Tips for a non banky exam

Ok I’m a bit stressed as I just failed an exam so I’ll next be sitting jt on my last sitting. It wasn’t a bank-y exam, had a ton of drop downs and check boxes. And of the 3 question I recognise from the bank i know I got one of them wrong.

I noticed what really helps me with prep is doing a mock, then choosing 2-3 topics that are my weakest and I work on that. I end up doing the bank 2-4 times and I usually pass. I also ensure I know the theory behind the answer and helps when they aren’t bank heavy. I just don’t know what to do to make sure I pass this exam as it’ll be my last chance. I got 74 in the exam and I think in my last practice test I got 94.

Out kf the 13 subjects I only had 3 subjects that were Banky, got 90-95 in those. I’ve spoken to people who have predominantly Banky exams, I wish I was one of them. I seem to pass non Banky exams with a little over 80. Thankfully my ability to fly a plane is better than doing MCQ exams, everything just makes sense. I’m definitely more hands on than knowing my theory.

Any tips on how to approach and prepare for a non banky exam.

Maybe not this order of sittings but grouping of subjects would look something like this.

Do you think this is reasonable grouping or i should shuffle abit more. Thanks

Damage to ELO1/2 for UK CAA exams

I bought a used copy of the GSPRM in preparation for my ATPL exams. Months later, while practicing with it, I discovered that a previous owner has written on the ELO1/2 chart in pen, which I can't find any way to remove. The writing says "T MOCA FL MEA" - perhaps something to jog their memory in the exam (cheating)?

What should I do about it? I know that the CAA are very strict about these things, and I don't want to be accused of cheating or banned from the exams!

I reckon my options are:

Buying another GSPRM (very expensive)

Buy a replacement ELO1/2 chart (but I can't seem to find any way to order the chart on it's own - at least not the 2017 version used for the exams?)

Tipex/whiteout over the text (would this be considered sufficient for exam purposes?)

cut/tear the affected section from the chart (would this be acceptable? I reckon charts get torn all the time, so I'm leaning towards this being the best option short of a new GSPRM?)

Any thoughts or past expereince much appreciated!

Adriana Aviation vs Smart Aero (Modlin) in Poland for CPL ME IR – which one is faster and better organized?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to do my CPL ME IR in Modlin and I’m trying to decide between Adriana Aviation and Smart Aero Service.

My main priority is speed and smooth organization. I have close to 100% availability, so I’d like to complete the training as efficiently as possible without unnecessary gaps.

How does the scheduling look in both schools? Aircraft availability? Instructor availability?

In Smart Aero, many instructors are airline pilots. In practice, does that help because of their experience, or does it actually slow things down due to their airline rosters and limited availability?

Which school offers better pace and fewer delays? If you’ve done CPL ME IR in either of them, how long did it realistically take you to complete the whole module?

I’d really appreciate honest comparisons and real-world timelines. Thanks in advance.

Failing ATPL - alternative mock exams?

My boyfriend failed 5 exams despite focusing on the question bank, endlessly. Any suggestions on mock exams he could purchase that would help him?
I know the question bank is king but I’m trying to see if there are other resources he can leverage

EDIT: he has gone through all the materials! It’s not like he’s trying to just study de QB or memorize ANYTHING.

UK passport holder aspiring pilot — should I go CAA or EASA if I want to eventually live/work in Europe?

Hi everyone,

I’m 20 and a UK passport holder currently planning my route into becoming a commercial pilot, but I’m stuck on choosing which licence system to go with and would really appreciate some honest advice from people in the industry.

My long-term goal is to eventually move and work permanently in Europe (ideally somewhere like Spain/Portugal/Greece). I don’t currently have any EU right to work.

I’ve been researching both routes:

•UK CAA training pathway
•EASA training pathway

From what I understand:

•CAA seems to align more with UK airlines (Jet2, TUI, BA, etc.)

•EASA seems to align more with European airlines (Ryanair, Wizz Air, easyJet EU ops, etc.)

But I’m getting mixed advice online about whether an EASA licence would actually limit my options as a UK passport holder without EU work rights.

My main questions are:

  1. Which route gives me the most flexibility long-term?

  2. Is it realistic to start EASA training as a UK citizen and still build a career in Europe later?

  3. Would I be limiting myself too much by not going CAA first?

  4. How difficult is it actually to get into EU airlines as a UK passport holder?

My goal is to avoid spending £100k+ on training and ending up stuck in a limited job market.

Any advice from pilots or people in training would be massively appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

How could I hook Pilots/Cadets Heart?

Im a Marketing from different industry. Its hard in Pilot niche. We have a product now that we need to market but its really hard because Im not in Aviation Industry. Most likely its a Question Bank with some CBT (partial). We just need someone to try and give us a feedback.

:( Its kinda frustrating.

POF and Met

Hey. I have POF and MET UK CAA in a few days. What’s your recommendation for the next few days. Ideally I would want a high grade as possible but I’m so done I’ll take a 76 if needs to be.

My plan is to do a mock, pick the lowest 3 topics and then just go through them till I have a strong understanding and since and repeat. Well that’s what I’ve been doing already so I think I’ll just carry on. Then the 2 days before I’ll do L500 and then L300 night before and morning of the exam. My aim is to have been through the UK bank 4-5 times before exams in total. I’ve done them about 3-4 times now.

Any advice would be great :)
