Ok so basically i have had this iphone sitting in my home for 2-3 years? My moms ex boyfriend stole it i originally thought it was my moms and she forgot about it somehow but when i reset it and stupidly updated it it said it was locked to this yahoo account. I genuinley thought it was my moms so i updated it a bit ago, and now its just been sitting once again.Is there anyway i can save this phone or is this waste atp?

basically i bought this mdm bypassed ipad 9th gen on a second hand market place and there havent been any problemd updating from minor updates ex ios 26.5 to ios 26.6. but i was wondering if its safe to do major updates. idk the bypassing tool used on it
Hey everyone, hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I bought a used iPhone about two years ago and everything worked fine — I've been using it daily with my own Apple ID and iCloud. Today I updated to the latest iOS version and the phone suddenly locked with an Activation Lock screen. I had no idea, but it turns out the phone must have been Activation Lock bypassed by whoever sold it to me, and the iOS update caused it to revert back to being locked to the original owner's account.

I have no proof of purchase (bought secondhand, cash, from someone in another city, no receipt), no contact info for the seller, and it's been two years so there's no realistic way to track them down. I do know my own Apple ID/iCloud email that I was using on the phone, but when I try to log in on my laptop, it asks for the phone number linked to the account — I enter it correctly, but it's esim so it can't be used on another device. I don't currently have another device to test the SIM in. Has anyone been through this exact situation — secondhand phone, bypassed lock reactivated by an update, no purchase proof? Did Apple Support/Account Recovery/Genius Bar actually help you get back in, and what did they ask for? Trying to figure out if I have any real options here or if this phone (and my data on it) is just gone. Any advice appreciated.

So a few months ago I was trying to install something on my phone, it asked me for my Apple ID password which I had forgot so after a few incorrect tries I went to change it. Only for it to not let me because Apple had locked the ID, I got in contact with customer support and they basically confirmed that my Apple ID no longer existed. The phone I was logged in on now can’t be wiped because it needs the Apple ID password but because the ID no longer exists I can’t reset it or anything. when plugged in the Apple devices for windows software doesn’t detect it at all and I’m now lost for ideas of what to do next. I need to get the Apple ID off there and clear the phone for a friend who’s buying it off me so if anyone has any idea how I can do this it would be much appreciated as Apple haven’t really been a great help. If anyone needs more details I’m happy to provide, thanks!

I was trying to reset my mom’s iPhone, but it was iCloud-locked, meaning it couldn’t normally be reset or activated without the Apple ID password or login details. While trying again and again, I found a way to bypass the lock and reset the iPhone. I didn’t believe at first I tried it with another phone that I didn’t use and it had iCloud linked to it and it worked again What should I do with this information? Can I report the security issue to Apple, and is there a way to receive a reward or payment lool
I got iPhone 8 Plus second hand, owner told me it’s legal as I can use Touch ID, signal and all services
I can add my iCloud, enable Find My, use Apple Store and when I visited the apple site it listed the phone under my devices
When I searched my Iemi to check it, it gave me there is activation lock
I can NOT search for updates or activate iMessages or FaceTime
I contacted apple regarding this and they say there is a probability I’m gonna face a activation lock when I reset it with iTunes
So please help me know if it’s bypassed or not
And will it affect me using it normally as my main device for couple of months!
I've been scrolling on this subreddit for weeks I have yet to find a feasible way to bypass icloud lock. Just a bunch of software that doesn't work or is riddle with malware and incredible bugs.
but why i cannot login to my icloud?? are there further steps to be taken after the bypass?
if i can't loging then i cant use app store... point me to the right direction
