Just moved into a house in Austin and realized my whiskey collection has more friends here than I do.
35, originally from Colorado. Into whiskey, motorsports, football, and generally any excuse to sit around with a good pour.
Looking to meet some local people who are into whiskey, bottle shares, tastings, or just cracking something good open.
Saw this at HEB today. Whistle Pig looks to be sourced syrup from Runamok. Looks to be full secondary lol.
With the big influx of typically hard to get bottles hitting the shelves this year, I’d love to hear your stories about your best finds (could be your favorite bottle or hardest to find).

Multiple Total Wines in DFW area
Hi all- any good drops today at these locations? Want to get my cousin who just got home from deployment a nice Bourbon tonight. Thanks!!
Was told allocated is in office. Bald dude snaps with “she dont know what shes talking about. All thats gone”, then proceeded to show me their isle shelves. Came off as rude and not good customer service at all.
Picked up from twins on lamar, they said some guy bought 6 bottles yesterday. I took the last one on the shelf. So maybe they'll put another on the shelf later..??? But idk
I planned an Austin trip for several weeks and checked Still Austin’s socials constantly, except for their Stories (I’m not a Stories person), only to find the distillery was closed for a private event.
I'm really disappointed in the distillery. A closure warrants a much larger announcement than just a Story post.
Did the distillery post repeatedly on their Stories that they were closing?
Most people who travel plan their trips weeks in advance, so I don't understand how a 24-hour Story post is considered sufficient exposure.
Their Google hours weren't updated either, and it was clear that a lot of people didn't get the message.
