A girl lost her life bcz of of medical negligence in a medical college at Ahmednagar Homoeopathic college and Hospital

A Serious Question: Why Was Timely Emergency Care Not Available at a Medical College Hospital?

Ms. Gayatri Autade, an Intern at AHMC (Ahmednagar Homoeopathic Medical College), Ahilyanagar, reportedly became unconscious at approximately 9:30 AM on 17 August 2026 while she was on the third floor of the college premises.

According to the information available to us, she reportedly exhibited symptoms suggestive of an epileptic seizure, and it was also known that she had a history of cardiac illness.

Following the incident, several students immediately rushed to assist her and informed nearby faculty members. A faculty member, who is also a doctor, reportedly checked her pulse and expressed the possibility of hypoglycaemia.

A stretcher was reportedly requested, but students allegedly had to arrange and bring the stretcher themselves. They subsequently carried her downstairs and placed her in the college hospital ambulance.

It is further alleged that the ambulance driver was not immediately available and that oxygen was reportedly unavailable in the ambulance at the time of the emergency.

She was subsequently taken to a private hospital for further treatment, where, unfortunately, she passed away.

These circumstances raise several serious questions that require a fair, impartial and fact-based investigation.

Questions that deserve clear answers:

• Why was the established Blue Code / Emergency Response Protocol, if applicable, not activated or followed?

• Why was a stretcher not immediately available at the scene?

• Why was the ambulance driver reportedly not immediately available?

• Why was the patient taken to a private hospital despite the college having its own hospital?

• Was adequate oxygen supply available in the emergency ambulance at the time of the incident?

• If the oxygen supply had reportedly been exhausted earlier, why had it not been refilled before the ambulance was required for an emergency?

• Were essential emergency medicines, resuscitation equipment and other life-support facilities immediately available?

• Was valuable time lost during the critical early period of the emergency?

• Why was immediate emergency management reportedly not provided at the college hospital?

Our central concern

If these facts are confirmed, how could an Intern doctor facing a medical emergency not receive timely emergency care within a medical college campus that has its own hospital and is reportedly NABH-accredited?

This is not merely about one incident. It raises a broader question about the preparedness, accessibility and functioning of emergency services for every student, faculty member and patient who may require urgent care.

At the same time, it is important that no individual or department be held responsible without a proper investigation. The facts, sequence of events and accountability must be established objectively.

We request the administration to clarify:

• Whether the emergency response protocol was activated and, if not, why not.

• Whether oxygen, emergency medicines, resuscitation equipment and other essential emergency supplies were available and functional.

• Whether the ambulance was operational and emergency-ready 24×7.

• Who was responsible for maintaining the ambulance, oxygen supply and emergency equipment?

• Whether any delay occurred in providing emergency care or transferring the patient.

• What corrective measures will be implemented to prevent such incidents in the future?

• Within what timeframe will these measures be implemented?

🔴 Our Clear Demand

We respectfully demand a thorough, transparent and impartial investigation into the entire incident.

The investigation should establish:

What happened?
What facilities were available?
What facilities were unavailable?
Was there any delay in emergency response?
Were established protocols followed?
And, if deficiencies are identified, who was responsible for them?

The college should immediately ensure the availability and functioning of:

• Emergency Medical Equipment
• Basic Emergency Kits
• Adequate Oxygen Supply
• Emergency Medicines
• Functional Stretchers
• A fully operational 24×7 Emergency Ambulance
• Essential Resuscitation Equipment
• Other necessary emergency-support facilities

BLS/CPR training should be made mandatory for all faculty and relevant staff, with regular refresher training.

Regular emergency mock drills should also be conducted to ensure that protocols exist not merely on paper but can actually be implemented effectively during a life-threatening emergency.

All emergency equipment and facilities must be functional, regularly checked, adequately stocked and available 24×7.

No student, doctor, faculty member or patient should ever be placed at additional risk because essential emergency arrangements are unavailable or inaccessible when they are needed most.

This statement is not intended to make predetermined allegations against any individual or institution. It is a sincere request for transparency, accountability and an impartial investigation so that the facts of the incident can be established and appropriate corrective action can be taken.

The question is simple: If an emergency occurs tomorrow, will our emergency system be truly ready?

Discussion: Why are open relationships/marriages almost non-existent in Nagar? I've met quite a few couples who are in live-in relationships, but I haven't come across a single couple in an open relationship. The difference compared to Pune seems pretty drastic. Let me know about your observations.

Instagram GC for r/Ahmednagar?

I’ve been fortunate enough to do quite a few meetups with people I’ve connected with through Reddit, and I’m genuinely grateful for all the people I’ve gotten to meet. Thankfully, none of my experiences have been bad.

We already have a WhatsApp group with people we’ve met through Reddit, and we regularly use it to plan outings and meetups. But I feel like not everyone is comfortable with or active on WhatsApp.

It could be another easy way for people to connect, chat, and potentially plan casual meetups/outings.

What do you guys think? Would you join one?

Looking for a house for rent

Guys, can someone recommend me a semi-furnished 2BHK in Bhavani Nagar.

I can also pay if someone can go find out such houses for me as I am currently staying far away from Nagar and I need to move in by next month.
