2005 RSX Type S, what else do I need to replace? I replaced IACV sensor and did relearn, but Idle still 1-3 rpm
Just needed to post some pics of my repainted baby 2004 rsx type r
2003 base model runs sketchy. Skipping while idling
I bought it a year ago and been working on it since. Got it to turn on it now when it runs it skips. I know this exhaust is too big it came with it. Looking for and tips on why this might be happening. Any info is appreciated.
Not finding much info on what to replace in my REAR suspension. Also looking for parts list critiques.
To cut to the chase:
02-type S, original suspension, creaking, and I want to replace as much as possible at once. It is my daily, and I want to do it once, do it right, but on a reasonable budget.
Parts list after reading many write-ups:
- Progress CS3 Coilovers
- MOOG Front Control arms: (RK640287, RK6040288)
- MOOG Ball Joints (K90493)
- MOOG Adjustable Rear Camber Arm (RK90351 * 2)
- MOOG Tie Rod Ends (ES80995 *2)
- PCI Steering Rack Slider
Seeing as the CS3's are supposedly built so that "tie-rod locations have been modified for bump steer", I would assume I don't need a rack riser or extended ball joints? Found a lot of conflicting information there.
All those parts are also for the front suspension. What do I need for the rear? Can I get by with the Hardrace lower control arm kit? Will having poly bushings in the back and rubber bushings in the front cause any issues?
Front Motor mount through bolt area on subframe has been damaged from loose bolt.
There’s been a loose bolt in here for a long time and it’s clearly opened up the area from rattling up and down. What do I do other than get a whole new subframe?
Here’s my 06 type s looking to put a type r or an, a spec wing, where can I find, and what’s the best way to deal with the holes left from the deck lid.
Exhaust help… want new exhaust for type-s, plan on tracking it.
I want to get an exhaust for my type-s but not really sure where to really start looking any recommendations? I don’t want it to be to loud but I kinda want it deeper and a little meaner if yall know what I mean.
First summer cruise up the mountain. 8k rpm and mountains roads 👌🏼
I need help finding an exhaust manifold for my base Acura RSX 2006
Hello everyone,
I recently found out that I need to replace my exhaust manifold (part #18000-PND-000), but I’ve also learned that Honda has discontinued it.
I’ve called several junkyards without any luck, and the shop I took my car to said that if I can’t find the part, I should probably start looking for another car. This is my first car, and it means a lot to me, so I’m really hoping I don’t have to give up on it.
I’m not very car-savvy, so I’m feeling pretty lost. I found an aftermarket exhaust manifold on Parts Geek, but I have no idea if it’s a reputable site or whether the part will actually fit my car.
Someone also suggested just “straight piping” it, but I don’t really know what that means or whether it’s a good idea.
Has anyone dealt with this before or have any advice on what my best options are? I’d really appreciate any guidance, recommendations, or experience you can share. Thank you!
Does the base model rsx proportioning valve would work on a type s

Also if there’s any aftermarket parts for it
Rsx saved my life. Not actually but kinda lol. Almost died.
This is/was my 06 base with the 5 speed and I was going on a canyon cruise October 14 2024 and went off a 500ft cliff. I woke up at the bottom and crawled out and watched it burn up. Not looking for sympathy just sharing my story.
Anybody know what this metallic noise coming from my driver side wheel could be?
Got some new wheels are tires, and now I’m hearing this metallic banging sound coming from my front right. Sounds like a wire is stuck under the car or something but there’s nothing there. Usually hear it at lose speeds after turning. Anybody have any ideas?
Coffee and donut run anybody. Decided I'd go for a canyon run shake down after I had breakfast.
So I've gotten all other suspension parts installed. Tie rods end links, ball joints. Got an alignment as well. She held up pretty well but I still dont like the megan racing suspension it has on. Little too stiff for my liking. Ive only ever ran BC, KW, or skunk 2 suspension on my other cars. I may have to change these.
new to me 2002 RSX .
give me some mod ideas that wont make it a pain to daily drive
Battery not charging (12V running, drops to 6-8V) new battery, new grounds, still draining.
Hey guys, need some help troubleshooting a charging issue that's been going on for a bit.
Stuff I noticed:
- Car runs at 11-12V instead of the normal 13.5-14.5V. this was the first thing I noticed
- Voltage slowly drops the longer it runs, down to critical 6-8V by end of day
- Won't stay running at all now unless connected to external power (jump/jump box)
- Starts fine while jumped, but dies shortly after disconnecting
What I've replaced:
- New battery (fresh)
- Grounds. negative battery grounds were badly corroded, replaced both (chassis + trans side) with new ring terminals. Didn't fix the issue.
- Alternator. I believe this is new/recently replaced, but I'm not 100% sure of its history yet (was given this car about a year ago. i think i replaced the starter though, not the alternator, idfk i dont rmbr lol)
My power steering hose has been leaking and PS fluid has gotten on some stuff nearby wondering if PS fluid contamination near/on the alternator could be causing it to not charge properly. Need to check this first before assuming.
I'm going to check my alternator's main output wire connection and small harness connector, belt tension/condition, and probably planning to get a free charging system test at AutoZone once I can get it running long enough to drive there
Has anyone dealt with PS fluid getting on their alternator and causing charging issues? Or any other ideas what else could cause 12V-running-dropping-to-critical, especially after ruling out grounds? Car is an 02 RSX Type S, K20A2. Appreciate any input, this one's been a headache.
2002 Acura Rsx type s timing chain help cams not aligned

I pull the engine i set it to top dead center as i rotated the engine the timing chain kept slipping more and more teeth when at top dead center the cams are obviously not aligned how do i fix this? Remove the cams and set them? Recommendations?
2002 Type-S Moog Lower Control Arm Installation Issues
Hey guys, I'm slightly losing my mind trying to figure out what I am doing wrong in regards to installing a set of Moog front LCAs I bought.
I needed to refresh some front suspension components, so I bought new LCAs (Moog RK640287 and RK640288), ball joints, and end links. I started on the driver side and was able to get the knuckle off to press in the new ball joint with no issues, I also installed the end link on the sway bar and hand-tightened it. The issue is after setting the LCA into the two mounting points on the body, I cannot get the knuckle + ball joint pushed back enough toward the body to get into the final mounting point of the LCA. Essentially the knuckle is sitting 3-4 inches away from the LCA.
I tried removing the knuckle from the strut so I could put it on the LCA first and then push the knuckle back into the strut mounts with no luck. I also started to think that maybe the control arms I ordered were not for the Type-S but from everything I could find, on the 02-04 the controls arms are the same between the base and the Type-S.
Is there a specific sequence I should be following? Any help would be appreciated, I'm going to give it another shot after I get out of work.
Edit: Can confirm the LCA is exactly like the old one, added some photos and video further down if anyone else minds taking a look, thanks for all the help so far!
Should I get a 02-04 Rsx Type s or a 8th gen Civic Si Coupe
I know you guys will be biased but I want honest feedback for why I should or shouldn’t consider either of these cars. I am looking for a second car that is practical for using almost everyday but also fun and engaging to drive. Either through corners or not. I would also want a car with many different options for modding which I already assume is both of these cars. But which one is better? I am between the 02-04 type s and a 8th gen Civic Si coupe. Why should I or why shouldn’t I get one or the other?
