Terminator 2: Judgement Day @ the Egyptian is no longer in 70mm

They just emailed people who had bought tickets to let them know the print is unscreenable so they're now showing it in DCP. The 70mm screening will now be at the Aero on the 28th. Big shout out to u/TilikumHungry for selling me his ticket and keeping me updated on the changes

The Egyptian set to close in June to undergo technical upgrades

Kind of a shame, The Egyptian easily offers the best viewing experience of all the AC theaters. In my opinion, it’s one of the best experiences in all of LA, actually. The Aero is the one that’s seriously overdue for some upgrades.

waiting for screening recs?

I've been living in la for a little over half a year and basically all I care about is movies and all I do for fun is go to screenings.
since I'm new to mainstream cinephilia, I guess, I have a lot of movies I'm trying to sort of catch up on? but there's also some I refuse to watch until I can catch a screening.
what would you suggest I add to that list?
so far I've only got when Harry met Sally, 12 angry men, and alien. interstellar and 2001 were also on the list but I did catch those.
so yeah!! what are some iconic movies you'd recommend but would recommend waiting til I can find a screening??
also if you wanna leave some regular recs that'll be good at home too I'd love to hear them :)

Euphoria/Dirty Harry @ the Aero 05/20

So I’ve got 2 RSVPs for the euphoria Dirty Harry screening on Wednesday at the Aero. I’m not a member and this is my first AC event. I know that RSVPs are not guaranteed entry. If arrive around 7pm what do you think my odds are of actually getting in?

Unfortunately had unforeseen events come up that means I won't be able to catch the trilogy marathon. Happy to part with them for $15 (face value minus the service fee).

What is the best movie theater membership in L.A. right now?

I'm trying to decide on what movie theater membership to get for the summer. What do you suggest is the best membership? And what membership are you getting for this summer? I consider things like price, food, bathroom situation, parking situation, programming, etc. so I might go with Alamo Drafthouse but I hate paying for parking, even if it is validated parking.

I’m Heartbroken

I was four people behind the last who got tickets.

So just wanted to come on here and explain my experience with the Backrooms Premiere today. I am a member, I get my RSPV tickets for this event from an industry friend who got them, I’m SUPER excited as if I could pick one thing to do in my entire life over anything else this would be it, I got there super early at about 4:45 and wait in line for a little over an hour I think (it was confusing to figure out because there were like 4 different lines, so I waited in what I believe was the right one). After which, employees come around and explain that they’ve already given out all available physical tickets, and that the last who got them were right in-front of me. They say to go wait in the “Standby Line” and a bunch of people rush that way, but I’m confused so I asked a few questions. By the time I realize what has just happened there’s absolutely no hope since the new line is packed. I get no waitlist chance despite being so close behind the last to get in. At this point there’s no chance because the standby line is now full, and if I wanted to wait I would have to reset into a new line from the very back. I’m extremely disappointed with the way this was handled. Kane is my biggest inspiration and I hope the premiere is amazing; I just wish I could have been there or at the very least not been given hope and then had my heart crushed.
