A bipartisan US Senate resolution calls for the repatriation of abducted Ukrainian children before any agreement with Moscow is finalized, while additional binding legislation could trigger a State Sponsor of Terrorism designation for Russia if it refuses to return them.
Now that Discharge Petition No. 8 has succeeded, thanks to tireless work of constituents, advocacy organizations, and legislators, H.R. 2913, the Ukraine Support Act will go up for a floor vote.
The Ukraine Support Act imposes strict sanctions on Russia's financial institutions, oil and mining sectors, and government officials. It also includes critical guardrails preventing the unilateral termination of existing sanctions without cause. It is a serious, bipartisan response to a serious threat — and it’s aligned with American values, American interests, and American public opinion.

One month ago over 700 constituents from all 50 states came to DC for the 8th Ukraine Action Summit to meet with their representatives and advocate for Ukraine. In total there were 445 meetings, which resulted in more than 60 new co-sponsorships of target legislation. The graph above shows the impact on cosponsors of the Peace Through Strength Act.

President Zelensky said Ukraine’s long-range strikes have cut Russian oil refining by 10 percent in recent months and forced energy companies to shut down wells. He said Russia’s deficit has already exceeded full-year projections and that “Putin is leading Russia toward bankruptcy.”
