AP Euro
Hey everyone,
I’m taking AP European History next semester, and honestly, I’m a bit blind going into it. I wanted to get some realistic insight from people who have actually taken the class and survived the exam.
Specifically, I’m hoping to get some answers on a few things:
- What actually is AP Euro? Obviously, it's European history, but what is the vibe of the class? Is it mostly just memorizing a million dates and kings, or is it more about big-picture concepts, themes, and writing?
- How do I prep/study throughout the year? What are the absolute best resources out there? (I've heard people mention Heimler's History—is he the go-to for Euro like he is for World/US?). Any specific textbooks, YouTube channels, or study habits that saved your grade?
- What does it take to get a 5? For those of you who scored a 5 on the exam, what was your strategy? How heavy is the workload, and how hard is it to master the DBQs and LEQs?
Would love to hear any tips, warnings, or general advice you have. Thanks in advance!
