Just upgraded from AirPods Pro 2 to Pro 3, and I’m honestly disappointed

I’ve been using the AirPods Pro 2 for a while, and I recently decided to upgrade to the new AirPods Pro 3. Honestly, I’m deeply disappointed. Here is my experience so far:

The Case feels cheaper Right out of the box, the case noticed me. It feels lighter and slightly larger, but to my absolute dismay, the lid wobbles left and right and rattles even when closed! The Pro 2 case feels significantly more solid, premium, and has absolutely no lid play. I guess I could live with the case since I always use a protective sleeve, but it’s still annoying.

Transparency Mode is a mess The moment I put the Pro 3 in, I immediately noticed how bad the Transparency mode is. To me, these don't feel like premium earbuds anymore—they feel like hearing aids that happen to play music. The sound is incredibly unnatural. It over-amplifies high-frequency household noises, my own voice sounds weird, and I can literally hear myself breathing. It makes me feel like a robot. In comparison, the AirPods Pro 2 are flawless in this regard—the Transparency mode is a 1:1 match with reality, to the point where you forget you're even wearing them.

ANC and Sound Quality Credit where credit is due: the ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) is definitely improved compared to the Pro 2. No arguments there.

However, when I played my favorite song, I faced another HUGE disappointment. The bass is practically missing. The sound is hollow, cheap, and lacks any fullness or depth. Even the maximum volume feels lower than on the Pro 2. The Pro 2 are literally capable of blowing your mind with their power, incredible depth, and heavy bass. They sound miles better than the Pro 3.

Conclusion For me, the AirPods Pro 3 are a serious downgrade. Anyone else experiencing the same issues, or did I just get a bad unit?

Even if vents look clean, they could still be filled in ruining transparency

It just seemed like the transparency on my Pro 2 was worsening over time. Visually to my eyes they looked clean. When I used macro mode on my iPhone, I noticed they were packed in. I don't even know how they got like that.

I followed the instructions using micellar water (but did it 5 times instead of 3). It drastically improved transparency. The clean one is the left one.

Frustrated with left airpod not charging

I've tried all the fixes, cleaning the contacts on the airpod, the contacts in the case (earbud, isoprop, even gentle scraping with a straightened paperclip). I still sometimes find the left airpod halfway charged, which is super annoying on flights and long workouts. Case is squeaky clean and free of any debris.

The Airpods are 3yrs old, and the batteries (both pods and case) are very good and give me around 6hr per charge. Feels wasteful to replace them but this is really frustrating.

Anything else I can try to get a permanent fix?

2 yrs with these guys

They sound as good as new and the battery is holding pretty well. Best earphones I have ever bought—worth every penny. Would buy it again without even thinking twice.

Question before upgrading

I’m currently still using the 1st gen airpods pro. Thinking of upgrading to the latest airpods pro but I’m curious about the major differences and upgrades that I’ll notice. My 1st gen is still in good condition, despite some rattling noises when shaking, but other than that it’s usable still.

Should I upgrade?

ANC and Transparency Mode imbalance airpods pro 2

I’ve had my airpods pro 2 (usb c version, newest firmware) for a year now, and recently I noticed that my left airpod’s anc and transparency (anything that has something to do with the microphones) do not work as good as the right one.

ANC- left airpod blocks less noise, more unfiltered sounds pass through the left ear.

Transparency mode - left ear does not get as much environmental sounds as the right one.

This issue has been extremely annoying, I can’t focus on anything if I use them, as I am constantly obsessing over the imbalance.

Is anyone experimenting the same issue? Any recommendations on how to deal with this?

Things I have already tried:

Deep clean: alcohol, micellar water, bluetack

Absolutely ridiculous

One side is real and the other one is fake… can you tell which one? (For mods I’m not asking if they’re real or not I simply want to show how crazy these fakes are)

Anyone else having trouble removing the tips from AAP3?

Just bought the Pro3 but for the life of me I can’t remove the tips, it’s like they’re super glued on.

Is this normal or any clue/tip to remove?

Need help please , new airpod pro 3 making annoying oceany wind sounds depending on what controls i use

This originally was just happening in the left where if i turned on ANC and then turned it off the sound of ocean or wind would remain in the left ear. or it'll be normal when i take them out the case, but the minute i try to change the audio settings to transparency or whatever the ocean sound will begin, now this is happening in the right ear and it's really annoying. i can't use them properly and don't know how to resolve it since cleaning isn't working nor is a reset. I have heard a lot of people have this issue too

Help my AirPods won’t reset or connect

I work in hospitality and sometimes guests leave/forget things. One guest left this AirPods pro 2 and normally we reach out to them if they’ve left something.if they’d like to get it back we keep it for them till they come back and if they say it’s okay we can give them out, we either keep them or give them out.So I called dibs on this AirPods because the guest wouldn’t reach back out to us.I tried to connect them but when I open them it makes like a beeping sound then just blinks amber and it doesn’t turn white no matter how many seconds I long press the button behind also I can’t see them on my Bluetooth even find my iPhone is not picking them up.What could be the issue and is it fixable

Hearing aid feature on AirPods Pro 3 available in India?

Hi, i have been thinking of buying AirPods Pro 3 to substitute as a hearing aid as well. However on some research it looks like the feature is not available in India atleast as of last year, do any of you have AirPods Pro 3 and have you used it as a hearing aid in India recently? What are your reviews?

AirPods Pro 3 - from hate to pretty good

As a user of every in-ear AirPod product ever, I hated my AirPod Pro 3’s.

The fit was terrible, and the noise reduction improvement was not noticeably better than Pro 2.

Tried all the tips; all crap. Part of the problem is that the housing of the AirPod Pro 3’s is significantly bulkier than Pro 2.

So bad that I’ve kept using my old Pro 2’s out of frustration, even though sometimes they don’t charge unless they’re perfectly seated in the case.

I just got a set of Comply memory foam tips yesterday. I didn’t know what size would work so I got the small/medium/large set.

Huge difference. HUGE.

I still think the Pro 3 bulk is a pain, particularly because I like to go to sleep with them in listening to an audiobook.

But the Comply tips make the comfort, noise reduction, and sound quality so much better.

Question direct translation with 2 AirPod Pro 2/3

Hello, Have you tried the two-person translation feature ?

What are the requirements for this to work with two pairs of AirPods Pro 2 or 3? Do you just need only one iPhone with Apple Intelligence and 2 people wearing 2 pairs AirPods Pro, or do both people also need to have two iPhones with them also ?

If they need also two iPhone it’s not good…

Thanks for your help

Ear Infections -- AirPods Pro -- Better solution?

Ear Infections -- AirPods Pro -- Better solution?

I have AirPods Pro 2.

The silicone heads irritate my ears, make my ear canal itchy, I get earwax buildup, and now I get ear infections.

When I use over-the-ear (normal) headphones, it all goes away.

Anyway ... what can I do so that I can use my AirPods Pros without all the ear problems and ear infections?

Or is there a better model / type that doesn't cause these issues (even if not Apple)? (Not full headphones, but are small.)

I prefer Apple because they have the best range and connections to Apple devices.

But I wonder if I have to give up my AirPod Pros to avoid ear infections?

Left AirPod pro 2 has reduced noice cancelation performance.

It's also not passing the ear tip test. The left AirPod's noise cancelation feels like it's only operating at 75% where sound that should be blocked ends up leaking though. It kind of sounds like how AirPods sound when nothing is turned on. Tried cleaning with isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush but it hasn't done anything. Also tried the sucking technique which hasn't worked (maybe I'm doing it wrong?)

Any tips?
