Is it possible and what hardware would I need to stream FPV drone footage to ATAK and other EUDs? Sorry if my verbiage is wrong still learning. Not really trying to spend a crazy amount of money, I’d like to spend 5k MAX on the drone and radio.
We've been working on integrating DJI Enterprise drones directly into ATAK and have now launched our integrated DroneControl Flight App and ATAK plugin, both available through our website.
The idea is to keep things simple for the pilot: fly the drone, connect to the TAK server, stream encrypted low-latency video and share drone location/telemetry without needing a separate RTSP gateway or VPN.
We've also implemented remote control from ATAK and sharing POIs/markers between the drone operator and TAK users.
Next on our roadmap is bringing more TAK markers/CoTs directly into the flight app.
Would be really interested to hear how others are currently integrating drones into TAK and what features you see as most important.
I recently discovered TAK maps by Joshua Fuller and I really liked the overlays, especially the wildfire one. Unfortunately its not for the US, is there one for the US as a whole or specific states as needed?

Anyone attending TAK onsite next week?
Morning guys, does anyone have experience with meshtastic in ATAK? Nodes are running, plugin is loaded, i see both of my nodes on the map but the meshtastic icon is still red and i get the error that the connection to meshtastic failed. Any ideas?
Has anyone had any success in affecting marker icon rotation in ATAK clients through CoT streaming messages without custom plugins?
I have attempted setting <track ../> in <detail ../>:

I have enabled the "Process Rotation Render Hints in the Message" setting which states "When enabled this preference will process all visual rendering hints provided in the message to include forced visual marker rotation."
Tested with both standard 2525 iconset as well as a custom iconset.
Looking at the ATAK source - I see rendering hints, but I see no connection to incoming CoT message processing affecting this.

Edit: For those looking for rotation. Yes, supported -- but with a per-app-start bug workaround (ATAK-CIV v5.8.0.1), followed by the undocumented renderhint below.
Im familiar with using the DOD version of ATAK... however... on the civilian side, youre obviously still traceable by govt agencies and otherwise... my question is what equipment do you need (radios and otherwise) to encrypt your session to be less traceable. Disclaimer: this is not for criminal activity, I just dont see the point in using ATAK if its all tracked anyway.

Hey everyone, I'm getting into ATAK-CIV, and I'm trying to learn more about using it with a DMR radio.
I currently have a Motorola XPR 7550, and I'd like to eventually use it with an Android phone running ATAK to share GPS/location information with other users while still using the radio for voice communications.
I'm mainly interested in hearing about people's experience using DMR radios with ATAK, especially if anyone has specifically used an XPR 7550.
I'm curious about things like:
I'm still pretty new to ATAK, and I'm trying to learn from people who have actually used this kind of setup before I start buying additional hardware.

Good afternoon, gentlemen. I am not a technologically savvy person but have taken an interest in TAK and other forms of off-grid communication. I am looking for a good place to start, preferably something in person so I can learn and ask questions as we go along. I am in the hampton roads area of VA. Is there anyone available to spend some time with me either face to face or over zoom? I am currently watching YouTube videos and reading online but the deeper I dig the more questions I have and deeper I go. I can learn myself how to use the app, my interest is more on the technical side like the servers and connectivity of the devices. TIA

Im new to the GIS community, but have used TAK series of products in the military and public safety sectors. I identified a gap in KML overlay creation based off a ton of time consuming and sometimes monotonous manual inputs. I created a tool to address this by leveraging AI to turn chat prompts into maps with points, polygons, and routes. These maps can be live streamed via KML or exported via KMZ to any engine that consumes those formats.
I'm looking for feedback, and interested to see what works, what doesn't, and what applications people use this for.
