In the episode "Double Dilenma", before Ash has his official rematch with Norman he runs into a town full of his biggest fans, who spend the entire episode hating him just because he wants to challenge their idol. Basically Max's actions next episode taken up to eleven. Anyway, the episode ends with our heroes leaving, with no indication that these assholes learned anything.

Now, in the episode we learn that May and Max are equally as beloved as their father by this cult, with May's contest goals being well recieved. So what do you think would happen if, while bringing her new boyfriend home to her parents, they wind up going through North Petalburg and they see their beloved Princess is dating the same guy they spent an entire episode hating? Because I'm thinking of writing a oneshot about it, and I'd love some insight.
