The way this German bakery writes their S.

Is this a common way to write S for Germans?

UPDATE: I reached out to the bakery, it's in a large US city, it was opened in 2011 and owned by a couple who immigrated from Germany many years ago. The sign was written by one of their workers who is not German, and does their community outreach/participation in Farmer's markets. This was the first time it was brought to their attention. Looks to be innocent, but not well thought out.
