who are some of the underrated reviewers on the site?

we all seen the big ones, but which users you know think don’t get enough attention?

bonus points for users who also engage with others and don’t just like for like or stuff like that

Every Artist With More Than 1 Album in The Top 100 Best Albums

NOTE: (sorted by user critics)
also, this includes albums in the the top 125, adjusted to give a more fair chance of albums that have possibly been in the top 100 before.

UPDATE: GY!BE only has 3 projects on here, not 4. and one is an ep if you want to count that :/

so only 2

my bad guys

2nd update: Sujfan Stevens has 2 as well.

I got screenshots of Doris and The Powers That B having the exact same amount of ratings

Just a curious coincidence

Why does metal not get much love on here?

While I listen to every genre, I've noticed the site has a bias against metal in general. The only subgenres that have been close to the top this year are black metal and death metal, and those always drop a lot after they're on there. I'm just a bit confused as to why, like I'll see an album be mostly agreed to be the best album of the year (or at least top 5) everywhere else then its not even really close to being a must hear (unless its older and popular then it has nostalgia boost)

albums to compete with my top please

I’m aware my top 4 is probably the most basic and annoying thing to see lmao so I was wondering what albums I should check out that would possibly take over these ones. Thanks! I don’t wanna change any ratings ofc cause this is how I feel (at least rn)

how do you find music on aoty?

if i get into a new genre or subgenre, i’ll go through the critics highest rated albums, then the users highest rated. i’ll save all of them, and then i’ll go through and listen to them. how do you guys do it?

"Dariacore 2: enter here, hell to the left" by leroy (jane remover) has entered the top 500, just above "3 Feet High and Rising" by De La Soul

What's the biggest difference between user and critic score you've seen in an album?

I saw this and thought it was insane that a 90+ user score album had a yellow critic score

What are your favorite cases of an album having a critic review that seems random?

Or how I like to call it "Sometimes critics just review shit"

Can we just not allow some people to have accounts

Surely if you’re providing nothing of worth then you shouldn’t have an account

this week's description batch stands as the first batch in months to not include a Metal subgenre! a new writer has also joined us and fairly quickly got Dark Cabaret added. join the discord server to help write and approve descriptions!
