What to choose one more attempt or any Aayush colleges?

So, my sister had given neet this year and she got around 1 lakh rank, this was her 4th attempt and she is getting around 490 marks, also in that paper leak 1st neet of this year she was getting around 600 marks. She is telling to go to kota and give one more attempt and since it was already her 4th attempt so going to kota will increase her chances of getting mbbs college or is choosing the vet colleges or ayurveda colleges is good. I'm confused I don't know what will happen next year I can't predict the rank inflation or anything like paper leak kind of stuff.

Need genuine advice on this.

Need Urgent counselling advice

So I am general category,48k rank, UP domicile.

Earlier I missed the KEA registeratios and thought of opting KMC through MCC counselling.

But now the KEA registrations for R2 are open again I’m confused what should I do.

See there will be a difference of 18lakhs if I opt any pvt clg in Karnataka (12Lakh bracket) than KMC and it doss means a lot so I’m thinking of KMC.

What would you guys suggest and also tell me the best pvt clg in 12L/annum that would pass my cutoff in KEA

3+ years of NEET prep and I still can’t make myself study. Can I even recover now?

Bhai honestly I don’t even know what I’m doing anymore. I need some genuine advice.

I was a COVID batch student and barely went to school from 7th–9th. I got around 70% in both 10th and 12th.

After 10th, I decided to prepare for NEET and moved to another city for coaching.

11th me Allen join kiya but I basically didn’t study. 12th me Allen ki 12-hour batch li, but same story. Class jata tha, but class ke andar/baad games, web series, phone etc. me time nikal deta tha.

12th 2025 me pass ki around 70% ke saath.

NEET 2025: 112 marks.

Gharwalo ne drop lene ko bola, so I took a drop.

First drop me Unacademy join kiya, but honestly sirf July-August ke around properly coaching gaya. Uske baad jana hi chhod diya. 2025 me meri didi ki shaadi bhi thi, usme bhi kuch months chale gaye.

Phir khud se preparation karne ki try kari but consistency nahi bani.

NEET 2026: ~180 marks.
Re-NEET: ~122 marks.

I’m General category.

Ab maine phir se drop liya hai and joined Allen again. Batch around 13–14 July 2026 se start hui thi.

And the embarrassing part is…

Batch start hone ke baad se maine class ke baad ghar aake books/notes properly khole hi nahi hain.

Literally.

Class attend karta hu, ghar aata hu, phone use karta hu, aur din khatam.

Mere basics bhi completely fucked hain. Abhi Chemistry me IUPAC chal raha hai aur mujhe woh bhi properly samajh nahi aa raha because 11th ka base hi clear nahi hai.

I know people will say “bas padhne baith ja” and I know I should study. Problem ye hai ki mujhe genuinely padhne ka mann hi nahi karta.

It’s been like this for years now.

I have already wasted 3+ years preparing for NEET without actually preparing properly, and I’m scared that I’ll waste this drop too.

So I want some actual advice from people who understand NEET:

• Should I completely restart 11th from zero?
• Ya current Allen syllabus ke saath chalu rakhu and prerequisites side-by-side cover karu?
• Itna weak base hone ke baad realistically recover kaise karu?
• Sabse important: how do I actually start studying when I have zero urge to study?
• Should I stop worrying about backlog and just focus on building a daily routine first?
• And honestly, is it still possible to get a decent score if I genuinely start now?

Please don’t tell me “12-14 hours padh bro” or “you have to sacrifice everything.” I already know that.

I want to know what you would actually do if you were in my position right now.

If you need more information about my current situation, schedule, marks, etc., ask me. I’ll answer honestly.

And this post was made with the help of AI!

Advise needed

Hi guys I am a bit scared and confused after my exitement for taking a mbbs seat ( up private )

For context I am a guy and I have long hairs and was looking for advise all over the internet to be as it is or cut it short . And while looking for thia advise I saw some horrific incidents of ragging and as far as I knew ragging was a thing of past so like is it still prevelant in medical collages ? Any advice would be helpful

For NEET preparation, is making your own notes actually worth the time, or is revising existing notes more effective?

Making notes can help with understanding and revision, but it can also take up a lot of valuable study time. Some students prefer creating short notes themselves, while others find it better to revise coaching or existing notes repeatedly.
What has worked better for you during NEET preparation? Do your own notes actually make revision easier, or would you recommend spending that time solving questions and revising?

Doubt in choice filling

Guys I got 48k rank (neet) general category UP. I was thinking to join KMC (Manipal/Manglore) and although the past trends suggest that I’ll get any of them fs but do I still have to fill other choices?

If yes then what else should I lock.

Also is their any way that I’ll not get either of them until round 2?

Ps. I missed the KEA registration😭

Finally deciding UP at 196k rank (196XXX).

Myquals: Male, General, Bihar domicile, NEET 2026 196k rank.

Guys tell me if this is accurate info or not :-

#1 Heritage Varanasi - 75L to 85L variable

#2 KD Mathura - 70L to 80L variable

#3 Saraswati Hapur - 70L to 80L variable

#4 Hind Sitapur - 75L to 85L variable

#5 Rama Hapur - 75L to 85L variable

#6 Shri Gorakshnath Gorakhpur - 75L to 85L variable

I'm going to fill these 6 options finally after my intensive research, please let me know if anything extreme negatives about any of these 6 or to consider adding any other good college.!

As far as Ik this is my final preference list.

IMS SUM Campus 2 is still 15L more than these ones. 🥲

Budget ki gaand ftt gyi doston.

Please Imk if it's too bad or still livable in these 6 colleges or any more hidden fees.

I think I've already added 5-10L extra margin for any fees if I encounter so should be manageable, paise de denge to shyd hopefully pareshaan na kre (I DON'T WANNA GET FORCEFULLY FAILED DAWG, 60%+ lana h baap bola hai 💔🥀)

THANKYOU AND PLEASE DM IF YOU CAN. 😭🙏

Hey i need someone who is preparing for neet. Or someone who has cleared neet. I want to check that data from Notebook Lm. Please

Ok here is 2 part "Section 9.1 of the NCERT textbook, **Principles of Biotechnology**, covers the foundational concepts and historical milestones that define modern biotechnology.

### **1. Target Weightage & Priority**

* **Priority:** **High** (Foundational for the entire unit).

* **Must-Memorize Concepts:** The EFB definition, the two core techniques, and the milestones of the first recombinant DNA construction [1, 2].

### **2. The NCERT Core Notes**

* **Defining Biotechnology:** While the traditional view deals with using live organisms (like making curd or bread), the modern view focuses on **genetic engineering** [1, 3].

* **EFB Definition:** The **European Federation of Biotechnology** defines it as: "The **integration of natural science and organisms**, cells, parts thereof, and **molecular analogues** for products and services" [1, 4, 5].

* **Two Core Techniques of Modern Biotech:**

  1. **Genetic Engineering:** Techniques to **alter the chemistry of genetic material** (DNA and RNA) and introduce these into host organisms to change their **phenotype** [1, 6, 7].

  2. **Bioprocess Engineering:** Maintenance of **sterile (microbial contamination-free) ambience** in chemical engineering processes to enable the large-scale growth of only the desired microbe for manufacturing products like antibiotics, vaccines, and enzymes [1, 6, 8].

* **Conceptual Breakthroughs:**

* **Sexual vs. Asexual Reproduction:** Sexual reproduction provides **variation**, whereas asexual reproduction **preserves genetic information** [1, 9, 10].

* **Genetic Engineering Advantage:** Traditional hybridization often carries **undesirable genes** along with desired ones; genetic engineering allows the isolation and introduction of **only desirable genes** [1, 10, 11].

* **The Fate of Alien DNA:** A piece of alien DNA cannot multiply in a host unless it is part of a chromosome with a specific **Origin of Replication (ori)** [12-14].

* **The First Recombinant DNA (rDNA):**

* Constructed in **1972** by **Stanley Cohen and Herbert Boyer** [15, 16].

* They isolated an **antibiotic resistance gene** from a native plasmid of the bacterium ***Salmonella typhimurium*** [15, 16].

* The gene was linked to a **plasmid vector** (acting as a "gene taxi") using the enzyme **DNA ligase** [12, 15, 17].

* **Three Basic Steps in Modifying an Organism:**

  1. **Identification** of DNA with desirable genes [18].

  2. **Introduction** of the identified DNA into the host [18].

  3. **Maintenance** and transfer of DNA to progeny [18].

### **3. The NTA Traps & Confusing Pairs**

* **[NEET Trap] Technique Confusion:** NTA may swap definitions for Genetic Engineering (altering DNA chemistry) and Bioprocess Engineering (maintaining sterility) [1, 6].

* **[NEET Trap] Organism Origin:** The first rDNA used a plasmid from ***Salmonella typhimurium***, but the transformed host was ***Escherichia coli*** (closely related to *Salmonella*) [15, 16].

* **[NEET Trap] Ori Function:** Remember that ***ori*** initiates replication **AND** controls the **copy number** of the linked DNA [19-21].

### **4. Possible Exam Questions**

* **Q: What is the primary advantage of genetic engineering over traditional hybridization?**

* *Ans:* It allows the introduction of **only desirable genes** without including undesirable ones [1, 10].

* **Q: Which enzyme is known as the "molecular glue"?**

* *Ans:* **DNA ligase**, which joins DNA fragments by creating phosphodiester bonds [15, 17, 22].

* **Q: Define 'Cloning' in the context of section 9.1.**

* *Ans:* Making **multiple identical copies** of any template DNA [12, 13].

### **5. The 20-Second Memory Chain**

* **EFB** (Natural Science + Analogues) \\(\rightarrow\\) **Core Tech** (Genetic Eng. + Bioprocess) \\(\rightarrow\\) **Cohen/Boyer 1972** (*Salmonella* plasmid) \\(\rightarrow\\) **Vector/Ligase** (Taxi/Glue) \\(\rightarrow\\) ***ori*** (Start + Copy Number) [1, 5, 12, 15, 16, 19]." And "Section **9.1: Principles of Biotechnology** focuses on the "why" and "how" modern biotechnology began, distinguishing it from traditional methods like making curd or bread [1, 2].

### **1. Defining Biotechnology (Traditional vs. Modern)**

* **Traditional View:** Deals with using live organisms (microbes) or their enzymes to produce products like **curd, bread, or wine** [1, 2].

* **Modern View:** Focuses on using **genetically modified organisms (GMOs)** to produce products on a larger scale [1, 2]. It includes advanced techniques like *in vitro* fertilization (test-tube babies), synthesizing genes, and developing DNA vaccines [1, 3].

* **The EFB Definition:** The **European Federation of Biotechnology** created a definition that merges both views: *"The integration of **natural science and organisms**, cells, parts thereof, and **molecular analogues** for products and services"* [1, 3].

---

### **2. The Two Core Techniques (The "Pillars")**

Modern biotechnology was born from two breakthrough techniques:

  1. **Genetic Engineering:** This involves **altering the chemistry of genetic material** (DNA and RNA) [1, 4]. Once the DNA is modified, it is introduced into a host organism to change its **phenotype** (physical/functional traits) [1, 5].

  2. **Bioprocess Engineering:** This is the maintenance of **sterile (microbial contamination-free) conditions** [1, 6]. It ensures that only the specific, desired microbe or eukaryotic cell grows in large quantities to manufacture products like antibiotics, vaccines, and enzymes [1, 7, 8].

---

### **3. Conceptual Development: Why Genetic Engineering?**

To understand why we need genetic engineering, we look at how organisms reproduce:

* **Asexual vs. Sexual Reproduction:** Asexual reproduction **preserves genetic information**, while sexual reproduction permits **variation** [1, 6].

* **The Problem with Traditional Hybridization:** In plant and animal breeding, traditional hybridization often leads to the inclusion and multiplication of **undesirable genes** along with the desired ones [1, 9].

* **The Solution:** Genetic engineering allows us to isolate and introduce **only desirable genes** into the target organism without bringing along the "junk" or unwanted traits [1, 9, 10].

---

### **4. The Fate of "Alien DNA" and the *ori***

If you just throw a random piece of DNA into a cell, it usually won't multiply [9, 11, 12].

* **Integration:** For that DNA to multiply, it must get **integrated into the host's genome** (become part of its chromosome) [9, 11, 13].

* **Origin of Replication (*ori*):** A chromosome has a specific sequence called the ***ori***, which is responsible for **initiating replication** [11, 13, 14].

* **Cloning:** When alien DNA is linked to an ***ori***, it can replicate and make multiple identical copies of itself. This process is called **cloning** [11, 13, 14].

---

### **5. The First Recombinant DNA (1972)**

This was the "Big Bang" of biotechnology, accomplished by **Stanley Cohen and Herbert Boyer** [15-17].

* **The Goal:** They wanted to create a bacterium that was resistant to antibiotics [15, 17].

* **The Source:** they isolated an **antibiotic resistance gene** from a native plasmid of the bacterium ***Salmonella typhimurium*** [15, 16, 18].

* **The Tools:**

* **Molecular Scissors:** They used **restriction enzymes** to cut the DNA at specific locations [15, 17].

* **Molecular Glue:** They used **DNA ligase** to link the antibiotic resistance gene to a **plasmid vector** (a circular DNA that acts as a "gene taxi") [15, 18, 19].

* **The Host:** This new "Recombinant DNA" was transferred into ***Escherichia coli*** (*E. coli*), which is closely related to *Salmonella* [15, 16, 18]. Because *E. coli* has its own DNA polymerase, it was able to replicate the new gene many times [15, 18].

---

### **6. Three Basic Steps to Modify an Organism**

NCERT summarizes the entire process into three fundamental steps:

  1. **Identification** of DNA with desirable genes [15, 20, 21].

  2. **Introduction** of the identified DNA into the host [15, 20, 21].

  3. **Maintenance** of introduced DNA in the host and transfer of the DNA to its **progeny** (offspring) [15, 21, 22]."

Should I take THIS Neet Counsellor?

My sister got 5,16,xxx rank in Neet 2026. A counsellor (N€€t Advi$or) is charging ₹4,00,000 for AIC and state. He was recommended by mutuals who we have no direct contact with.

Should we it or manage it ourselves?

I do know enough to handle it myself but the counsellor keeps persuading us to take his service bcz

  1. He can guarantee a seat in a private college near our city( which usually is available at that rank so whats even the point of guaranteeing that?)
  2. When I asked him to take guarantee of other college which is available at say, AIR 1,XX,XXX (just to test), he changed the topic each time
  3. Initially when I met him he said all is going to be through counselling and he will only help in choice filling and get us best seat but now that he has an idea that I may not want to avail his service he has started to say that he doesn't just do counselling, he has "connections” with colleges. SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM NOW!!

Pls share your opinions
