but nothing about TTS settings. Im so confused

Free Tier Review - It's really bad!

I'll come right out and say it. All the free message tier models are atrociously bad right now. I'm very familiar with how AIRealm operates, have been subscribed off and on for over a year, and have created a few custom worlds.

I tend to rotate subscriptions here and there on things to save money since i'm hardly ever using all my available subscriptions at once. Lately I've been unsubbed for a little over a month and decided to test out a few things while I had the opportunity. I've tried all the available models with free messages and they all really, really, suck. Is the best way I can phrase it.

The models hardly ever take the initiative and introduce plot lines, automatic updates to character information aren't triggered without some extreme prompting, preferences, guides, and npc cards aren't followed, the DM never asks the character to roll for anything outside of combat. Messages are either extremely short, or full of fluff detail to the point of nauseam. I can go on.

At least in the past we had a few stand out models here and there like Grok that did a serviceable job, and many community members have done a good bit of optimizing models like deepseek on the discord, but even those measures only last a few messages. After 10 or so messages, long before context gets summarized, the models loose any sense of direction they were provided.

I think this has a lot to do with the V2 update. The pretty UI is nice but I suspect it's eating up some resources since there are now a lot more sections for the models to parse through causing bloat.

It's my hope models become cheaper as competition continues and the technology improves, but as of right now we're in a pretty bad situation.

EDIT: I initially suspected this had something to do with the V2 update, particularly because the new NPC Cards, GM Guides, character data and other systems introduce considerably more contextual information. I don't know whether that's actually the cause, however, and it's entirely possible that the bigger issue is the changing roster and behavior of the underlying models.

EDIT2: I'm not claiming the owner intentionally degraded anything. I'm saying the free-tier experience has demonstrably become substantially worse than it was when I started using the service, and the fact that this affects every currently available free model makes me suspicious that something upstream of the individual models changed. Where once there were relatively powerful, and even impressive at times, models available they have since been degraded in one way or another into what I would describe as a poor experience.

We, friends and I, willingly subscribed easily after noticing what the site could accomplish, and had a blast with no second thoughts at all to our decision, but now it's clearly taken a turn. I don't know if that is due to monetary concerns or literal under the hood changes, but it's even more clear recently after looking through bug reports and the overall state of things that the quality of these models has taken a nose dive.
