Volume Control Gone?

Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this, but when I swipe up/down on my latest gen AirPod pros the volume no longer changes. I don’t think I touched my settings and can’t figure out how to re-enable it.

Anyone else experience this?

APP3 mic captures background noise in busy streets/travelling on road and no one is able to hear me

If I am travelling on a busy road it picks up background noise, if I am in the metro it picks up what others are speaking. Are app3 this way only?

Curious about what I need to make this work.

Ok so I found this AirPod pro earbud. It says it’s a2084 and it’s the one that I would place into my right ear. Now I was thinking about looking online and getting maybe a left side with a case. Cause people lose these all the time and i figured let me see if I can find someone selling the other half of what I need to make this work. Now I been looking online and am confused cause there are post saying that this number is the left ear and the right one is a2084. And also have seen some listings on eBay that say the felt ear is also a2084. So my question is what version of left earbud and case do I need to make this a complete set that I can use?????

Accidents Happen—Oops!!

I (very accidentally) washed AND dried my AirPod Pros…oops!!

As of right now, they still work, seemingly just fine. What’s the likelihood they’re actually cooked though?

And if you’re wondering how the hell I accidentally washed and dried them…I had put them in a tiny zipped hoodie pocket a few days ago that I then wore on a plane trip yesterday, but used my AirPod Maxes on the plane so I forgot they were in there…and when I got to my destination, did laundry.

Apparently, in my state of exhaustion, I neglected to check every single pocket of the hoodie, although I really thought I had.

For reference—the hoodie was a Comfrt Airplane Mode hoodie which has 8 pockets!

Apple did me a solid!!

So my wife lost her right AirPodsPro 2 over a year ago. She had just been putting up with only having the left one for a while now, hoping that she would be able to find it eventually.

Unfortunately, she has been in the hospital a lot recently, and I wanted her to have a full set, so I bit the bullet and ordered a replacement using the Apple Support app. When it came, and I tried to reprogram it along with the original one, I got the message that the AirPods were mismatched (the new one was showing up as a 1 instead of a 2 for some reason).

This may have been because at one point we thought we had found the missing right one, but it turns out it was one of her really old AirPods Pro 1. And I found that out when trying to reprogram that one using her case and her phone. So maybe the case got confused. Or maybe Apple just sent me the wrong one.

So I make an appointment and go to the Genius Bar today. And I gave them the backstory and the case and both AirPods. They spend some time in the back and then came out and said that they were going to give me a brand new set of AirPods 3!!

Which is just so awesome for them to do, especially with my wife in the hospital. So big kudos to Apple. I know sometimes people get pretty upset with them for either pricing, unwanted software changes, etc. But in this case, they really took care of a loyal customer!

AirPosture is now open source ( AirPods as Posture Coach)

Hey everyone!

AirPosture is now fully open source.

It’s an iOS app I’ve been building as a solo developer that turns your AirPods into a real-time posture coach — giving you gentle nudges to sit better, move more, and reduce neck strain throughout the day.

Some key features:

  • Real-time posture tracking using AirPods’ motion data
  • Subtle haptic feedback when posture slips
  • Runs quietly in the background while you work or study

👉 GitHub & TestFlight link: https://github.com/allenv0/AirPosture

I originally built AirPosture as a simple tool to improve posture using devices people already wear every day — not as another subscription app. Since the beta launch, it’s been used in over 100,000 sessions worldwide, which made me rethink my priorities. More than revenue, I care about helping as many people as possible build healthier habits.

Recently, I’ve also seen unofficial “AirPosture” apps with aggressive paywalls and even malware impersonating the project, which has complicated App Store review and confused users. Rather than fight this behind closed doors, I’m making the whole project completely transparent.

If you find it useful or interesting, please consider giving the project a star on GitHub🙏!

AirPods Pro 3 static noise

Hey guys, I just got the AirPods Pro 3 a couple of months ago, and I have noticed that there's a static noise every time I use it to watch TV at night. My TV is a TCL T7, and I have tried everything to troubleshoot it, but it comes in every now and then. I hear the static noise just on TV, but I don't hear it when I use it on my phone.

My question is, I am trying to enroll it in the AppleCare Plus warranty service. Will Apple replace it because of the static sounds I hear, or will they just repair it? What if I include the AirPods Pro 3 in my AppleCare One? Will they replace it? I was thinking that if it's under the AppleCare+, they will just repair it, as opposed to being covered under the AppleCare One, where they might replace the AirPods.

Coverage under AppleCare Plus per month is $1.99, compared to covering it or including it under my AppleCare One, which is $5.99 per month.

Hair on fire post! Airpods Pro 3 with beta 2 is amazing.

Something completely changed with beta 2. My source is Apple Music lossless, so we're on the same page here.

  • iOS 27 beta 2 firmware 9A304b
  • Way better sound quality with beta 2.
  • The EQ works now in all modes, where beta 1 was only in ANC.
  • Dare I say, sounds closer to lossless (obviously not, but they did something where the cymbals are incredibly clean).
  • I'm a decades long audio pro. I can hear up to 16kHz at age 55. I know what I'm saying.
  • I can't take my AirPods off anymore, they are that good.
  • Trust me bro, but for real.👍

AirPods Pro 3 Ear Tip Size Changes with Weather

Does anyone else have to change their AirPods Pro 3 ear tip size based on the weather? I find that when it’s hot and humid, and I’m sweatier, I have to go to a Medium as opposed to a Small.

Thanks in advance.

Precision finding not showing

Can you guys check your AirPods. I have a brand new pair of AirPods Pro 3. They are supposed to have precision finding but on mine, it just says “Directions”.

I brought it to the Genius Bar, but they couldn’t figure it out. The person working there even checked his own AirPods and it was showing the exact same thing as mine. He even got another AirPods case to see if it would resolve the issue, but it was exactly the same. No precision finding.

I can’t even make the AirPods case ring. Only the Earbuds ring when you hit “Play sound”

In the end the conclusion we came to was it was a problem with iOS 26, but I just don’t know. So anyone who has new AirPods with precision finding, check yours and let me know if it’s the same as mine.

My AirPod pro2’s won’t die

I know this is going to sound like an ad, and even admitting that more so, the irony. This being said; my AirPods will not fucking die. There is NOTHING I can accidentally do to these things to kill them and I drink A LOT. I can’t tell you how many times I have accidentally peed on an AirPod, been totally grossed out and thought “well if that didn’t kill it maybe rubbing alcohol won’t?” And honestly…. If you wait for it to dry out before you put it back in the case to charge, you’re good. THAT BEING SAID, I have also peed on the whole fuckin case and it all still works after being rinsed in rubbing alcohol separately until dry and then reused so do with that what you will. 100/10 would buy again 🤷🏼‍♀️

PSA: Use both the Equalizer and Headphone Accommodations while EQing your audio for better results

(Only available if you updated to the IOS 27 beta and the Airpods beta firmware) If you try tweaking both the equalizer and the audio tuning section under headphone accommodations you can target more frequencies that the equalizer can't seem to alter much. For reference I attached my own configuration mainly used for rage/hip hop music while also using spatial audio. If I do not use the headphone accommodations tuning feature (the brightness boost in my image), turning up the higher ranges on the equalizer to compensate produces a fairly different result. Sorry if this is poorly explained but I figured it would be helpful to let others that aren't using headphone accommodations know that you could customize the EQ even further.

AirPods Pro 3rd gen case: 46% → 15% while AirPods charged 28% → 95%. Healthy battery?

You can help me sanity-check my AirPods Pro charging case battery health.

I took these screenshots about 1 hour apart:

07:23
AirPods: 28%
Charging case: 46%

08:30
AirPods: 95%
Charging case: 15%

So during charging inside the case:
AirPods gained 67 percentage points (28% → 95%)

Case lost 31 percentage points (46% → 15%)

The AirPods seem to charge normally, but I’m wondering whether the case battery is degrading or if this amount of drain is considered normal?

I ask this because my subjective impression is that I have to charge the case of these new AirPods Pro (3rd gen) at least twice as often as I did with my previous AirPods Pro (2nd gen).

Anybody knows where I can buy one side replacement?

I bought my airpods 4 just last year, and it hasn’t been a year since I bought it. I lost one side of it and warranty doesn’t cover any lost one side airpods.

I’m from the Philippines and I bought my pairs in Hong Kong last July of 2025. Please help me find replacements. It was bought as a gift for me, and I’m depressed of how apple doesn’t offer any replacements.

Thank you very much to those who knows where I can get, or how I can buy replacements. Keep safe always, and keep your AirPods safe as well!

Beta firmware and the great equalizer

Well, I was so used to the flat (but good) sound but then I decided to update the beta version to support the new equalizer and my gosh…sooo much better!
What’s your opinion?
