Seating at Aero

I went to see a screening of Malcolm X at the Aero (great movie) but the seating at this theater seems to have pretty mixed opinions (more negative than positive from what I’ve seen). I had pretty much zero leg room and my legs even started to fall asleep at times. I’m not like a tall person or anything but the seating seems to be a problem for me. I tried sitting by the aisle but the angle was too uncomfortable as well so i sat near the middle. Not to mention people’s heads will usually block at least a small portion of the screen but most revival houses are like that lol

What are your recommendations for seating?

Visited the Directors Village in Westwood last night. The Show Must Go On!

Who else is excited?!? I live less than a mile away from this theater. I’m very excited that the American Cinematheque is reopening it very soon! Following a $25M revival, the theater is set to reopen in 2027. However, I am seeing The Odyssey in 70mm there next month!!

Very sad I can no longer make this screening, hoping to pass off my RSVPs to a fellow Deadite.

Last chance for David Lynch fans and film collectors.

In just over an hour, Julien's Auctions closes bidding on something I've never seen come to market before: a signed 1980 letter from David Lynch to Eraserhead actor Jack Walsh, written only three years after the film's release, along with a letter from Mary Fisk (Lynch's wife at the time and sister of longtime collaborator Jack Fisk).

It's not a poster or a script—it's a deeply personal piece of Lynch history from the earliest days of his career. It may well be the rarest piece of Eraserhead ephemera to surface in decades.

If you're a serious Lynch collector—or know someone who is—now's the time.

Going to the Aero for the first time, question about parking and line situation

As the title states, I'll be going to the Aero Theatre for the first time on July 5th for the 70mm showing of Playtime and I'm curious about the parking and line up situation. Is it street parking like most places in Santa Monica? Is there a dedicated lot?

The line, what's recommended for showing up to snag a good seat? An hour before? Right around show time?

Members Line for Free Screenings

At Aero free screenings, there used to be only 1 line, and then a separate one for either patrons who get priority and a line for standby with no rsvp

Now non-members with rsvp wait til all the members go in first?? So even if you go early, you might miss it if the rsvp line exceeded the available seats

Sucks but it makes total sense

PSA 6/25 CREEP screening tix

Silverlake Scream Show, the hosts of the Zach Cregger Barbarian screening last month at LF3, are back this Thursday (6/25) to screen CREEP with Director Patrick Brice in attendance. We still have a handful of tickets for sale!

We are a local horror film nonprofit org that screens debut horror features and chats with their filmmakers after.

Thursday at 7PM at Laemmle NoHo. I’ll be moderating the Q&A, so hope to see some fellow AC members & fans there!
