Go To Kakadu, Take Your Akubra
Most fitting place I've found for my Brumby, sadly while I saw lots of brumbies I never managed to get a picture with one!

Hey! New to this sub but thought I would reach out to get thoughts from the brains trust. After 30 years on pining for an Akubra I’m now a proud and obsessed owner. I wear it way more than I anticipated and it’s part of my daily casual wear. I’m travelling soon and tossing up bringing it. It’s 2 long hauls flights and I figure it will be a pain to travel with. But also kinda feel lost without it. Keen for thoughts and experiences. Have you travelled with yours before? Glad or regretted?
EDIT: decision made. I might regret it but she’s coming with me. My hat is a Tablelands I’d that makes a difference to anyone’s opinion or recommendation.
Looking at grabbing an Akubra Riverina Straw for the heat, but wanted to check two quick things first.
Maybe someone already owns one?
How does the straw version hold up to regular wear compared to the felt version?
Is it true to size against the felt version ?
Thanks for your help.
The original strap snapped. Looking for a replacement that I do not have to cut slit.
My Banjo Paterson in Heritage Fawn just arrived at a really good price from Everything Australian. It's instantly my new favorite after my Stylemaster and my Balmoral. I'm wearing the Balmoral as my daily go-to in this hot weather but I'm really looking forward to fall so that I can switch over to the Banjo.
P.S., don't tell my wife that I just bought another hat...
Love this old hat a whole lot more now
