Recommendations for body products?

Hello! Was wondering if anyone had recommendations for body products besides aquaphor/vaseline/vani cream. I'm looking for something less greasy than them :/

I used to use the aloe vaseline lotion so I had to order a new aloe for sunburned skin, but I'm now I'm looking for something to help with the dryness since my burn has turned to tan lol. I'm looking for more of a lotion to help moisturize! Anything for full body that isn't too pricey would be ideal right now since I've recently had to swap out all my products </3 Thank you !! :)

Do you all think this is an allergic reaction? Tiny flesh colored bumps on the base of my index and third finger 12 days after applying a set of LA COLORS nails with their glue. No other fingers have this but my thumb nail does have a peeling cuticle. I sometimes get peeling cuticle but never bumps

Retail Brand: LA colors

Lash glue irritation/allergy? + glue recommendations

around the start of June i had some pretty badly placed lashes (touching my waterline basically) with a lot of glue touching my eyelid, this gave me a little puffy and red incident, and the redness was localised to where the glue was touching it/affecting the eye with worse placement. it went away in like 2 days and i was able to wear lashes with no issue for like 6 days (no glue touching skin) ive had more of these incidents where my eyes will be localised red and kinda rough feeling if the placement is too close to my skin or if there is any glue touching my skin, and it fades within like 2-3 days. while wearing the lashes, i don’t feel any burning, itchiness or any symptoms you’d get from a typical allergy, even when i have the reaction and healing, my eyes don’t feel irritated or painful even though they can look a bit dramatic. if anyone has experience something similar i would really appreciate sharing how you prevent it? my application is a bit messy and i’m working on it. Also if anyone could recommend a really strong bond and seal that last 5+ days so it reduces having to redo my clusters and potentially getting glue on my skin. i don’t think this is an allergy as i am able to wear lashes with 0 issue if i apply them carefully and no glue to skin contact is made, are my eyelids just sensitive? i provided some photos of some of the episodes/how my lashes look normally. if any of the photos look dramatic, most are taken after lash removal where i had to rub my already irritated skin with baby oil, the redness usually goes down within the first couple hours, and the dryness takes around 1-2 days. i may have slight lash blindness but don’t bully me lol

Kapa Nui?

Has anyone tried kapanui with success?

I first developed a gel allergy that has turned into all nail polishes (even OPI and other “natural” ones) but weirdly can use whatever on my toes.

I came across this brand that’s apparently water based and wondered if anyone has tried it? I don’t use anything on my finger nails these days but miss it a lot. I need to get allergy testing done still but since I mostly just stay away from glues/polishes I haven’t felt like I needed to.

silver acrylate free nail polish recs? how dangerous is epoxy resin in polish?

I have been doing my own gel press on nails for less than a year. Before I even started, I had looked into allergies and took them seriously.

I never put gel on my natural nails (bc I was scared I might get some on my skin), always wore nitril gloves, wore a mask (not a respirator unfortunately) and made sure to cure every layer for the appropriate time. I wasn't aware, however, that my nail glue (makartt) also contained dangerous cyanoacrylates. And I don't even remember, how often I got it on my skin... I feel so stupid for not realizing that sooner.

While I was making my last set, my hands started burning underneath my gloves and I got red blisters that even went up to my under arms. Foolishly I finished the set and glued the nails on the next day. My hands had red itchy and burning blisters. I managed to pry the nails off the day after. It has been about a week and my skin looks and feels a lot better now.

I'm pretty much 100% sure that my worst fear came true and I developed an acrylate allergy. I would love to get a patch test done to find out what exactly I'm allergic to, but all dermatologists near me refuse to take on new patients, unless you literally have skin cancer. I have since discovered that my hair, make-up and skincare products contain acrylates and am replacing them.

I'm also looking for acrylate free nail polishes. I have found some, but I haven't been able to find a silver one. I know it's unnecessary, but my nails are a huge part of my self expression as an alternative woman and I'm already overwhelmed by all of the changes I need to make in my routines and my appearance. I've found a silver polish without acrylates copolymer, but it contains Tosylamide/Epoxy resin. I'm honestly desperate for a silver nail polish so I'm tempted to try it. I know it's probably a bad idea though, since I'm already sensitized to acrylates.

Is there any silver nail polish without acrylates? Would it be a terrible idea to try a polish with epoxy resin? I would welcome any method for me to be able to have silver nails again.

Also any tips on how to practically and mentally/emotionally deal with all of these scary changes would be much appreciated, since I'm basically in a constant state of freaking out. Thanks for reading

I think my glp1 is helping with my acrylate allergy flare ups .

Disclaimer: Its just speculation of my symptoms I haven brought it up to a doctor yet.

So, I searched online if glp1 can help with inflammation and ofc they do. But I’m pleasantly surprised by my results relating to my acrylate allergy. I used to avoid using certain makeup products, skincare, shampoo &. Even lotions . God forbid I use regular nail polish or even nail glue. Sometimes I risk breaking out just to feel glam and I know that’s bad bc of exposure but I’ve been dealing with this allergy for 3 years and sometimes I like to wear my nails and such once in a while. I recently went on vacation after being on my glp1 for 2 months now and I was wearing all of the above. Nail glue , sun screen (which also causes bad flare ups for me) eyelash extensions. & makeup . All I got was a verrrry small dry patch no itch , no inflammation, no cracked skin from extreme dryness . I feel it’s definitely due to the glp . I wish I had done this sooner ! Side note : I’m still careful with what I use on my skin just in case but I have been using nail polish more often.

Issues with silicone rings?

For the life of me, I can’t find anything about Acrylates being in silicone rings, but I can barely wear them anymore. Other than the worn out ones I’ve worn forever, my newer ones make my hands hurt (which is typically the reaction I get when exposed to Acrylates). Has anyone dealt with this?

Nail Glue Recommendations

Can anybody recommend a Nail glue that would work for press on’s that doesn’t need to be UV cured? I developed an acrylate allergy and I’m trying to find a nail glue for press on’s that’s HEMA free but all the ones I see have to be UV cured:(

Prep & Healing Plan for First Tattoo Post-Diagnosis

I will be getting my first tattoo post-diagnosis of my acrylate allergy (I am pretty heavily tattooed already but always reacted poorly and didn't know why - turns out lots of tattoo inks are full of acrylates). I have several other allergies and suspected MCAS, so here is what I'm doing to prep and hopefully avoid any reactions!

 1. First and foremost, find an artist you trust and can talk to. I have talked with my artist in depth about my allergy and necessary restrictions and she has been very flexible and supportive in working with me.
 2. Check the ink ingredients, including the Safety Data Sheets if available. I will be trying the Panthera Black Gold ink which is advertised as preservative free (common source of acrylates) and does not have any acrylates listed on the ingredients list or the SDS.
 3. Check other products used during the tattoo process (i.e., soaps, ointments, etc.). Basically check anything that will be touching your skin. My artist will be using vaseline instead of typical tattoo ointments like hustle butter.
 4. No second skin!! Adhesives are made with acrylates which makes second skin/tegaderm/saniderm bandages a no-go. I tend to weep plasma for a prolonged period of time (likely related to being allergic to the ink) so my hope is that this will be reduced when using an acrylate-free ink. However, if not, I plan to use absorbent underpads while sleeping and wear dark, loose, cotton clothing when out in public. I may also utilize nonstick sterile gauze pads overnight as needed but please do this with caution as this can interfere with healing if you do not let your tattoo breathe.

This is NOT medical advice but I've spend a LOT of time researching and trying to come up with a plan. I also have a lot of tattoos already, so I already know how my body heals and feel comfortable experimenting with my aftercare. I feel like this allergy can be really frustrating and isolating so I wanted to share for anyone dealing with something similar. Obviously it would be easier to just not get tattooed, but tattoos have always been a big part of my identity and I'm not willing to let this allergy take that too, at least until I've tried this management strategy.

Is it possible to be allergic to your night guard (upper body rashes, etc.) without any local irritation on/around your mouth?

I've been having mysterious allergy symptoms since around the time I started. I do have some allergies and rosacea and other stuff going on (possibly mcas), but something has made my body go even more haywire. And I realize it lines up with around the time I started my night guard**. Is that a possible thing to flag? Is it worth asking my dentist if it contains acrylates, and if so, are there alternatives?**

I'm often waking up with rashes on my arms (and now asthma), and this rash doesn't really go away, but it "activates" or worsens at times. Increase in redness, flushing, itching, break outs, etc. on my chest, neck, shoulders. I use 100 percent cotton sheets, hypoallergenic pillows and bedding. I soak my night guard in white vinegar and use an ultrasonic cleaner, so it's not like I could be reacting to a chemical solution.

I switched from my gentle laundry detergent to an even gentler one, have cross referenced product ingredients like crazy, and it's not like there's a clear allergen. I've cut everything out one at a time, stuck with my old products, tried one new at a time. It calms/worsens in random waves. If it were truly contact derm, I'd be reacting on my legs by now. And there's no real consistency re. ingredients; it doesn't make sense that I could tolerate cocoglucoside in my shampoo and not my body wash, or on some parts of my body and not others. Plus we're talking about products like vanicream. So I feel like something is being missed. I was going to get patch tested but had to cancel due to having another skin reaction that includes my back, but I'm honestly not even sure it's safe for me right now given that it's affecting my breathing, etc. I would never use 99 percent of those chemicals anyway.

I’m scared I’m allergic to gel polish😭😭

I’ve been doing my nails myself for a few months now (with beetles ik they suck) and have been using there nail tips and glue with no problems.

I switched to doing my nails on my natural nails about a month and a half ago and the first time i had no problems however the last two times i’ve noticed some itching around my cuticle area a few hours after finishing the set. There hasn’t been any swelling and I want to believe that it’s only red because of the itching.

The itching would go away after a week or two so I just thought it was irritation and ignored it, however since it happened a second time I got a little scared a started googling and I went down a rabbit hole and now i’m scared. I also might just be paranoid.

does it look like an allergic reaction or is it just irritation?

Face Lotion Reccomendations

I have recently been diagnosed with an acrylate allergy. I have been replacing all of my beauty products with acrylate free products. I can’t seem to find a very moisturizing dewy face lotion. Does anyone have any recommendations? Previously I was using the Tatcha dewy skin cream and loved it but unfortunately it was contributing to my outbreaks. TIA!

What specific ingredients do you react to? What should I potentially look out for?

Suspected not confirmed acrylate allergy here.

I've never used gel polish but am wondering about my regular ILNP polishes (hopefully it's not that). But as I've been tracking allergens, I removed my nail polish for a bit. I've been getting irritation and breakouts on my chest again all of a sudden (whereas my rosacea was mostly just redness), and just realized I had painted my nails again about a week ago. My hands/nails look fine though. Not sure if that's a possibility but figured I'd ask due to a lot of weird patterns.

I'm waiting on my patch test, which I think tests for ethyl acrylate? but nothing else acrylate wise unless there's an ingredient I'm unfamiliar with. Would that tell me what to look out for in hair products and regular nail polish if I do have an acrylate allergy, or? What specific ingredients do you avoid?

It's so confusing because I have rosacea (face and chest and sometimes upper body??) and possibly kerotosis pilaris on my hands (derm will confirm) and dry/oily skin that tends to react. I think some stuff is falling between the cracks of derm vs allergist, and they haven't really asked about my routine.

Please if someone knows how i can help so it does not get any worse, i would really appreciate the help! I am so scared of it
