Has anyone ever successfully had a knock off Denso 234-9005 o2 sensor work?

I'm just curious, have any of you ever purchased a Chinese knock off upstream o2 sensor (234-9005) for your RSX Type-S and had it work properly? or basically anything that isn't a Denso for this sensor?

I have gambled with this too many times to count. When I get the ol P0134 on any of my k-series cars I think hmm maybe I can save a few bucks and buy the cheap knock off on amazon or ebay. It has NEVER worked for me.

Either the CEL comes on instantly, or I get some weird lurching behavior as the signal sent to the ECU glitches all over.

Never had this issue buying knock off downstream o2 sensors. Just curious about others experience with this. I always end up just buying the expensive Denso and it works. I just wish I could find an OEM equivalent that was not $150+

CAT and EVAL I/‘ Readiness still in progress after 100 miles driven

Recently replaced my downstream o2 sensor because of a CEL p0138 code, which fixed the CEL, but i have to do emissions soon, and my cat and eval tests are still in progress( blinking in photo) even after 100 miles driven after clearing the code. I’ve tried coasting at 55 mph on the highway, doing stop and go driving, what else does this damn ecu need to clear my tests???

Type R headers and catalytic converter on a Base model to fit a Skunk2 Mega power 70mm exhaust.

Hi everyone, I am very new to owning a DC5/RSX and was wondering if the Type R headers for the K20A2 will bolt up to the base model K20A3? I've seen a few other posts in this community about this and have seen a lot of people talking about sway bar clearance. Are there any sway bars that would fit on a base model but also give the Type R headers the clearance they need?

K24 swap my base 5 speed RSX or save for a Type-S?

Hey yall, I picked up this 06 base 5 speed about a year ago. Bought it at 140k miles for about 3k. It runs and drives but needs some work.
Rust in the floor pan (no issue for me to fix)
Needs a respray
General maintenance

The big question is if I really should commit to this car. I have the ability to do a k24 swap which is tempting, but im unsure if its worth it.

Part of me wants to fix what i need to fix, and slowly build it out. Another part wants to sell it and save up for a type s.

What would yall do? Any advice helps!

2003 Type S no resistance on first half of clutch travel, no trouble shifting

Hello all. Recently i have noticed that there is little to no resistance on the first half of my clutch travel and also my clutch has been getting stuck about halfway down as seen in this video. Any ideas as to what might be causing it and should it be addressed ASAP? The car has 260K miles and not sure if CMC or slave cylinder have been replaced. I’ve had the car for about 3 months and it is my first manual. Thanks in advance.

Is it normal for new catback exhaust to smell and smoke a bit?

Does anyone have any experience installing brand a new catback exhaust and it smells?

I was SO sure it was an exhaust leak because it hurts my eyes in the cabin as well a bit, but I did some looking and it only smells out the exhaust.

I am coming to the conclusion that it's just the factory oils and residue burning off once it gets hot enough. YES I'm running cats, it did not smell like that before when I had my stock exhaust.

Idk if it matters but the cat back I put on is the Invidia N1.

Edit: there are like finger prints of mine on the exhaust and my hands were like low-key dirty, I think that also may contribute to the smells as it needs to get burned off?

RSX Steering wheel not centered after installing new steering wheel. How to center the steering wheel.

So I Installed a new OEM steering wheel from an EP3. However, I think I did it wrong. When I removed it the steering wheel was at +45 degrees. When my brother installed back he centered at the clock at the middle. Now the steering wheel is towards the left when the wheels are straight.

What should I do here. Is there a way to know which is the correct point to installed back.

Here is a picture of how it looks when the wheels are pointing straight.

EDIT/UPDATE

I followed the instructions of the Hemls manual and the steering wheel was slightly pointing counterclockwise. I just took for an alignment and now is straight.

Clutch pedal sticking to floor after bleeding clutch fluid.

My slave cylinder is currently on its way out, Ive ordered a new one but its going to take a bit. Since it is failing I thought to change the fluid as it was pretty gross. Keep in mind the clutch worked more or less perfectly fine before hand.

So I drained all the old fluid out then I put fresh fluid in the reservoir and did the standard hose with a bottle method that the shop manual says to use. Ive been bleeding it and no air bubbles are coming out but the pedal isn't becoming firm.

I also tried doing the thing were you pump the pedal a couple times hold it against the floor (but in my case I don't need to hold it, it just stays there) then opening the bleeding screw, and have the fluid rush out, then close it and repeat. Didn't work.

I get the issue could be caused by my failing slave cylinder, but then why was it working before?

I'm not sure what to do so any help would be much appreciated.

Is there any company that makes a reliable high output alternator?

I can’t seem to find any reputable company that makes a makes a good high output alternator, somewhere around 150-200 amps or more. I’m looking to upgrade my audio system, and the stock 90 amp alternator won’t cut it.

Power steering hose is not sitting flush on pump. Any tips ?

I bought a new pump and using the same hose but it’s not sitting flush. I try to push it hard but it’s still not sitting flush and when I tighten the bolt it kinda makes it worse. Any thought or tips ? It’s causing air to get inside since I’m still seeing bubbles in the pump

2006 RSX A/C makes loud hissing/grinding noise behind dash when turned on after recharg

I have a 2006 Acura RSX Base automatic and I’m having a weird issue with the AC. I recently recharged the AC with R-134a last weekend because the AC wasn’t working properly.

Now whenever I turn the AC on, I hear a really noticeable noise coming from behind the dash. I’m honestly not even sure if I would describe it as a hissing sound or more of a grinding/buzzing type of noise. It’s hard to describe, so I attached a video so you guys can hear it for yourselves.

The noise starts when I turn the AC on and continues constantly while the AC is running. As soon as I turn the AC button off, the noise stops.
I can hear it pretty clearly from inside the car and it sounds like it’s coming from somewhere behind the dash, not from the engine bay.

What’s confusing me is that I just recharged the system last weekend. I’m wondering if this could be something with the expansion valve, evaporator, or possibly a refrigerant leak. I’m not sure if this is something normal that I’m just noticing now or if there’s actually something wrong with the system.

Has anyone with an RSX experienced a noise like this before? Does the video sound more like refrigerant/expansion valve noise or something mechanical?
I’m not planning on adding any more refrigerant until I figure out what’s going on.

Video attached for reference. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Progress CS3 rear coilover assembly help, there are not enough threads for the nut

Hello everyone, long time owner, first time poster here. Having rebuilt a set of mono rs once and had them blow a second time, I am upgrading to something I hope to be more durable. I purchased the Progress CS3 set some of your suggestions, but am having trouble assembling the rear coilovers.

I am assembling them iaw the diagram but there is not enough room for the nuts to thread on, and it looks like there should be lots of room according to the photos I've seen. I have made sure the bushings are fully seated into the housing. Is there something I am missing or any tips from those who have assembled these before

Ktuner end user kit on 06 base automatic with 150k miles

Was planning on selling it, but changed my mind. Had it for 8 years so far best car i’ve ever had really. Hate that its an automatic, it looks way cleaner compared to my 05 TL 6speed. Between the two, this one definitely gets more attention.

Since its automatic, never considered any performance mods and focused on cosmetics and stereo/sound. However it has a short ram and full hks exhaust. Cat was stolen so the header is welded to the catback with a straight pipe.

I have an ecu with the ktuner end user kit that i played around with but never left on permanently. Is it safe to run the reflash at 150k miles? Pops on decel for sound? Performance numbers aren’t a big deal to me, i just love to drive it and hear it. I messed around with limiter settings but am not too savvy with other settings.
