Is there such thing as AOTY-core? What’s our stereotypical music taste?

I’ve been hearing a lot of jokes about RYMcore and stuff like that, and I’m wondering if you guys have any appropriate stereotypes to describe us? I’m mainly asking this to see if I have a biased taste after finding most new music off AOTY for a while now.

Legendary moment for people who love pointless statistics

Caught hotter than July by Stevie wonder (and album that came out in 1980) with a score of 80/100 with exactly 1000 ratings. Also, this album is titled hotter than JULY and I am posting this on JULY 4th 2026

😭

It’s supposed to be a folk album, but there’s no way it‘s a 100 or a 0. It’s also definitely the biggest split i’ve ever seen. I guess I recommend listening to it

The state of ads currently on aoty

Is this only happening to me? Extremely annoying to deal with. Not sure if it's a glitch or not.

Interesting user I found

He joined 5 days ago as of writing this and he already has 600 reviews, all of which being either the word "agradable" or "respetable" alongside a rating. Is this a bot?

Not sure if the discussion flair is correct but whatever

Which 4-album run is best?

Kanye is TCD-808s, MJ is Off The Wall-Dangerous

I would personally go Kanye, each album sounded so different yet still was absolutely amazing

Spent hours rating Britney’s entire discography on Spotify. Do you agree with my album averages?

My ultimate Britney Spears discography rating. Blackout (9.7) is my absolute favorite ! What are yours?

Three albums I adore

No gimmicks, just brilliance. These three Brazilian records, rhythm and melody are on a totally different level in my opinion.

Not exactly rare, but maybe uncommon to an English speaker. Highly recommended for a good, uplifting and rewarding time.

Albums I've Listened to This Year: Rating

I decided to make this tier list to see how my opinions differ and relate to people in this group! Hope we can discuss similar artists that I may like? How do you feel about these albums? Do you have any favorites from this year that I should know about based on my top picks?

What a goated day in music history.

Muse could've waited one week to release The Wow! Signal and it would've been perfect.

This is one of the most slept on "bad albums" for bad music lovers like myself. I genuinely don't get how this doesn't get more attention. (information on who Jerm is in body text.)

'Jerm' is Jeremy Davis, ex-bassist for FUCKING. PARAMORE. And released one of the worst independent trap-rap albums of all-time. 9 ratings. FOURTY FOUR... monthly listeners. (For reference, Paramore has 33,972,342 monthly listeners. That's a ratio of over 772,000:1 by the way, and WHERE is the "biggest fall-off ever in music" video essay on him, huh? We'll make one for Roddy Rich and Lil Nas X but not THIS dude?

Criminal. The world needs to hear this thing. Well... at least like half of it. This is 20 songs long and you get the idea pretty quick. It is just wildly fascinating to me thought that nobodyyyyy knows this exists. 44 monthly listeners you guys. Ex Paramore member. How is that even possible...
