One of the craziest wrestling takedowns you'll ever see
You'll never watch the opening smile the same way again
We’re doing a little leg-control challenge today! What do you think—does this look challenging or totally doable for you?
Local martial arts
I moved here about 3 years ago and have been searching for a dojo or kwoon to join and continue my practice.
I started training Shorin Ryu Karate in 2017 and Yin Style Baguazhang in 2021.
I was hoping to join a place that practiced one of these styles, a Google search didn’t help me much.
Does anyone know of areas I can continue my training in these?
Thanks in advance!

The Secret to Explosive Power Isn’t Muscle | Body Mechanics Explained
Most people think explosive power comes from bigger muscles. In reality, true power comes from how well your entire body works together.
In this video, I explain the body mechanics behind powerful elbow strikes using principles from Qigong and Internal Martial Arts. You’ll learn how to connect the shoulders, Kua (hip joints), legs, and body weight into one coordinated movement that produces efficient short-range power.
These same principles not only improve martial arts power but also develop mobility, coordination, joint integration, and whole-body movement.
In this lesson you’ll learn:
• Why using only arm strength limits power
• How the shoulder supports both striking and protection
• How to engage the Kua for whole-body connection
• Creating opposing forces to generate explosive power
• Using body weight instead of muscular effort
• Applying these principles in close-range offense and defense
• Improving mobility, coordination, and joint health through integrated movement

Tips on my sparring
Here’s a short clip of me and my friend sparring, what do you guys think? What could we be doing better? Any tips are appreciated, thanks
Hello 👋 I do not know a lot about martial arts, please educate me. I have a specific question I need advice on. Thank you for any help
As the title says, I don't have any experience with martial arts, but have always admired the discipline and focus it seems to give people.
I'm a 54 F who has been diagnosed with lower back issues and AVN of the hip ( I understand I am working on getting these health issues worked on foremost)
I'm looking for what type of martial arts would help me with anger issues and personal discipline over this issue? I have been watching people say how martial arts has helped them control their anger.
I am in great shape, aside from those above issues, but I can bike, swim, and do upper body weightlifting.

What is the best martial arts that balanced good with combat and and skill training ?
started taekwondo this year, but I find it boring now because I feel like there isn't enough combat training and sparring too. Still It’s good that taekwondo teaches new things like poomsae, but they take up too much place compared to sparring and combat. I know there are taekwondo clubs that focus more on sparring and combat, but I think I’d eventually get bored with that too, as it would be too much about combat and not about skill training (precision, technique*,*control) so, I’m looking for a martial art that offers a good balance between combat and skill work or perhaps even more than just training.
Edit : Hi there, i am gonna give more detail of why i do martial art :
My reason of why i do martial arts are for fight i love watching or seeing fight but professional ones like in movies or irl match. I won't say that i am a full fan but i love fight so my main objective in sports is to be good at fighting. (there also secondary goal like body training to have good stamina or an healthy body but they can be done with my main goal so i won't tell the others ones and you surely know them too)

Is Pencak Silat actually effective in a real fight?
Hey everyone,
I'm genuinely curious about your opinions on Pencak Silat as a martial art. Is it actually effective in a real street fight, or is it just a bunch of choreographed moves with no real application?
I'm not talking about the sport version with pads and rules—I mean the traditional stuff with knife work, flow, and continuous striking.
If you've trained in Silat, fought someone who does Silat, or even just sparred against it, I'd love to hear your honest take.
Is it legit, or is it overhyped?
