Lake Mary/Altamonte Springs Rentals

You’re wrong!

So I recently accepted a position in Lake Mary, and have to move from the upper northeast back down to Florida. I lived in Orlando for a decade before I ended up moving back up north for a job. Funny enough back down I go.😂
I primarily lived in the Wintergarden, Windemere, Kissimmee area, so Altamonte Springs/Lake Mary is a new venture for me.

My question for you all: would you have any apartment recommendations in that area. My office is located in Lake Mary🐶 so I would like to be within about 20 minutes driving distance if not closer. But as we all know, Orlando apartments are hit or miss… Mostly miss when it comes to maintenance, bug, infestations, and working front office haha. A lot of the reviews I’ve read on a lot of these complexes are a little troubling so if any locals have recommendations that aren’t two grand a month for a one bedroom, I was going to put my maximum at 1500 but I’m willing to go to about 1700 for a one bedroom.

I’m hoping for some good news so if anyone has any suggestions, please send them my way.

I used to do the Facebook marketplace route where I would look into finding someone looking for a roommate or someone renting their condo for a good price. That market looks a little flooded right now so that apartment it must be for now.

Escape rooms?

I've been trying to get my coworkers to join me in doing escape rooms, but they seem very timid as they've never done one before. As I'm still getting to know Altamonte, I'm not sure what would be a good one nearby to introduce them to. Any recommendations I can scout out?

Question about newer apartments and noise leakage (esp. The Aston in Altamonte Springs)

Hi all,

This is sooo random and I doubt this will find its way to an Aston resident but I assume a lot of these newer apartment buildings are built similarly?

I’ve been renting an apartment in Altamonte Springs that is older than me and I’m tired of it constantly falling apart, maintenance having to fix leaking ceilings, a shower wall that is caving in, an AC that went out and more. I’m also paying around $2k a month with zero walkability (I hate having to drive everywhere).

I found a few newer apartment options but The Aston seems to have the best combination of walkability, nearby activities and being close enough to bike to SunRail.

The only catch is that while I could afford the units with better locations, I’m hesitant to make such a big jump in rent. There’s a cheaper third-floor unit facing a Kid City daycare. They said recess is the only time noise might be an issue but my other half is a light sleeper and doesn’t have to get up until 10–11 for work.

So I’m stuck wondering whether I should pay more for an interior-facing unit or take the cheaper one. If you live at Aston or in another newer complex with a similar build, how is the soundproofing? In my current apartment, I can hear conversations outside from the second floor but I also don’t live next to a daycare.
