Former Aberdeen winger Nicolas Milanovic: ‘There was no brotherhood at the Dons’

He said: “In Aberdeen it was tough because there was never a brotherhood. We signed over 20 different nationalities in the first team which is insane. I’ve never seen that.

Half of the team spoke English and there were so many different languages. Everyone was trying to speak English, but it was hard.

“I had a Dutch boy on my left, a Swedish boy on my right, a Danish boy, Kusini Yengi, a German, a Ghanaian. It’s just a different outlook in the changing room and it’s so hard.

“I’m sure it could work, but it just didn’t as our first coach was sacked, then the next coach came in, and a few Scottish lads came in. The coach now is Northern Irish, so some Northern Irish lads have come in.

I looked at the line-up the other day and there was one player in the whole squad that was the same to when I got there and that was only a year ago.
“That’s 18 players in a matchday which is just crazy.”

From the evening express, definitely sounds it was a split dressing room last season

Pistol Pete departs

Ambrose has left to join Swiss side Neuchatel Xamas. Good to get another player off the wage bill. Will always have that goal against Dundee United

Red tinted glasses and all that...

I don't know about anyone else, but looking at the clips of the cup final again after Mitovs departure is just depressing me.

Polvara, Clarkson, (an interested Palaversa), Morris, Gueye, Shinnie, McKenzie, Sokler, Mitov... Yes, at times we were fucking shite and Thelins record was latterly extremely pish. But it felt like the majority really got it.

Fast forward to today, Lyons, Mayo, Olysania, Yogane, Happe, Cadden, Aremu, Armstrong.

How many would you swap back if you could?

Yogane for Morris

Olysania for Gueye

Mayo for Polvara

Cadden for McKenzie

Clarkson for Aremu

Even Sokler for Nisbet!

I've literally just taken random names here, but almost all of them.

I mean I gave lots of them a slagging at times both from the terraces and from my house and I know we weren't great and maybe it was a personal thing but it felt like there was hope, a plan for change, a passion from both fans and player.

Now we are following the model of mid to bottom level all premiership teams. Battling for survival rather than striving for success, playing eye bleeding horror ball. Probably scraping top 6 but getting battered by the top 3 or 4 all season.

I want to be excited for the season ahead, instead I'm already thinking this might be my least engaged season in about 30 years.

Thoughts?

More New Signings to Come?

So, do we think there will be anymore incomings during this window, or only exits?

I have a feeling Ntelo will be the last, thoughts?

Stephen Robinson press conference clip post 0-2 loss Vs Dundee

"People haven't said too much about us winning 5 [in a row]" - so he's wanting credit for beating lower league teams and a lucky win against hearts. Doesn't sound like the high standards he talked about setting before
