So tried hologram effect with this one, maybe not totally fitting the drawing. Also first attempt at crystals. And lava. And wanted to practice the falling stars but i think this was too much for the drawing 🙂 tips? Comments?
Especially the lava wasnt as I wanted

I’ve used colored pencils, gel pens, and fine line pens for details, but use mostly alcohol markers. I’m getting the hang of them! ☺️
I currently have the 24 set of Ohuhu Honolulu markers. I would like to get more but if I get the 48 set won't I end up with duplicates? Is it possible to get 24 different colors in a set? What are your suggestions?
I’m probably gonna have to paint over it with acrylic but I smeared pencil and locked it in. I also don’t like my rainbow. It’s too bold and I wanted it to be faded with a gradient effect. Please note it’s not finished. I am adding rays of light with colored pencil, but if you have more suggestions, let me know #ohuhu #mistakes
Can we agree that Bloom has the best color palette? That red/orange/blue contrast is so 🤌✨
Artwork information first, personal update/explanation after (and most of this is stated in the images, but y'know just in case):
[And please know I had direct links in this post but Reddit really did not want to let me post without removing them, so check for links where you normally would. 🙄]
______
Now, I'm going to try to keep this personal update/explanation brief, but there is also a blog post with more detail/information than is really appropriate to try to squeeze in this one Reddit post.
For those who don't know: Hi, I'm Mystic, and I was a pretty frequent sight on this subreddit trying to help people out until March of last year when my Reddit account was wrongly suspended/banned for reasons still unknown to me.
For 125 days, I tried every legal, reasonable method I could think of (including snail mail) to contact Reddit and at least get an explanation and received no response whatsoever. [And of course, making a new account was not an option lest I risk getting suspended/banned again for suspension/ban evasion...]
The only reason you're even seeing this post is because during the suspension, I befriended the lovely u/homeofstudiobee (through a different community I'm part of now known as the Colour Me Creative Collective) and she later very kindly offered to talk to some Reddit contacts she has through her day job about my situation and they were able to restore my account. [And still, the only possible reason for my wrongful suspension that her contacts could give me when all was said and done was that I might have been flagged as a bot. 🙃]
I have however been missing for far longer than 4 months for multiple reasons I don't really have the space to get into here (that's what the blogpost is for), but among them at least in small part, the fact of the matter is: If you get suddenly locked out of a place/community you had enjoyed so much it became part of your regular routine, with no explanation and seemingly no recourse, that hurts. And that wound needs its own time to heal.
But in the end, assuming this post itself doesn't get me suspended again, I'm back now. And this art is meant to celebrate that, celebrate the friends and community I found in my time away, and hopefully serve as more of a personal reset/"rebirth," as I hope to not just be back to where I was before, but to also be making and sharing a lot more actual art/creative things (swatch charts and resources, anyone? 😉) going forward.
And, yes, this means to anyone that sent messages/comments and been waiting and wondering if I'll get back to you—Next on my to-do list is trying to get through that backlog! 😂 And I intend to go back to popping up on new/current threads too, but I might have to get a little creative to avoid Reddit maybe-thinking I'm a bot again. 🙃
I have about 100-120 markers or so that i really want to bring with me on a trip. Im only bringing a carry-on. Im really worried about them getting confiscated, even though all the websites and posts ive read said that its fine. Has anyone ever had their markers confiscated by TSA?
Drew this cutie with Ohuhu alcohol markers the other day. I liked her so much I made her my YouTube icon!
Also, may I just add that alcohol markers are so satisfying? You can hardly see any streaks. My fave medium by far. 💖
So as far as I know, Ohuhu alcohol markers don’t yellow the pages.
I just heard that Arrtx does though, which is a shame cause I just bought their pastel set :,)
So here are my questions: can anyone confirm or deny whether Ohuhu and Arrtx yellow pages over time (I use them on coloring books that I order on Amazon if that matters but I’m also planning on using them on cardstock soon) and if they DO yellow my pages, what can I do about that?
Also, does anyone know if Bianyo yellows the paper?
And what do you guys think about Bianyo in general? I’ve been meaning to get them for a while but the shipping to where I live (if you order on the website) is crazy expensive and Amazon usually doesn’t store alcohol markers right… 🫠
first time using alcohol markers and coloring, used some Ohuhu markers. i had an idea and just went for it, but i definitely learned the hard way that big spaces with multiple colors can get messy fast if you leave areas sitting too long. i know it’s rough, so be easy lol. still deciding if i want to keep practicing, but i figured i’d share it anyway.
